UPDATE 1.8.24 kzhead.info/sun/YJuapsairpGgfZ8/bejne.html Thank you all for listening. Yes, I am aware of the issues in this video (the audio and video being slightly misalligned, and the last song, Tsubasa, breaking at around 1:13:46). The video attached above is a recording of just that song. Unfortunately, to my knowledge I cannot fix these issues without reuploading the original video - assuming i can get that to even work properly. Believe me, this bugs me far more than it bugs any of you. I want to provide nothing but the best auditory & visual experience for everyone, yet there were two cricital errors here. My sincere apologies. Kind regards to you all, and thank you for listening. Please remember to support Kajiura-san.
These things happen sometimes, no worries. Thanks for the upload! This is my go-to stress relief in the evenings.
I come here every day and I'm just happy this is here, thanks for uploading and caring
Hey, it happens. Better for it to be here in a slightly flawed state than not at all. And I have uploads like yours to thank for even knowing this exists!
i'm not one for ripping off youtube, which was a mistake until i found this upload. it has been a solace for 9 months every here and there when i tried to find it. sometimes a few days in a week, sometimes a day or two in a month. cheers for taking care about it even after uploading, and i wouldve supported kajiura if i wasnt a day-to-day living scrub, so im thankful for what you provide.
I can imagine our 4 ladies going out to dinner together after recording this live.

hearing tsubasa in 2024 just makes me so incredibly emotional and nostalgic :') thank you so much for uploading this!
I'm always glad to hear people enjoy these songs so much. Thanks for listening!
RIGHT?!
35:31 I liked this version for Joelle’s vocal variety (and that sweet head voice on top) though I’m still partial to Kaori’s original in 2008. 36:32 Violin solo emphasizes the mourning sadness of the song. 😢😢😢 38:12 “Too far”, she uses the breath to give the effect of being far - word painting again! 38:57 The heaven and earth of Fiction Junction. 39:49 Hear Yuriko lean into her mask resonance for that bright heavy dynamic/tonal shift! 🌷 40:48 Yuriko’s own bright, forward version of this Hanae staple. 🍻 42:47 Yuriko puts on the gas to her piercing head voice and at 43:17 really brought it fully forward to her brightest mask placement! ❤❤❤👑👑👑 47:12 Yuriko’s lead hit! The beginning of YK’s hit tracks got anime I’ve heard. 50:52 Hear how Yuriko’s and Joelle’s voices blend well in terms of tone and placement. 🌷🌷 54:05 I always love the syncopated off beat from the instruments and again at 54:57! 55:08 Yuriko’s high soprano! 1:01:16 Yuriko dancing. 1:02:14 cute! 1:02:29 1:04:21 Yuriko floating away again! 1:07:36 One of the Most vibe-y Songs of Yuki Kajiura’s discography with that intro and the lyrics and melody! I am more enamored of Kaori’s original take in 2008 just because of nostalgia, though this is the superior vocal version! 1:10:17 Yuriko’s looks up as if singing the song to Someone up there. 🙌🏾
Thank you for this! Kajiura san music is out of the world
Mezame in particular is my favorite and I was dismayed that other recordings of it were taken down so I'm glad we have the whole album here.
Thank you for this!
You're welcome! I'm glad that you enjoyed it :)
Thanks! Some of the best songs are here. Hearing Yuki playing along live is special. 21:05 is a sweet part from Yuki.
Thank you very much for the upload!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!

Tsubasa Chronicles will always be one of my favourite childhood anime. I Talk To The Rain brings back so many emotions. I'm touched. Thank you Yuki Kajura and the team for bringing these masterpieces back to life!
I love these songs!! thanks for uploading!!
Glad you enjoy them, thanks for listening!
I was truly waiting for this. Thank you for your efforts!
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hoping to find a video of KajiuraFes soon!
thank you so much for uploading 🙏
Thanks for listening!
FictionJunction never stop to amaze me. Mrs Kajiura is just brilliant and all the voices, amazing musicians...
