I don't even have a camera. But I watch this channel regularly. Quality content.
Same here man Broke people😂
Haha start with the Fujifilm if you're looking for your first camera.
@@Jakiyyyyy bruh fuji sucks tbh...canon beginner cams are the best to start off with...atleast thats what i know
@@ISRAADVISUALS Why? Have you ever tried them?
@@Jakiyyyyy i did Fuji is really good with thier high end cameras which are expensive..but they suck at beginner level..
My first video of 2020 uploaded in my new year resolution (4k) Edit1: I've said you get 'More' depth of field when you zoom in but I actually meant 'more blur' which is technically 'less' depth of field.
good one lol
Hey saurav i have to buy a camera under 40k.... Which one should I choose
Its resolution right! But i don't have a 4k display!! Lol
Bro, where did u learn the basics of Photography in your initial days ???
When u say increase of focal length decreases the Depth of Field, is it actually focal length or EFL
This video is entirely excellent. Everything from the pacing of your speech, to the amount of examples you use, are perfect. Keep up the incredible work & I’ll definitely be coming back to this channel if I have any Photography questions.
No one told me that Nikon has 1.5 crop factor and Cannon has 1.6 . Thank you for sharing.
What about Fujifilm?
@@Ishijah1 1.5
1.6 crop factor does it means the sensor size on Canon is smaller than Nikon?
Their Crop body camera has this crop factor. full frame body doesn’t have this kind of impact.
@@Jakiyyyyy yes
I've been down a KZhead hole researching cameras/lenses. This was the most helpful I've found in 2 hours- thank you so much!!!!
Hi Saurav, that was the best explanation i have seen in a very long time! You have a very good way about you which is excellent. Keep up the great videos and as it's November 15th 2020 today you're probably in the middle of Dihwalli, enjoy!
I'm trying to understand the results of pushing vanishing points to different extremes in drawing and I found this somewhat helpful. Understanding compression as a result of how close vanishing points are to one another will help me when setting up vanishing points to start and plan a piece.
Great job explaining! You've done a much better job than so many others. Subscribed and keep up the learning material. Thanks
Thanks this really helps a lot. I am trying to get into microstock and learning this really helps, as well as the math at the beginning. It made me happy to hear that you are a landscape photographer and that you use a higher focal length because I currently only have one lens (prime, 35mm, but my camera is 2x crop factor, so 70mm). Thanks again.
Extremely informative and concise! Thanks a ton man!
Wow, this man should be a professor in some college or university.
No man he is not
He makes more money doing youtube and gets to avoid faculty politics
He is nice at explaining but made some mistakes in explaining depth of field. As a professor you can not afford that.
Thats true😁
@@palashgaur1650 lol you act like profs do not make mistakes. they do, (ik because I am a uni student and profs I have had have made mistakes), but if they do they correct them and he did. we are are prone to human error, even profs.
Amazing video.., I just started exploring more and more about photography and videography...... This video of yours was really nice and useful
Thank you for explaining these concepts in clear, easy to understand language geared towards beginners.
dude! you're a gem! so glad i found this channel! love your delivery and knowledge of the subject!
Omg! Thank you so much for this video! Focal length makes so much more sense now💗
Well! thanks again buddy. Really informative and useful. Keep it up!
Thank you Saurav for your valuable lessons/tips.
This brief yet extremely informative and digestible video just earned You a subscriber. Awesome job!
Thanks for the video. You might want to mention, as well, what compression can do to human facial features; so the need for checking on that re distance from your subject when using various focal length lenses for portraits so you don't distort people's faces (however subtle, or not, that distortion can be).
This video helped me in my physics 😂 I didnt know what is focal length in physics I actually came here searching' what is focal length' 😂
same bro
One word: OUTSTANDING
Your videos are always so good. Even if I know the topic already, the revision is great. Thanks. I subscribed.
This was extremely helpful. I was looking for something just like this.
Thank you! One of the best videos on the subject I’ve seen. Can’t wait to watch more!
You have some great videos with lots of basic information. I'd like to see you to a on the scene photo shoot and walk through some of your shots. As a fellow photographer when I do a walk through it makes it easy to understand the process to achieve the finished images. Happy new years and happy shooting !!!
Great video very concise. Thank you for sharing. I wish more channels were succinct like this instead of wasting my time with 90 second long intros
I think I have found the best KZheadr on photography now😍you do such a great job explaining every little detail about all things photography for people that have zero experience in this field. This is a great channel👌I love it
Now this is what we call a perfect explanation. I've always struggled with focal length and learned about it but this made it perfectly clear.
One of the most practical videos I’ve seen👍🏼 all that in under 7 minutes... wow
This video had so many succinct examples. I'm appreciative for having found it. Thank you!
