    • Lonliness is a myth spread by the ill, unwelled by popular delusion (self accepted). The sickly, pulsing out their (self) comforting radiance, the marking of a predators territory. A light to shine on all slow enough to not revile it for it's false and reason less eviction of self from capability. The prey; uninitiated youth, vulnerable innocence. Argue not with the aged (or experienced) self-convinced. The miracle of emotional conformation of physical fact convincing to the unknowing, under steady application, overly sweetened (for the self) ideals of pleasure and comfort, the prey forget they knew a peace that didn't requiring feeding or explanation. The virtue of falsely buoyed stability grinding the ignorant, young, and uncatered, all taken in by the sin of kindness as apex. To gift the sickness that tells a human "human emotion in the negative is unnecessary and beyond comprehension or tolerance". To know that there are those in the world of humanity, who in their generationally refined adherence to parasite coddling, will continue to teach the youth "drugs are a healthy and functional right of aware and intelligent people" is a mark of shame in this age of our collective development. The truth of human being betrayed by the proposed necessity of stimulation beyond the natural state, it's supposed normality vouchsafed; sobriety (health) ignored as a greater insanity than parasitism. Salve the wounded pride of the vulgar addict, crucify the outspoken advocate of reassessment. This is not a statement of conflict, rather a portrait of the true and natural order in it's biased equality (comfort belonging to those who crave it most).

    • Nostalgia is probably the worst thing in the world besides sadism and starvation. I was not a normal kid at all. I was BORN with death anxiety and dreaded every single birthday, dreading the end from the very beginning. I cried when I turned ten because I now had two digits in my age and I knew it was how many you usually have at death, never making it to three. I cried when I hit puberty. I cried when I realized I was taller than my mom. These events all hit like terminal cancer diagnoses and gave me literal trauma. By 14 I was more at peace with eventual death but I took that number the way most people tend to 30 or 40, that fear that youth is over and you really have to figure your life out. So imagine what "sweet 16" and "adult 18" felt like. No excitement whatsoever. Zero percent. Just such a weird and miserable child. But I think due to being this way, I have an aversion to nostalgia. I don't understand how it's bittersweet for some people. It's literally the worst emotional feeling I've ever experienced, bar none. What it really is, is the feeling of permanent loss of something good. When I think about the fact that it would by now be essentially impossible to recreate certain happy moments in my earlier life, it's so emotionally devastating that I have to start blocking it out so I don't become a danger to myself. I hate nostalgia. I would probably have a brain surgery that could prevent it. Seriously.

Content creators post videos titled “you should watch this every morning” to refer to some practice or some notion that would make you more aware of your own being and help you to live your day with intention. I believe this segment, given its own space, would be one of those videos. It says just about everything I have come to understand about spiritual teaching and existential thinking. Great overall video. I enjoy all of the concepts you have presented and the concise explanation and brief history given to each one.

When I was gone, I had a sense of calming solitude in which nobody had greeted me or walked with me. I strongly believe that it was not my time and I was brought back for a reason, but with your explanation that everyone around is basically me but not really me is overwhelming. In the sesne that I could be the worst and best version of myself on different timelines. It's not a crazy idea but its worth taking note of.

    • Wow 20 minutes, interesting experience! Glad you're fine and had a revelation. I also had an NDE but it was in another context. Very calming and serene vibe but no people or anything actually. Most of people brought back have a certain role in the world, even if it might not make sense for them how is that. I also get sometimes spooked by that theory, because I think it might have a truth to it, but also more aspects that are not seen perceived clearly. And after all, if all is you in another form, death is an illusion and the yourney of knowing yourself inside and outside (in others) might be a pretty fascinating road, especially when there are other things that are there, but can be caught and disecated by humans in order to study it.