Im so glad you posted here! I got scared when i saw most of the other videos got taken down, thank you so much for helping preserve this gem!
Yeah, we've lost a lot of really good Live recordings recently, especially with Ghost's channel being hit. I'm hoping nothing happens here.
Well, at least for this particular concert, it was finally released on BD this month as part of the 30th anniversary early best collection. Only for the limited edition, but still. I'm sure that for those unable to get their hands on that release, it will remain available somewhere.
@TirOrah very true. I'm glad there exists an official release
@@OokiiPeter Me too. Still, thanks for keeping it alive! I wouldn't have found out about this concert if someone hadn't linked this to me.
I was dismayed that other recordings of Mezame in particular were taken down so I'm also really glad we have this.
Diese Lieder begleiten mich gefühlt schon mein halbes Leben lang
What a gem! I listened to it 10+ times already. Thanks to youtube recommendations. It's very rare to find a concert/album to listen completely without skipping any songs or feeling bored. And this is it! Great performance, pure voices, this live sounds like a studio recording or even greater. And of course, it's always a pleasure to see smiles on the faces of people who are happy with what they do. :)
It's definitely a gem! I was amazed by the quality as well, and seeing the performance in a studio was really cool. The concert was truly a pleasure to attend. Glad you enjoyed!
Yuriko's voice really gave me goosebumps. especially when she uses her head voice. i love yuriko san so much! T.T They all have wonderful voices.Thank you very much Ookii-san for posted here. This really made my day
I'm glad that you enjoyed it so much! Yuriko's voice is gorgeous.
And she’s able to go light and float or press the gas and go heavy and cutting! She can also use dynamics as well! ❤❤❤
I'm so happy listening to this, my childhood was tsubasa 😭😭❤❤❤❤
It seems that a great deal of people had the same (or a similar) experience with Tsubasa!

INCA ROSE ?? 😢😢 I ADORE THE SONG😭😭😭
Thank you for posting this. It's amazing. Interesting hearing these songs done by singers that aren't Emily bindiger
Glad to hear you enjoyed. You've got some great covers on your channel, too, it would seem. I'll be sure to check some out!
@@OokiiPeter a lot of them are over fifteen years old and I plan to redo them but thank you for your kind words
Yuriko often sings and dances very subtly and lightly. It’s infrequent and rather interesting to see her go into beast mode. Some notable moments are in Mezame and Salva Nos (chorus and solo). Music does influence one’s behavior and disposition.
I'm not that familiar with these vocalists and so, on my first viewing, I thought Yuriko was not as prominent in these performances as the other three. I've grown to notice and appreciate her contributions on repeat viewings, though. She's so good! They all are.
@@TirOrahThe Utahimes did not act out fiercely and energetically for this was a quarantined live studio; I can see your points in which Yuriko did not go all out unlike other performances. However, as there was no audience or stage to focus on, they rather sang with their teammates and inner souls (closing their eyes and projecting toward the cameras). Yuriko is currently the oldest one in the group, my guess is that she is in her late 40s by now, so she tends to lay back more and rather unleash the actual powers via her head voice. ;)
This 2020 Vanity has quite different aspects compared to the primary rendition (2008) - The leading vocalist, Joelle, has an articulate interpretation and clear pronunciation. Correct stressing and precise intonation are important in order to define a good song for those who speak English. :) - The tempo and the key were changed to adapt to the new vocal renovation, and I adore these changes. - Yuriko’s lower registration somehow blended very well with Joelle’s bright chest voice. I believe this exclusive harmony is one of the main reasons why Kajiura decided to have Joelle lead several English songs with Yuriko’s accompaniment. - The belting part of Keiko never ceased to amaze me. Putting the 2008 and 2020 versions into a scale, we can see how much her voice has improved and enhanced, of course, thanks to Yuki Kajiura :’(
Yes! Joelle and Yuriko are a power duo in Fiction Junction. Yuriko does quite well supporting Joelle and vice versa.