Hey Saurav, great man.. I'm really impressed the way you are explaining. Take up more complex things.. You have that charm. Now i'm clear about focul length.
You should be getting paid to teach! Even with your accent (I’m in the US) you made this as clear and simplified as you possibly could in 6 minutes! Great work!
Bro, yes. This was very helpful. I feel like we're friends, and you're just giving me tips on how to use my camera. Great content, man!
This explaination was all I needed. Good work man!!
wow I can't believe I finally understand this! thank you so much you are sooo good explaining the complex
I’ll definitely have to watch this vid a few times throughout my learning but this vid was super helpful.
Very well done video. You explain things clearly with no useless stuff. Keep making videos this way. I don't like the ones with long introductions and full of foolish jargon. Thank you for the information. I knew what focal length was but you gave me a new perspective. I usually think of depth if field as a function of aperture only.
Your videos have literally taught me everything I know about photography, and I have improved so much since I found your channel. Is there any way you could make a video on shooting dark subjects in dark locations? I have a black Labrador and I want photos in the forest and I cannot afford other light sources but ISO and the sun itself
He already has a video on it
@@vsboardza yes, but it's based on still objects and I need a fast shutter speed because I'm shooting an animal
Marie Klüver-Kristensen Just use higher ISO in night for now or external flash.
@@HarshvardhanSaboo higher ISO makes the photo grainy to a point where it cannot be saved
@ You r absolutely right that's why I suggested alternate source of light. Ideally no matter what you do photography needs lighting.. I'm a professional photographer. If lighting isn't there camera will require higher ISO, I'm afraid no other option is there. Or you speedlight with your camera, the response I have seen is amazing if you know how to go bounce flashlight the output will be like you have not used Flashlight at all.
Beautifully explained!! Your videos are full on knowledge and easily understood!! They are technical too
The quality in this video is really amazing
A minecrafter.... Noice
Wow! I'm not even a photographer but I watched the whole video. This was great! Well done.
1:15 sensor with or without crop 1:50 small number of focal length = wider perspective ... 15mm = wider perspective than 200 mm... 2:30 compression ... 3:30 depth of field 4:15 zooming in vs moving closer physically to the subject ... 5:20 portrait ...
I use 50mm on APSC and it has a 75mm equivalent and I use it literally for almost shots, portrait, street, and I love it!
i used a6000 sony, i cant use crop when it comes to Raw files. im a right?
Me too. I use a 56mm 1.4f and I love the images it produces
Bro which camera is best for photography Nikon d5600 or Canon 800d ??? Plz tell me
the nifty fifty.
Thanks for helping me understand this topic!!! Very well explained :)
Thank you for making this video! As a beginner it was really helpful.
I just saw two seconds of this video and subscribed . This is quality content
I am learning photography now and your channel is a plus, thanks for sharing this content.
Thanks for teaching us so much bro ❤️🥰Love from Bengaluru🥰❤️
KZhead recommending this video now... but why in the world i haven't seen this channel before... Quality content dude.. Keep it up❤❤

Best explanation I’ve heard yet. Thank you
Awesome video, I learnt so much and really appreciate the detail you went to!
I loved how this guy explains things! I love it!
Best video I have watched about focal length so far.
AMAZING answered my questions nobody addressed. Very STRAIGHT to the point. I will get the Sony Gmaster 135mm and 50mm Gmaster 50 1.2 thanks to this.
Thanks man. Finally, I got my answer on choosing a lens for portrait.
Dude this was so well explained, thanks!
Appreciate your video and efforts! 100% marks on it. But one correction, when you increase the focal length/zoom in , the distance between 2 subjects increases as you are getting into the finer details and your scope narrows.
super.. super.. i loved your tutorials.. you are a gifted teacher.. .you are approaching the subject perfectly.. a little bit of tech background... and then practical scenarios... amazing.... god bless you.. wishing you more and more sucess...
This is SO helpful. Thank you!
I loved your clean and sharp explanation. Thanks
Hi! Dear nice video. Just want to modify one thing that when we use 200 mm we won’t get more depth of field but that is called shallow depth of field.yeah thats true that we’ll get more blurr but that is called shallow depth of field.More or Deep depth of field is when we use a wider lens or increase the f-Stop.
I get the best vibes from this guy. He seems like he's a good one to hang around.
Hey man. Very informative and explained simply so it’s easy to understand. Thanks.
Short and perfect!
This video was so insightful, thank you!

I watched this when you first uploaded this and I was barely starting out making videos, but was having a hard time trying to understand. Throughout the year I've learned little by little and began to understand more and more. Now that I'm back to this video, it makes perfect sense! Thanks man!!
Professionally explained. Nice vid!
Awesome explanation. One of the best.
Thank you very much for this very informative video. I’m in the very beginning stages of a photography course and I’ve had to google about focal length because I really struggle with its concept for some reason
