It is a position on a hill that provides access to the flank and even the rear of other Ukrainian positions The Russian Armed Forces can now develop an offensive in several directions at once as soon as they tighten up the logistics. The operation in Ocheretino was brilliant. The 2nd line of defense of the AFU west of Avdiivka is now gone. In the coming week we will see active painting of maps in red to the west of Avdeevka. Zelensky needs to start explaining why Ocheretino has no strategic significance because Russia will make huge gains now from its fall.

This is what has me baffled. Ukraine is collapsing. There can be no doubt about it now. It is a slow motion demolition at present, but it risks picking up its pace. No amount of aid will stop this. It is impossible. So why does the US send this aid? When Ukraine collapses despite the aid, the humiliation will be much worse than if they had just cut their losses.
I strongly suspect that money will be recycled back into Biden's campaign coffers by a myriad of ways.
