Dropped 50 his rookie year. What a legend.
wweecwwcwtnanba1928 brandon jennings did that too lol
Biggie died just a month before this game
Artisan Windchimes yup. I believe Biggie also attended the game iverson faced the clippers in Los Angeles. He was in la for about a month
A few times (in a row) that season... it's gonna be a long time before we see someone that size dominate in the NBA... trust me.. #Legend #HOF
Not many rookies can pull that one.
and 4 40 point games in a row before this as a rookie, thats crazy
It was 44 4 7 97, 40 the 9th, 44 again the 11th, 50 on this night 12th, 40 again on the 14th. Fuckin impressive
Had 40 on Jordan and the Bulls.
@michael jordan You're wrong. You need to honestly do a fact check on YT search engine for Iverson vs Jordan before you make a statement like that again. Jordan is not what people make him out to be and their were many players that out played him in multiple bouts. Iverson is primary (only two games out of several meetings I've witnessed Iverson get overshadowed by Jordan), Grant Hill, Gary Payton, and a few others.
@michael jordan Check your search engine. Check the bouts. Jordan is overrated. A certainly not a better player than Iverson or Kobe. Facts.
@michael jordan it is just ok, ai not win a nba ring.
Officials robbed Allen a couple points! On God.
Allen robbed his teammates of a couple points, too.
The rules was different
@@mrtony80 Cavs are playing lockdown defense on every bum on that team AI is the only players that can score
@@mrtony80 He had 6 assists
@@TheMaxmillionz fax but they act like tim hardeway didn't do the same thing.
The man is 6’0 and drives to the basket like a 6’6. Absolutely Fearless
Imagine if he's 6'6
6? Im from Philly he used to be on S. Street high as hell. 5'10 is more realistic.
What cats don't realize is that the Cavs were one of the best defensive teams at this time and AI still lit them up like it was nothing... smh otherworldly confidence
BrandonHTV How many times are you going to hear that from Cleveland this year- DEFENSE? Not too often
I know right lol..... funny how times have changed
He lit up the Cavs and the Bulls which were PROBABLY the 2 of the top 5 best defensive teams that year. AI was on 10 from the start.
Ai is now overlooked he was one of the most dominant players ever in his prime
Real talk
Yeah but Dame Lillard is better but he tries to get his teammates involved while AI just shoot and shoot. Harden is also more dominant in his prime
I agree, i actually think he is the greatest pound for pound which means the most skilled. Most guys 6ft wont make it to the NBA let alone play like this. Someday there will be a guy 9ft tall that you throw the ball to and he just holds it 12ft in the air and drops it in and averages 80 points a game, does that make him the greatest player ever? No. Not sure if A.I. is the greatest but he is def one of them.
read my comments
Hes not over looked at all
If iverson played today he would be the best player ever So much freedom in today’s game
The media would find a way to constantly compare him to Lebron and how AI's team is better somehow so it takes away from how good he is
Cash on Deliver you’re stupid
Iverson would've averaged 40 PPG, same with T-Mac and Kobe. And MJ 50 PPG. Just my perspective.
Those would have been and-1s nowadays
Str8 Wrekin they robbed him of like 3 different and 1’s godamn zebras 🦓
Mvgic704 💯 u right man tim donaghy was the ref who was caught but it probably was more that wasn’t caught i don’t know why the hate on allen so hard just because he used to curse them out iverson was and is still my favorite player of all of time
Crossover so viscous they had to call carry woooo🔥🔥🔥
Was a carry tho lol, like most his crossovers
AI got no love from the officials his whole career still killed everybody
No love? How'd he get to the line so much then?
@@12savage68 He had to literally get knocked to the ground
Coronavirus got us watchin all these classic games. Cant wait til we are all pass this. Prayers up
Just legendary ! We don’t see players like this today... Real OG Loc 😅
MJ was the greatest Kobe was the best basketball professional ie workaholic but Iverson was my idol! Did the impossible!! words can not express how he impacted me and my game growing up! Absolute legend!
Iverson was the best individual player in modern basketball and the pound for pound GOAT as well.
AI was an icon from day one- i know kobe would go on to have the better career- but from day one- AI was an icon- the most influential player I've seen second only to mj. everyone on the playground was rocking his shoes, a bandana- playing like him from his first day man.
