I'm only watching for Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Fleabag is amazing and I can't wait for the second series!
M Florence me too!
Me too
and my god is the second series good
Hearing Phoebe talk about just starting to work on Killing Eve after it becoming this big thing is so cool.
Phoebe is awesome, loved Fleabag and Crashing a bit less but it's still awesome.
The roundtable that I've enjoyed the most this season thus far. Brilliant group and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is just a joy to listen to. I was completely feeling her with the Ab Fab and the Sally Wainwright mentions.
Lacey is an amazing host. Also, comedy roundtables are always the best.
SO much better than the guy on most of these who keeps interrupting the guests and injecting his own experience into the conversation. Hope they have her on more.
She has great intuition and is such a chill conversationalist! But most importantly she doesn't INTERRUPT like freakin' Stephen Galloway and lets the guests finish their anecdotes, and even if they trail away or ramble on she gives them the space and respect to realise it themselves instead of abruptly cutting them off, thats just disrespectful! Like he needs to STAPPH.
Shes hot
"universality, did I just make up a word?" is great
Phoebe Waller-Bridge... Doesn't matter what is about, I'm in. Good, so inspiring, i adore her more, than i could put into words.
I'm so glad THR has Lacey hosting these Emmy roundtables.
Lacey is an amazing host. Also, comedy roundtables are always the best.
Fleabag was one of the best show I watched last year, that and Atlanta was just great.
i think i liked yes i liked crashing (pheobe's) better obviously all three are brilliant
You now, Phoebe Waller-Bride and Donald Glover are big fans of each other and their shows. They mention it in an interview or two in their press junket for Solo, in which they play main characters. Fun fact: Donald Glover told his writers to watch Fleabag as "homework."
Those 2 shows feel like they belong to each other somehow. I know they are very different but the vibe, the sometimes subtle/over-the-top humor, fresh perspectives kind of privide a similar creative relief to audiences. They are my favorite shows right now.
*Phoebe Waller Bridge is a revelation!* I love FLEABAG, and hoping for Season 2 of CRASHING!
i have been checking online since march to see if there will be a season 2 and there has been no announcement i am disappointed Crashing was brilliant
crashing was amazing
I love that show. its such a great great comedy, hidden gem
45:24 Phoebe's FACE. I feel your pain, Phoebe! David Mandel interrupts Phoebe Waller-Bridge AGAIN in order to rephrase what she just fucking said only this time it's stated as a correction. Ugh.
The roundtable that I've enjoyed the most this season thus far. Brilliant group and Phoebe Waller-Bridge is just a joy to listen to. I was completely feeling her with the Ab Fab and the Sally Wainwright mentions.
Phoebe had them all laughing like school kids lol
Phoebe is such a gem
@@charlesjameson503 agreed
@@charlesjameson503 yes
Fell in love with Phoebe on Graham Norton, now just tryna watch all her things. But also so very grateful that Kenya decided to lean into the pigeonholing cause he's given us or been involved with some awesome black entertainment, from Girlfriends to Barbershop, Blackish/ Grownish to Girls Trip. Hella talented.
Hearing Phoebe talk about just starting to work on Killing Eve after it becoming this big thing is so cool.
@@suwqpfkxks9132 I know
Shoutout to all of these creators. They are beyond talented.
That was really an excellent Round Table, so many interesting stories from all of them.
Phoebe is awesome, loved Fleabag and Crashing a bit less but it's still awesome.
Often you watch these and they will talk about a project they are working on currently and it either doesn't happen or it bombs. Killing Eve is now on Season 2 and its amazing. Phoebe is a genius
Love and Fleabag are my favorite shows ever. So this Roundtable was a gift
Such a great conversation!
I just stumbled upon this on accident and this series is so lovely. It reminds me of the segments on Chelsea (the Netflix series) where she has a handful of people over for dinner and they just discuss whatever. It's so refreshing to see a long form group interview. I'm almost mad I've only now found this but similarly so pleased with the amount of content that I can view.
this is truly excellent i like everyone i am loving this they truly respect and admire each other
One Day At A Time is a very special sit-com. One of its greatest moments in my opinion has to be the way they represented depression and mental illness. Something I've never seen in its format. They did it with respect, humor, honesty and hope. I can't put into words how much it meant to me. Gloria, Phoebe, Donald Glover are the writers I look up to.
Agreed
Both Judd Apatow and Phoebe Waller-Bridge have made a television show called Crashing. Only realised that now. Have never seen Judd's one.
It's interesting that Ryan Murphy and Judd Apatow both gave same-ish answers about being prolific and the importance of building a creative team to pick up the slack.
I am glad that the creator of one day at the time is here that show is good.
Love that director who pumped in front of people.
Toxic femininity
I love the vibe of this interview🤍
"I am working on a show at the moment called "Killing Eve" " 2023 me listening to Phoebe casually dropping that : 👁👄👁
I need this to be a podcast so I can listen while doing other stuff.
8:29 OMG fleabag flashbacks
what a great group of artists. excellent stories
I love Phoebe Waller-Bridge she's brilliant on Fleabag
Holy shit is Mandel insufferable here. You can tell Phoebe Waller-Bridge has just had it with his shit. And this is coming from someone that adores Seinfeld.
One Day At a Time is such a fantastic show!
for some reason i didn't expect a comedy roundtable to be a laugh a minute but this was. i think it's because i usually think comedians are only 'on' when they're on the job and less 'on' when they're discussing their craft, but this was so entertaining to watch.