I Talk to the rainのかおちゃんの声が好きすぎて何度も聴いてる
Ty for this, I get so sad these pieces get taken down because idk where to buy them legally if not in Japan.
Agreed - it's a shame that buying them isn't as straightforward (nor affordable lol)
3:02 Listen to the feeling and emotion from Joelle on the word “crying”, and how she essentially ‘cries’ with her rising dynamics in singing the word. That’s word painting and that ability is one of the reasons I’m a fan of Joelle and a staunch supporter of her as a worthy addition to FictionJunction. 6:38 Listen to the dynamics by Joelle and Yuriko. I really feel Joelle’s skill allows for more duet with with her and Yuriko. Look at Kajiura smiling at their duet start. 13:07 It’s possible to rush at this point in Joelle’s position, but she managed it well. 13:32 Keiko’s solo triumph in this song! She didn’t belt the top note at 14:13 indeed opting to go to head voice. 33:26 Strong energy from the three of them! Keiko’s voice would have been too heavy at this point. The three mask users are best here.
Hey, gotta thank you a lot. Your comments are always elaborated and accentuated in the details of every single song and track. I’m not a native speaker myself, but English is currently my major; that’s why sophisticated and thorough comments like the one you were making are valuable as they provide a handful of words for me. I did not really pay deep attention to music or singers back then, but you flipped the table ;).
@@NguyenTrong1801 Oh wow! I really appreciate your comments. Glad that my posts are helpful! Always so many exciting details to discuss. This is also a learning and listening experience for me too. 🙏🏾 I wish you the best in your English language major! ✌🏾
@NguyenTrong1801 the proof of your studies is shining through brilliantly, even in this comment alone. I wish you all the best on your studies!
@@OokiiPeter 👍👍👍
@@OokiiPeterI’m sooooo flabbergasted. Thank you very much for your kindness. Embracing a foreign language as a major surely isn’t straightforward and painless. But I’m trying my best, and Yuki Kajiura plays a huge role in that journey, plus these observations as well. XD. Advanced words such as converge ( ex the chorus in Mezame), subtle (Joelle & Yuriko head voice), simultaneously (double lines like in In the land of twilight), decipher/ articulate (Vanity),… I did and am still learning via your depiction. Again, I truly appreciate your opinion and effort.
22:26 - 22:29 has to be my favorite moment in this entire concert.
With the overlapping vocal lines both in duet right?
@@TheSeeking2know that's right!
@@OokiiPeter Sweet choice!

Shine! Bright morning light. Now in the air the Spring is coming. Sweet, blowing wind singing down the hills and valleys. Keep your eyes on me now we're on the edge hell. Dear my love, sweet morning light, wait for me you've gone much farther...too far...
Yuriko and Joelle share a similar voice frequency and pitch once they start using their head voices; sometimes it is impossible to differentiate the leading vocalist without the cameras. I’m so loving Joelle.
Oh yes!!!!! ❤❤❤❤ It’s one of the reasons a I call Joelle and Yuriko “vocal sisters”. Their head voice facility and having almost the same rate of vibrato at the end of phrases means they can synchronize a lot together in rehearsals and live. It also means their duets are of the highest refinement in FJ.
@@TheSeeking2know Yuriko and Joelle are now the top two versatile vocalists in the group. Their classically trained power and experience enable them to simultaneously duet and control the dynamic. Not the mention the fact that their voices complement one another, so either of them can lay back, or augment the multi-layer harmony. Too much power.
