I remember crabbing for Bluecrab back in the days back in NY, it was something my mother(R.I.P) and eldest sister taught me to do and i loved every minute of it. Cherish your family everyone, love them unconditionally. Love you Mom & Thanks for the memories.
Those 2 boys are being boys. I had a son Waylon I lost him in 2003 he had a fatal dirt bike accident and we did everything together fishing hunting I miss him so much. They grow up fast

This reminded me of the fun i had as a kid crabbing in 1970's Louisiana off piers, jettys or foraging on the shoreline after dark.Caught whole ice chests full on string using chicken necks, giblets and fish scraps. Huge family crab boils just like that. Great family memories.
My son is 3 and all he wants for his birthday is for mama to take him fishing with grandpa and eat crab. He LOVED your video. Instead of watching cartoons this kiddo watches crab/fishing, cars and wild animals on youtube.

Love some fresh blue crabs! I’m an “old bay” guy though with a little Tony’s creole thrown in the pot. Remember crabbing off bridges when I was a kid, coleman stove and big stock pot. Ate them right there all night long and it don’t get any better! Thanks for the video @Bluegabe and God bless.

Bit of advice from a Cajun. When you pull your trap, splash it in & out the water to rinse it some, before you pull in onto your boat. Then open the bait door & do it again. Help keep your boat clean. Also, when placing your trap, make sure you have the throat(s) facing the current or water flow from tidal patterns. You’ll catch more. 4 throat traps work the best. Use you graph to find unusual bottom contours & put your traps on or near those spots.

If you use 2 tablespoons of white distilled vinegar while you boil any shell fish it will make it easier to Peel off the shells from the meat. Love you all, Happy holidays and god bless.

I can’t believe it I just realized in the beginning of the video your at my neighborhood dock I grew up fishing on in Eagles Nest. I go out fishing with Dave Knutson and we get loads of fish commercial fishing.

Here in Maryland we steam blue crabs with old bay seasoning, add 2 beers to the water with a couple tablespoons of white wine vinegar. 🙏✌

I've been a Floridian for a few decades, but I used to live in Maryland. When I was a kid, we would go down to a dock,, tied a piece of chicken to a string and just dropped it in. I think they like the shade of the dock ? Anyway we caught many many blue crabs this way. We would feel the line getting poked at and just haul it up and there were crabs hanging off the chicken refusing to let go. We got bushels with this tactic, but a trap means you don't have to sit there all day and can do other productive activities. My point is , the next time you go crabbing, try chicken. I love blue crab but haven't eaten any in years. We used to have all you can eat places and I loved to sit for a couple hours and munch. I love your idea about cleaning them out before spicing. I may have to go crabbing soon since you got my mouth watering. I think they usually through on some old bay seasoning after cooking ? Since your fingers are covered in it as you open the crab, you still got the flavor. One more thing I learned about blue crabs that is easy to remember is that when you flip the crab up to determine sex, the boy looks like the Washington monument , and the girl looks like the Capital.