This is by far the most comfortable and enjoying Roundtable, the guest was actually very articulate, they were having fun carrying the conversation, not sounding boring even on the heavy topic.
Donald Glover and Issa Rae should be here.
at least issa is on the comedy actress roundtable (which is excellent, btw!).
watch her on segment on 'the daily show' and you'll see how wrong you are (smile)
I felt that she was insightful.
I don't know about Donald Glover but Issa Rae is not the showrunner of Insecure, Prentice Penny is
They were on a Comedy writer roundtable or creator or maybe it was young writer/creator last year with the man who wrote La La Land and some other person.
Judd Apatow know's his UK TV and Phoebe is right about Happy Valley.
Phoebe is such a gem
If they got Donald Glover I would've lost my shit
I only watched it for Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She is amazing and a genius!
That was fantastic
Loved the host. Very natural
JUST LETTING YOU KNOW - you misspelled one day at a time in the description
The Veep showrunner used to work on Seinfeld. You can tell that by the way he looks at the Speechless showrunner, who used to work on Friends
So great
Phoebe Waller-Bridge. That's it. That's the comment.
Those are not just black people watching. Girlfriends is one of the greatest shows ever! It’s just society will never recognize it.
David Mandel is such a pleasure to listen to! On a more elemental note, everyone’s familiar with the term “showrunner” but fewer probably know exactly what it encompasses.
David Mandel repeatedly cutting Phoebe Waller-Bridge off.
And every time it's to mansplain exactly what she had been describing 🙄
Why was David Mandel invited back? He spent 92% of last year's roundtable interrupting and talking over the other guests. It was a masterclass in mansplaining, but one that did not need repeating.
Because he's part of the tiny hat mafia
I know this was filmed awhile ago, but...WHERE IS MICHAELA COEL?
EXCELLENT QUESTION
Is chewing gum streamed or broadcast in america? if not probably that's why
it's on netflix in the u.s.
hahaha430 We have it on netflix~~~~~
Phoebe is so freaking amazing
Yeeesss! MORE LATINO shows...Puerto Rican especially, let’s go!
Crashing, Fleabag, Killing Eve....Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a genius.
Phoebe is so fucking funny
Lacey is is such a good interviewer. She would have done a great job with the studio execs interview
Mandel loves the sound of his own voice.
Off topic:Lacey Rose is GORGEOUS.
So true
OMG. That comment from Judd Apatow about his daughter hating jokes! LMAO. Sounds too familiar. And, yeah, Fleabag is awesome! I cannot wait for series 3.
I actually enjoyed Joey for what it was. everyone compared it to Friends and took an instantly dislike to it but when you compare it to some of the crap on TV now E.g. 2 Broke Girls, Melissa and Joey its actually not that horrible.
Okay guys can you do 3v3 america and british comedy showrunner? MacFarlane, Mike Judge, and Tina Fey v Gervais, Merchant, and Waller-Bridge for example 😀
Scott Silver's name matches his hair👨🦳
Yeah, but then there was "Episodes." Now, that WORKED.
Oh man i wish this roundtable came out post killing eve!! Lovelovelove phoebe and kenya too!!
MY crashing lool
and a few years later, Killing Eve is Killing TV and Netflix (in a good way) haha
Get it Kenya
YESSSS
David Mandel needs to learn to let other people speak. In every single one of these Roundtables all I've seen him do is step on other people talking and constantly reframe comments into a story about him. Just give him and his ego their own Roundtable and the rest of the writers a separate one.
Freaks and geeks deserved a billion seasons
Apatow's daughter might just have the baddest roost in history, that was cold.
One day at a time was axed....ouch
Here for kenya barris 😍😍😍
Mandel should have let the other writers finish speaking first BEFORE adding his thoughts. His interruptions prevented the other writers from finishing their stories
46:45 massive fart. haha
There's nothing I love more than listening to rich people laugh at their own jokes 😃
"you dont get paid for therapy" tell that to my therapist
Imagine if Bill Hader was in here too...
I wish Phoebe would talk to the camera about how bored she is here, but she has to do it cause she is famous
I'm so here for Kenya
I love his energy
Which part in Downton Abbey did Phoebe go for?
Lady Winifred Marjorie Wagner
She went up for Edith! :)
Our conformations are set in stone. These are hotter.
4 17 disarming
Lacey “Mmm-AhHa-Mmm-Uh-Huh” Rose.
"you hate yourself" - phoebe waller bridge
Scott Silveri clearly has a giant chip on his shoulder about Joey. He needs to let it go.
@111:53...that fact doesn't MATTER.
this is the part where the rap breaks down
I like guests but comments. Why so much complaining?
Judd - Your daughter is going to end up being a comedian. You watch!! When she's older... that's what she will be!
Did one of these create Ballers ?

Lacey rose, & freebie waller bridge. #Ha #☆Hca Halerio
Where is Aziz?!
He didn't have any shows this year. I hope he's working on MON season 3 though.
Why isn't Tina Fey on this panel?!
Obv didn’t want to be there
How the heck does one do a comedy showrunners roundtable without Tina Fey or Donald Glover?
They weren't available?
watching for phoebe :,)
No Prentice Penny? Hmmm...
That's who i thought would be on there.
thr was always racist
Watching this now.... Man they really don't understand why college isn't viewed as important.
Breast pumping mom moment.... she’s my Shero.
Here for Kenya Barris. And I'm not even black.