It's crazy how small he was because he was able to score so viciously on everybody. You'd think he get all of his shots blocked being a normal sized human. But in addition to his quick crossover, he was underrated explosive at the rim, so the defender never had time to time him let alone jump to really contest his shots smh CRAZY
I swear this is me, when I play at my local LA fitness
respect, but do u hve 7 foot bigs often in la fitness?
2:56; Ivo, in today’s era of basketball, wouldve never been called for a carry/travel!!!!!
Yeah it was like fraction of second and theycalled it... nowdays players exploit it so much its really changed the game just look at Doncic he is abusing it palming at every possesion its not fair.
Iverson changed the game thru his dribbling skills. He brings the crowd on their feet whenever he danced with the ball. More freedom for offensive player makes the game more exciting, more highlights.
Most exciting basketball player ever. I'd take him over anybody.
over mj?
Over Kobe?
@@805fillmore yes over kobe and mj. AI was always the best player on the court. No matter who else was on the court.
He was so strong
He was making some crazy contact layups
Relentless.
He should be on the Mount Rushmore of basketball. To do it at 6 feet tall, to take the Sixers to the Finals by himself?!
Easily one of the greatest players to play the sport
One of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen
THE ANSWER! A.I WAS THE MAN IN PHILLY. I LOVED WATCHING HIM, JORDAN AND KOBE ( RIP MAMBA) PLAY IN THEIR PRIME.
GREAT ROOKIE PERFORMANCE!!! 👍👍👍
I remember watching this live. I was 17 and already had a man crush for this dude. He was a pleasure to watch him. Go sixers!
Iverson was stronger and more muscular his first couple years in the league. He made a lot of contact plays in this game.
This is during the best era basketball
For all small guys A.I. is the true GOAT! Almighty Allen ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
1st step was crazy fast
Man , rookie Ai , and he crossed MJ too .. he had some nice handles tho
wouldn't of happened in Jordans prime
steven wicker nigga he still was in his prime and got crossed lmao
jay not better than Jordan don’t even start dumbass
Just because MJ is MJ doesn’t mean he can’t get crossed. It happened more than once to him and many players. AI was a unique talent
it wasn't a playoff game
They called palming on him cause the move broke the league he’s actually not palming the ball. It’s just a basic case of referees not use to seeing a move so they call a violation. Players were composing I remember Reggie kept saying he’s carrying but nope not at all. It’s almost what James harden is going through with the step back. I’ll end with this there’s a ton of things they don’t call in the league now a days trust me overdone would kill.
TheGreatDom2EZ nah Iverson carried a lot So do tons of players today
LebronBlew5Finals#NotTop5 #Needs2AllStarsToWin we can disagree
He carried constantly. They just don’t call it anymore.
Exactly. That snake Durant palms all the time. Can someone make a video on Durant?? I hate him so much
That Michael Jordan crossover was actually a jump step taking two steps after the crossover
He was so fast on the break. They couldn't catch him. Sura was my dude back then.
I love allen iverson 🥰😍
He was definitely that dude.🏀
Iverson revolutionized the entire game, he was definitely the best small player to ever play the game.
Will forever be my # 1 favorite player of all time 🐐
Antonio Lang's reaction at 1:53. "😮" He was impressed.
Era un espectáculo 🔥🔥🔥
This Version of iverson was the best With that haircut better
ikbal R naw bro cornrows sleeve and head bands was the best
That crossover was so clean and knew the way he made your boy get lost the referee didn’t know what to do it was so much of an innovation to the game but it was the cross the crap out of him
Damn 🐐... I Miss my guy a lot!
happy 48th birthday allen ezail iverson !!!
Four straight 40+ games at 6.0. Gosh!
I'm a Kobe fan but at one point I think Iverson was better then Kobe.Iverson took the bum ass Sixer's to a finals.with all role players. Just imagine if you swapped him and Kobe.with shaq Iverson probably would of have more championships
Pound for pound, AI was superior to Kobe.
Damm you have a good point
Sixers did suck that team was terrible. I don't think he was better than Kobe but man the Sixers were horrible how did they ever go anywhere.
he was better than kobe his rookie year all the way up to like 2002 then kobe well we know he surpassed him a lil after that
I mean iverson is too underrated when it comes to pure talent iverson was greater
This is when Terrell Brandon knew it was time to call it quits lol
this is a Classic!!