    @V8dadmartin@V8dadmartin8 ай бұрын
    • The Dunning-Kruger effect is just so painful on so many levels... especially when it comes to discussions about religion. I taught logic courses for seven years, and when I see people making such flawed arguments for the existence of a god, and I try to challenge them on it, and they think that they know more than me but are making such obvious fallacies, it's painful. Some guy told me I didn't know how to "think cortically" because I broke out some basic formal logic to show him why what he said was not a valid argument. He claimed he was an expert philosopher and into apologetics but he didn't even know basic formal logic. 🤦‍♀ Knowing how much you don't know and then interacting with someone who knows far less than you but thinks that they're an expert is such a double whammy of mental anguish. It's like being smacked up on all sides. I think I'll adopt your strategy and just let them wallow in their misinformation and keep quiet. It isn't worth the frustration.

      @CarefulHowYouStep@CarefulHowYouStep7 ай бұрын
    • @@CarefulHowYouStepIf being observed is a necessary condition for existence, then that thing from a higher dimension would also have to be observed, and that's just another formulation of the problem of infinite regress. As a result, I don't think we can take it as proven by quantum physics that something is observing us. Furthermore, a substantial number of quantum physicists are atheists (a considerably higher percentage than int the general population). I do appreciate your speculation, because I've spent a lot of time thinking about things like what you've said here, and even though I'm an atheist, I am a philosophical Taoist as well, although Taoism is rather panentheistic and doesn't imbue a sense of consciousness onto Tao. The analogy I like to use for consciousness the way I think about it is like a mushroom colony: a mushroom colony consists of a large underground mycelial network that produces mushrooms which produce spores and then decay or are consumed. The mushrooms can simultaneously be considered individual things, but also part of the greater whole. Every conscious living being is like a mushroom. Of course, that's all completely speculative and at best an imperfect analogy, and we don't even have an agreed upon definition of consciousness. Many scientists believe that consciousness is an emergent property of sufficiently complex computation amongst neurons. (See the consciousness hypotheses of materialism and emergentism.)

I know I'm an idiot, but for instance I talk often with a guy at work about firearms and notably he called himself a gun guy, while I said I know next to nothing about them. But the topic of personal protection came up for bear attacks, and another friend recommended a 10mm hand gun and the so called gun guy said the 10mm was a bad choice because he had seen a video of it not penetrating a bear skull. However if he had done his research almost everyone recommended a 10mm I found, even some 9mm because it was more about what your comfortable with and not what size caliber the gun was.

People focus too much on *a* philosophy, when we should always be questioning and 'trying' different views, forcing different biases on ourselves to better understand and be aware of them-rather than observing them through a looking glass; Which leads to said Black Swan.

Thus; have you ever really changed? Also there is no guarantee that changing perspective would bring you any closer to the truth. But there’s no good way of testing the veracity of any singular experience. We just measure them against each other and consider truth to be popular common opinion. • That bit about the chicken really struck fear into me, "oh my god why am I here" "where is my owner" "I was so sure that he loved me", what if we are all just chickens in some slaughterhouse we can't comprehend, where we are given a grace period before eventually being taken away by what we perceive as our bodies failing, only for something to happen that blows our minds and makes us scared and angry that we can't tell ones who are living about it. This somehow doesn't make me feel bad for chickens.

I settled on believing that there is only one Soul, and it is not limited by time or space, and we are ALL reincarnations of the same person. It makes it easier to be decent, considering I'm also the other person in another life. It also explains why so many of the women I know have been Cleopatra.

To each other to the planet to themselves to animals to everything… if we even had the smallest inkling we were amongst differing versions of a single self, why then would we behave like we do? I also agree with the morality comment. Morality is a social construct so without others to agree or disagree from differing perspectives how would we as a group ever come up with what we deemed right or wrong, and how do you explain all the evil in the world happening bc essentially you’re saying it’s you who is a pedo or a murderer or a r+pist if everyone on earth is you, it’s you doing all the bad things that happen every day and that’s kinda messed up. And what’s up w everyone thinking they were cleopatra 😂 I’ve heard that so many times esp with “past lives” people they’re always cleopatra like why her lol