@@NguyenTrong1801 Yes I agree. In the entire main roster. The guest singers like Eri Itou, Hane, REMI, KOKIA, Yuuka Nanri, and some others are also trained in college - so there’s some obvious refinement. The cool thing is that those with a classical background can bring some of the fundamentals of that training to multiple genres in trend of the use of head voice and the breath control and so on - that will include Eri Itou, KOKIA, and so on who have sung musical theater-style songs or Disney songs. Joelle brings in the soul and jazz elements into it, while Yuriko blends in some of the traditional Japanese ornamentations (heavier, oscillation-like vibrato, which Kaori also uses in her heavier belting), and Yuriko is also able to use tonally-consistent breathy aspects for effect. And Yuriko’s mask placement is unmatched. She’s rarely straining her voice - she just uses the resonance to pierce through. 🫡
@@TheSeeking2know Yuriko has an impressive vocal range that deserves applause. She can easily register a mix-to-head voice or complete head voice/soprano. In songs like "Key of the Twilight" or "Vanity," Yuriko plays a harmonizing role. I noticed that she did not struggle or make any mistakes while singing duets with Joelle or Wakana (older rendition). It's challenging to maintain a stable vocal line while supporting the main singer, but Yuriko was able to do it with ease. Talking about her mask resonance, she frequently uses it while performing famous tracks. I guess that's how she spices things up a bit ;). During the chorus of the song "Mezame," there is a part where Keiko and Kaori sing together in a counter line. Yuriko's movements during this part were noticeable and full of energy, which was different from Tomaru Hanae's performance in Vol. 9. Hanae's singing in the ending verses was more peaceful and subtle, possibly because she was trained to perform in stadiums or halls where professionalism and expertise are required. Yuriko, on the other hand, has been singing with Kajiura for a while now, collaborating with singers from different genres..
@@NguyenTrong1801 Great points! A good effect of being part of Yuko Kajiura’s vocal ensemble is that you get to sing different types of songs in multiple contexts: as a lead, as chorus, in a duet context. Yuriko has a wider vocal palette than Hanae, because Yuriko is able to utilize her mix well, add in mask placement, go breathy, and so on. Hanae is pure classical/operatic (and thus musical theater easily) and has beautiful control and consistency of tone. She hasn’t shown any other styles she may have. Yuriko’s “Mezame” was able to differentiate the points of climax by using her mix/mask to different degrees. Hanae in Vol. 9 held back her vocal power until the last climax (and I believe was also assisted by a sudden increase in the reverb on her mic at that moment that expanded the surprise). The live was also more energetic in general from all the singers/lighting/camera work, etc. In Vol. 17, her variation in power was less evident (she’s much older at this point so it’s understandable) and there was a more subdued and solemn/ mysterious feel to Hanae’s vocal posture in all her songs, which sadly also carried over into “Mezame”.
No way do I get to see this I'm so LUCKKKYYYY!!!!!
I'm glad you found your way here!

Your Sister Kaji Yuki What Napening Sister Yuki Kaji😱😱😱😱😱
dotHack and Tsubasa 💕💕💕💕
35:31 I am appreciating this version once again for the changes in the arrangement: 1 beautiful vocal instead of 2 (Kaori and Yuriko in the 2008 version), the equally beautiful violin solo and accompaniment, and the different way Kajiura played with along. 38:57 The richness of Yuriko's voice especially with her mix on the top notes hit even better than the 2008 version for me.
“Shine bright morning light, now in the….” the beginning part was musicless, allowing Joelle’s airy voice to be fully shined. “Keep your eyes on me….” Kaori in the 2008 version inchoated the chorus with a denser and fuller resonance while Joelle delivered it placidly. I respect the rollercoaster emotions throughout the initial segment because we can really see how she shifted between mid-to-head voice to head voice, instead of opting for a complete soprano range. “Now, we’re on of….. hell.” the legato here is essentially notable and ethereal. She's understanding and harmonizing with the lyrics, the meaning, and the slow timbre of this rendition. During the second play, Joelle adds more emotions and feelings at the beginning line, unlike its subtle counterpart at the beginning. Spicy Multiple in-take breaths punctuated the song, but I deem it necessary because it adds a deeper and warmer color. No additional vocalists were there, so there were instruments alone to accompany Joelle, but she nailed it perfectly. :)
@@NguyenTrong1801 I am with you on your points! Joelle's technique and vocal intentions really shine in the acappella beginning and is only accentuated by the music. She has intricate dynamics that she uses in the middle of words and phrases to paint the feeling of the lyrics to our ears. It also helps that she understands the language and can accentuate specific words with the right emotion (for English listeners). I think when English listeners hear Joelle sing Kajiura's English songs the emotional/technical expression hits more because it is accurately placed. The other ladies sing those songs phonetically so they are limited in how they can place their emotional expressions. The only comparable section from another FJ singer is Keiko taking the beginning of "Alleluia" in the live where they wore elaborate long patterned attire and Keiko came out by herself to start. It wasn't as intricate as Joelle's but a good sign of her solo vocal skill independent of musical instrumental support or harmonic assistance from other singers. When there's no music the true quality of your voice and technique is laid bare.
