For those of you who don't follow me outside of KZhead... SURPRISE I LIVE IN NYC NOW!!! 🎊💖 In today's video I'm catching you guys up on my life these past few months, we go on an amazing thrift adventure, and then I share the incredible haul of all the gems I found 🫶🏼 I really do think this was my best thrift and best thrift haul to date!!!
Between the time of moving out of LA and moving to NYC, we stayed at my in-laws in Minnesota for a month, and during that time I of course had to film a good ol' classic Midwest thrifting vlog. The thrift stores in the Midwest are just truly so abundant in amazing pieces with such great prices. It was such a fun time taking you guys along thrifting as I searched for some NYC colder weather staples. And then the HAUL!! I gotta say, I think I've outdone myself!! 😍

  • Yes! Analyzing: do I LOVE this? Will I really wear it? It's so important so I don't end up with a closet full of meh. I look at it, walk around with it in my cart, try it on, walk around some more, think about what I already have in my wardrobe to style it with, etc. That took me a long time to learn. You're smarter than me. 😁 Also, when you tried on the faux fur and then the real fur, I said, "oh, I hope she got them both." Excellent thrifting! And welcome to New York.

  • Dude! Welcome to the city. As a resident for 42 years I disagree with the person who said New Yorkers aren’t nice. You can’t say “good morning” to 8 million people. BUT, if you have a question people love to help you out. Please work your way through the thrift/vintage shops in Williamsburg & Bushwick. Some have tried - few have told the real story.

    • @JessicaNeistadt maybe something to do with styling in proportions? Or an updated basics video since people are probably dreaming of warmer months and spring cleaning. I personally don't feel like I know my style but am really wanting to know, and part of that seems to be finding the right silhouette for your body. I think as you get settled it would be cool to see you bring someone's pinterest board to life

  • Ha! Fellow Midwesterner here! I’m in the MItten state and our thrift store pricing is SO high! $60 for a cashmere sweater here is pretty typical. I would watch your LA thrift videos and jaw drop over how low your prices would be. Even estate sales here are pretty expensive. But we do have a way lower cost of living here with housing and gas prices…sooo I can’t complain. Love your videos! Glad to see ya back!

  • My grandfather was a furrier and had many customers who brought coats in for cleaning, re-lining, and summer storage. Furs need a special temp/humidity space in the off season to really last if you plan to pass yours down. It’s a gorgeous piece!