I can easily emphasize with people because they are me. It also made sense why some people are evil and some are kind and understanding, those evil people are the version of me who was still in the early stage of conception, they don't know much but themselves. Those kinder versions of me are the more matured ones who reached a reasonable point of enlightenment. It also aligned with buddhism's "We are One" and Christian's "Do to your neighbors what you want to be done unto you"...makes me wonder what if Jesus was our final Form? If you look at the standard model diagram, there is a block of 6 quarks, and below that a block of 6 leptons, which includes the electron (quarks and leptons also all have anti-particles as well). Only hadrons are made up of quarks. The hadrons include the baryons and mesons. Baryons are made up of 3 quarks, so neutrons and protons are baryons. And mesons are made up of 2 quarks, a quark + an anti-quark. I think there are also particles that have been measured that are made up of 4 quarks, the tetraquark, or even 5 quarks.

  • I just wanna argue one point you made in which you pose the question: when was the last time you read a book about someone who failed? And the answer is… many, many times. Many psychoanalysts and philosophers died poor and unknown. A lot were even ridiculed and hated during their lives. It wasn’t until after they died as failures that people finally realized the value of their work. This extends to a lot of musicians, artists, and so on.

    @mariocastro1540@mariocastro15408 ай бұрын
    • i would disagree with you, I obviously don't know how those philosophers thought, but if their goal was to share their knowledge, none of them failed, of course if you think that becoming famous and rich in their time is success, they failed, but that's you superimposing your definition of success on them

  • Something strange just happened to me so I will share. My Dads birthday is today Sept 2 1934…he would have been 89. Starting my day thinking of him I went to the corner store. My total was 19.94 …the year he died. Almost 30 years ago. While thinking of him already because it is the day he was born as soon I heard the total 19.94 the year he died kinda tripped me out. Was he saying Hi to me or letting me know he was with me in some way? Or was it just a coincidence? I’m gonna think he is just saying Hi. 👍🏼🌎☀️💙…I really needed this video today…thank you

  • I think that public knowledge of the Dunning-Kruger effect has effected the hypothesis. Now that knowledgable people understand that they typically underestimate themselves, they've started getting an understanding on how much they really know in comparison to those who don't understand whatever the subject is. Now when someone thinks they know a lot, it really could go either way

    @AlexHutchingsOfficial@AlexHutchingsOfficial8 ай бұрын
    • My estimate would be only 5-10% of the knowledgeable people have self-awareness about their worth. And even then, most of them are in communities that consist of others similar to them, so they end up with an overestimation of the world as a whole. I could be completely wrong, but this is what I believe.

I mean the same chemical reaction when we fall in love happens when we get high which is why people that are high, get addicted. They're not addicted to the drug itself, no... They're addicted to that feeling of what feels like love...

  • The egg theory is my absolute favourite theory. I didn't see or hear anything about it online until a month or so ago, but for years, since I was a little kid, almost every detail of egg theory has been solid belief in my mind. I remember wandering around the woods by myself wondering if we all see the same colours, if we all experience life the same, if we reincarnat back in time, and nobody told me to think it, I just did. And it felt so real. It makes sense. And once I found out other people have actually thought it for a long time, it made it feel a lot more special. It's just cool

  • I work in medicine. 90% of patients were married just once, for life. Partner of 50-60 yrs died. Had 5 kids, they all live their lives and ultimately only return to ask for money. These frail old plp sacrificed their life as a provider. They're rewarded with nothing. Just abandoned all year, barring bday and Christmas. They're so miserable. They blame the care home for the misery. But we both know the truth. Their loved ones left them. It's so cruel. It's such a common story, I decided not to marry or have kids. Sometimes, one childless offspring will do a weekly visit to the elderly relative. They're usually on bad terms with their siblings. I see this constantly. I have to interact with the patient or their kids. I'm meant to be there for the medicine management, but constantly witness this horrible end-of-life abandonment. No one talks about this last 10 years.

Just because you need employees to function does not attribute the success of that company to it’s employees. Those employees don’t control the company. They are essentially just a resource, similar to machinery and materials. Cogs in a wheel.
