  • It all looks great! Question, am I the only one wanting to see Bethany's garden, with all of Laura's throw aways?

  • IDK Laura & Aaron, perhaps in the play area, you can install some temporary posts and strategically place some shade sails until the trees start to get some size and natural shade capability. Shade sails come in so many sizes, shade strength and colors that they can mostly just blend into the surroundings without being too much of an eyesore. You would really only need them In place during the hottest part of the year. They are pretty simple to string up and take down and just needs to block that fun killing afternoon sun. I would think if you had a couple of large shade trees installed, the play area would have enough shade in a couple of years that you wouldn't need the shade cloth after that. But it would allow the children to enjoy the area for more of the summer.

    @risalangdon9883@risalangdon988319 күн бұрын
    • That would be nice to see because I have had terrible luck with sails in our area. We get really strong winds and having wide open spaces the wind really gets with it. If there's a way to make it more secure I am sure Laura would figure it out! ❤

The kids will have many years of fun in their play area,keeping in mind as they grow they will have the huge basketball court/ tennis court. Then there's the pond to just relax around. Not to mention all the garden areas with seating an your patio areas to have early morning coffee. Time flies by,all those trees will be huge in just a short time. Enjoy everyday. Your hard work and knowledge of gardening is amazing. May your channel continues to grow, for it's the best one on YT. You're my inspiration to get out an add to my landscape.

  • We have had rubber mulch for 5 years. It does NOT get hot on sunny days. It's magic. Lol. Best thing we did. We haven't had to add a single bag. Besides it being all around the house, we have a huge sloped hill that's about 130x25. Doesn't fall/slide with rain or wind. Still the exact same color. Shouldn't start fading for another 7+years. It's made of old tires and other rubbers that can't get recycled or put in land fills. It's comfortable on your bare feet and on your knees if you forget to pull out GA's knee pad.

When the weather is nice during the day, with cool temperatures, you'll see mothers bring their young children there to play on the slides, swings, etc. Once the temperature increases you never see anyone there for the entire summer. The playground equipment gets so scalding hot that they can't use it. I'm so glad you will be installing trees! Keep in mind the tube slide could get very hot even now. 🌿🌸🌿 🛝

  • Hi guys! Question, have you considered placing a swimming pond behind the Dream Stream on the new property? I think it would be an awesome opportunity to continue the freshwater option to place a swimming pond with it's own filtration system that would not draw water from the fishes ecosystem, but you could run a nice tie-in with a 2nd waterfall heading down to the swimming pond and it could be placed alongside of your tennis/basketball court. In your family central funzone. Its food for thought. Thanks!

Some of the new ones are small enough to fit in a bed but the older ones get beastly in size which would be perfect for that spot. That bobcat is an absolute blessing. You are putting it through it’s paces!

  • Love the playset area! Laura and Aaron, maybe you could do the berry field in the other side (instead of dahlia!). Move all your strawberries, rasberries, grapes, blueberries ect! And where you have your rasberries now, you could extend what you already have in that area with the paths and larger tree :). Just an idea but i think it would be awsome hihi! :). It would also clear more soace in the cut flower garden where you want to add the strawberry beds to put more perrenials or veggies if needed!

  • I wish our neighbors were as considerate as you guys. They put out a huge primary colored play set next to the our property line (we’re all on large acreage ) and it’s not attractive….but it is good to see their kids out playing because they never come outside. Being metal I’m sure in 5 yrs it will be rusted out with no child in sight.

    • They lose interest when they turn about 9 or 10 so it will probably be sold then. Most people don’t keep them at that age because the kids move on

    • @@cutenurse79 that’s the age the one child is…9….and a new baby. We’re in our 60’s. So the play set will outlast us.🤣

    • @@doreen9838 yes here too….several put them in. I think that’s why the neighbors I’m speaking of put the playhouse on our property line side because they too plan for a inground pool someday.

    • The rubber mulch is toxic and will create health problems for the children. Should have stuck to wood chip.

  • This video brings back fond memories of pockets full of rubber mulch my littles brought home from the playground 😅 Laura and Aaron, I appreciate your example of how to raise unspoiled children with material privilege. Lots of time, love, gentle correction, and modeling hard work and generosity.

  • What a cool play area. I think when you plant a shade tree put a round sitting bench around it. Like back in the Victorian times to sit under the shade.

  • This is going to be such a fun area for the kids and friends/cousins! You could build a brick or paver patio in-between the playground and basketball court to tie the two areas together, add a pergola for shade (new home for the wisteria?), and seating. Perhaps Paul could build some lidded storage benches to hold the basketballs, lidded benches with drop-in space for a cooler of cold drinks, and an enclosed space to hide a garbage can??
