"Call in the animals two by two." So he called them in the ark two by two He called the bird, the oxford, the kangaroo Then he called in Japeth, and Ham, and Shem Then God began to flood the land He raised his hands to heaven on high Shook the stars and they moved from the sky Shook the mountains, he troubled the sea Hitched the wind, his chariot decree He steped on land and stood on the shore And declared that time there wouldn't be no more , Oh Noah, Oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide

This isn't in the slightest bit rap at all, this is literally a quartet singing gospel spiritual songs. You need to stop being so quick to think that anything with good Stanzas and rhyme schemes is automatically a genre of music that wouldn't exist for decades after this was made.
@CPorter2 ай бұрын
@@CPorter This is absolutely pre-rap before rap was a real genre. This gospel stanza straight spoken style absolutely inspired rap as a genre, and this is and has been known by music historians... You do know music genres evolve and create other genres, correct? It's not a far cry to call it rap. 30 years after this was made, hip hop would begin as a genre and 10 years later, rap would be experimented with for the first time. Of course rap drew from lots of places, but American black culture has had this kind of flow-based music forever and it was a large part of the invention of rap.

Usually I’m like “people still make this music 🙄” to people who say this about older music, but you’re right - it’s really really difficult to find authentic new music like this
The only new music that I'll listen to are ones with an old school feel to it. A lot of this modern sound for today's generation doesn't appeal to me. A lot of today's music (mainly mainstream) sound downright terrible. I just prefer underground music tbh.

This isn't in the slightest bit rap at all, this is literally a quartet singing gospel spiritual songs. You need to stop being so quick to think that anything with good Stanzas and rhyme schemes is automatically a genre of music that wouldn't exist for decades after this was made.
So from 1:42 to 2:22 the dude transcends 40s music, and somehow gets into a 90s rap groove. Very impressive.
He looks like lil baby too
I mean, rap has roots. Look up "Here comes the judge" by Pigmeat Markham. Or Jamaikan Toasting like Yellowman.

The most accurate lyrics you'll find Well it's oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. well it's Oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. (Soloist)- Brother Noah My God's talking Said he would ride on the wind & tide. (Group in background) - God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. Hey children, stop still, and listen to me. God walked down to the briny sea. He declared that evil was the sin for man. And then He decided to destroy the land. He spoke to Noah and Noah stopped. He said "Noah, I want you to build me an ark". I want you to build it 3 cubits long. I want you to build it big and strong. I want it 30 high and 50 wide. So it will withstand the wind and tide. Well it's oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. well it's Oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. Soloist (Humming) Mmmm Mmmm (Group in background) - God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. (Soloist)- Brother Noah. Brother Noah, my God's talking said he would ride on the wind and tide (Group in background) - God's gonna ride on the wind & tide. Well after the foundation was laid. and Then Noah began to hew and build. The ringing of the hammer that cried judgement. The hewing of the saw cried sin, repent. hundred years he hammered and sawed. Building the ark by the grace of God. And When the ark was done God's voice was heard. said "Now, Noah let me tell you what to do. call in the animals two by two. So he called them in the ark two by two. He called the birdies, the ox, with the kangaroo. Then he called in japheth, Ham, and Shem then God began to flood the land. He raised His hands to heaven on high. Shook the stars and moon from the sky. Shook the mountains, He trebled the sea. hitched the wind to his chariot wheels. He stepped on land and stood on the shore. And declared that time there wouldn't be no more. Well it's oh oh Noah Oh oh Noah Oh OH! oh Noah God's gonna ride on the wind & tide.