At ''open your heart'' song at 1:10:55 it's Greek. Kyrie Eleison trying to decipher it O Christe Eleison trying to decipher it

1:10:54 Listen to that sweet head voice with vibrato on "kyrie"! I had to go back twice to hear it. When you have the right mix of singers it really brings out the best from a song.
It really is quite remarkably beautiful. Hearing this concert with quality headphones brings out so many incredible details that I missed on first hearing it. On another note, it's always so fun to see you around Kajiura live videos! I've come across your comments on the many aspects you find beautiful and your wonderful explanations of such things. Your writing is always so in-depth and highlights a stupendous amount of detail (which I appreciate, even if I lack the technical understanding). It made me very happy to see that you made your way here.
@@OokiiPeter I'm speechless.... Thank you. The music of Yuki Kajiura is so moving, even without watching the animes she composed for you get the emotion. It's a delight to enjoy and has helped to develop me as a listener too!
I'm overjoyed to hear that it has helped you to develop as a listener! I've seen a handful of the anime that Kajiura-san was involved in, I think the first one (and my introduction to her works) was Madoka Magica, with a bit of Demon Slayer as well. I'm curious, what do you use to listen? I'm currently using a pair of Sennheiser 6XX headphones with a Fiio 5 Pro amp, and it's really helping me to enjoy the experience a lot, but before that I just used other various headphones or phone speakers.
@@OokiiPeter Interesting question. I am using some inexpensive IEMs straight into my Windows PC. I would imagine you would hear a few more details with your setup. I am guessing that you have the blue ray for this concert, so I also suspect that KZhead compression would shave off some of the quality. Am I right? To your first point, based on repeated comments on the "Magia" MV on KZhead I sought out "Madoka Magica" and got the surreal and dark vibe of the anime. Also saw a few episodes of "KnK" that were interesting. I also watched "Kimetsu no Yaiba" season 1 and the "Mugen Train" movie. Yuki Kajiura has her world of music and I'm glad she keeps operating at the top of the anisong world, and has the great honor of having the most successful anisong of all time with "Homura", a honor shared with LiSA.
I hope you will have the chance to listen with high quality headphones some day! Regardless of how you listen, it's an enjoyable concert. Per the video, I actually don't have the blu-ray. The original stream was held online on the E+ website (I think that's the name). I used a Google Chrome plugin to save the file to a mp4 file at original quality, or at least high quality. I think you may be right about KZhead shaving off quality, though. Ultimately, this video might be ever so slightly less quality as compared to the original live stream, but I'd like to imagine not.by much. I'm seeing a lot of familiar anime in your comment! I've been thinking to check out KnK some day - there are a few songs from it that particularly stand out to me, such as K17. The songs seem to have unusual names for that OST, but still radiate with the brilliance of Kajura.
Thanks a lot, but it's a shame that the last track is incomplete. From here kzhead.info/sun/itdqp8apeJSAqY0/bejne.html there's no sound, and later the video is stuck :/
It is a shame, yes. I don't know why that happened, I think my software bugged out. I linked the song somewhere in the comments here.
Too bad that the very last song is broken; no sound play half way through and video freezes till the end.