Man, if I was a top-tier perimeter defender at SG, there are only 2 people I would *never* want to guard. This man, and the other one would have been a young Derrick Rose. Those guys were just too fast...
The answer
Marke Fultz went number 1. Iverson would have ate him
AI was a sick athlete. Y'all seen his high school football highlights? Smh
still my fav NBA star!
us in Philly were lucky to see him every game from day 1
50 his rookie year I think he did it more than once this season too Allen Iverson was a straight up scorer out the ass!
4 str8 40 point games broke Wilts record as a rookie! But some respect on that mans name. "Momma! There goes that man" 😂🔥🔥🔥
El Nacimiento de una futura estrella de la Liga Waooo.. The Andswer
Man if A.I. played in this weak ass Era with no hand checking & everything being a foul dude would EASILY average 40 a game every season
97 is the year the hand check rule started...thats how he gets so many calls
@@dparkertex in 97 it was tweaked buddy it wasn't gone in 04 it was banished
X_odus no! only from 2004 without Hand Check Rule
He played up til 2009, he did play when that rule was in place
Mr Q Ceaz I realize that there’s no more hand checking but there’s a ton of contact still AI would be dominated by curry (hate the warriors)
Man, it sucks that we get old. What a fuckin player he was.
Savage!!!!
Allen🙌🏾
Bouncing around like a spring unstoppable
Idc who you are, you always gotta answer to the question 💪🏾💯🐐
Looks very promising
those jerseys were fire af
Crazy
He really did take a beating every game
Man, this is the first time I saw this. Nice to AI this fast.
My favorite player of all time.
1:49 i had the same reaction at #21. Tough ass move while in mid air
He always went to his right
Historic!
If time can go back I would love to see all my favorite top 5 players that i think most exciting players Jordan, Kobe, Iverson, Jason William aka chocolate the crazy passer. And the last last of all I wish time go back Derrick Rose can be healthy. Man o man Derrick and Iverson both are small but super explosive
I got A.I. in my top 10 all time..
dude is literally unstoppable, the only ones that somewhat managed to contain AI were MJ and Tyronn Lue and they both were crossed pretty bad.
A 5-11 165lbs rookie from Georgetown scoring 5 straight 50pts in a league when teams averaged around 85-93 per game. Just insane ROY campaign for AI 27 years ago
man aint no joke 50 points rookie and a 6ft
That palming whistle was hilarious
Those Cavs jerseys and that court are sick.
I watched this game on TV and was so mad at the refs. This was around the time the league tried to put the clamps on AI for his crossover. I think they called him for palming the ball at least 3 times. You can see in the highlights he was also not getting the continuation calls either (which might have been a league rule at the time for everyone). The reason why I'm commenting is because I was at one of the four games he scored 40 against the Hawks. It was crazy to get to see Iverson in his early prime go for 40 in the old Omni arena. It seemed like his first few years he had these similar 40 plus streaks in games in April. So lucky I got to be there and experience it live. It was like he was playing the game in fast forward and had at least two extra gears than everyone else on the floor. Dude was special for real.
pound for pound
🐐
He dropped this the day I was born literally
All his continuations would be and ones in todays NBA ...
Stackhouse was like "I gotta get the fuck outta Philly".
First A.I the G.O.A.T
Equivalent to 55 ppg during a 4 game stretch in today’s NBA.
If this sixers team could have gotten along they would have been awesome and tough to beateat
Dammmmmm😂😂
They need to add dokie Allen Iverson in 2k21
LOVED AI!!!
The little guy dominated anybody in that era. He was so good.
They really hated Allen dude. He should've scored 55-60
All those missed calls at the end!! Definitely not todays game thats for sure. Would've dropped 60+ if this game was todays NBA
A.I was masterful with that jump stop
Allen iverson was one of the most nba ready rookies ever.. Lebron. jordan. luka.
Never. Be. Another. Allen. Iverson.
First crossover goat
crossover goat is a Tim Hardaway
Глеб Гулевич nah fam
Kobe vs Iverson those time when ASG is still worth watching.
A.i. was that dude!!. Best draft class all time... destores the lbj draft😂😂
39 in the second half?? As a rookie 4 straight 40 plus games..he definitely would be in my starting five all time playing point even though he was a shooting guard idc
The referees had it out for Iverson since his rookie year! Wow!
