10 DOG BREEDS WITH DEADLY BITES

A dog bite can cause tremendous initial damage. Dogs’ teeth rip and tear, and their jaws can break bones. Typically the bigger the dog the bigger the bite but that is not always the case. In this video I reveal ten dog breeds who's bites could be deadly.

  • The fact that the Pit Bull is usually less than 60 lbs and still made this list over other way bigger breeds really says something about how deadly they can be. =O Edit: I'm sorry. My comment sounded bad. I didn't mean they are a dangerous breed or anything like that. I meant their bite being potentially deadly. Maybe I should have said formidable or something. Hope that cleared things up. =D

Many people talk about bite force and PSI but none of that matters if the bite is on loose skin. Although a Boerboel is not a dog to run long distances what they do have is very fast agility with incredible strength often not seen by the average person who have only been exposed to a Cane Corso, Rottweiler etc etc . They are a 25lb dog that will go after a 150lb hog. CoonHounds typically know when they don't stand a chance. They will chase hogs bears and mountain lions, but they won't try to bite them like a jagdterrier. I like jagdterriers and CoonHounds. • Similar to CCs or Rotties, or Presas for that matter, I'd have had there also Boerbels and Filas as these were also bred with similar protection/guarding/catch versatile purposes and similar honed traits in mind - one had Africas wildlife to cope with, the other South American (and humans as well), the former due to Rottie and Bullmastif/Bulldog blood traits shares the jaw predicaments of those breeds, the latter has the tenacity/size/speed and more cut-through but also nibble-oriented (as in for farm animals "guiding") type of bite. Same possibly goes for the Indian mastif/bulldog breeds. I'd also consider including wolfdogs, some of these share the wolf's ancestral bite traits, some lack the bark ability for the same reason, and those variants often have the bite/jaws used more often. Still, if I recall correctly there were analyses of incidents from ERs etc. and as per those data, dachsund and smaller terriers were ahead of those mighty jaws breeds in the amount of destruction they incurred, ahead of GSDs or Dobermans or all the breeds from your list ;) Sure it's not a lot of damage per bite/attack, but they have the numbers and humans' lower level of self-preservation when facing these toy/tiny rascals ;)

We don't know if any given dog is giving his hardest bite while another dog may have given its hardest bite ever. Yes, they use multiple bites to try and make it fair but it seems hard to believe that one dog has a 700+ psi bite while a dog with a large mouth and wider structure has a bite that's hundreds of pounds less. It just seems like it is not an exact enough science to put full faith in it. It seems as though the internet has been the driving force behind bite force numbers more than anything else. I've seen some videos with testing but the devices aren't extremely scientific most times, Great video as always, stay safe.

  • I am pretty into the dogo world and the kangal world having both dogs. I've also had a gamebred pitbull. In the world of bite force it really goes terrier > mastiff > LGDs. Doesn't mean that's the ranking order for fighting dogs, but head size has direct proportionality to bite force and LGDs are often larger than even mastiffs.

    @adammconnolly@adammconnolly2 жыл бұрын
    • If you're interested in very large and very powerful but loyal dogs, look up Kangals or Boz Shepherds. Boz are a bit bigger and more aggressive. High prey drive is not desireable in a livestock guarding dog (LGD) since they would likely chase threats, leaving the flock alone. So they're not great at chasing a ball or hunting an animal. That's why you don't use a pitbull, presa canario, or dogo argentino for guarding sheep/goats etc; they'll leave the flock unguarded. LGDs jobs are to alert, alert, alert and make predators think twice. In the event they're desperate and they still encroach, these dogs will engage. Recommend wolf collars. If you want a more aggressive or prey-driven breed, you want (in order of aggressiveness) caucasian shepherds (guard territories rather than animals, EXTREMELY territorial and aggressive, horrible for families, especially suspicious of strangers), the presa canario who is so raw they'll fight anything, the bully kutta and tosa inu are the 2 best fighting dogs but they don't do anything useful besides kicking other animals asses...and lastly the Dogo Argentino. In my opinion the best "strong" dog ever. Actual MMA fighters. 100+ lbs. Kill pumas 1 v 1. Great with kids. Glued to families. Perfect protection dog. There are more trainable dogs that are also smarter...German Shepherd, Belgian Malinois...but a Dogo would ruin those dogs day. For the same reason we have weight classes in the UFC. The Dogo is not a Heavy Weight puncher. More of a Light Heavyweight wrestler with a perfected ground and pound technique. In other words, there are stronger dogs, but none who can balance the strength, size, protectiveness, speed, agility, explosiveness, intelligence, trainability, and tacticality. Thr Dogo is the ULTIMATE breed.

      @adammconnolly@adammconnolly2 жыл бұрын
    • Indeed. The ancient LGD breeds are all _way_ up there on the bite force list. I've seen a geriatric 90# Great Pyrenees female crack open a large pig femur shockingly fast. But the LGDs may have a less "deadly" bite, because their style is radically different from the catch and pit dogs. LGDs have been selected through skirmishes in open fields with multiple friendlies and often multiple hostiles. They also have different goals - the catch dog is trying to hold onto prey, while the LGD goal is to convince the predators to leave. Committing to a bite makes an LGD vulnerable and leaves their livestock vulnerable.

    • @@adammconnolly There is only one example of a Dogo killing a puma and it was a small sub adult - it did some serious damage to the dogo as well. An equal size puma destroys a dogo one on one. Let us be realistic. Great dog none the less. I disagree with your assessment of dogo being the ultimate breed by a long shot. Sound a little biased. Dogo's suck in the winter. Useless for anyone living in the midwest to central USA and in Canada where there are cold winters. I would take a West German GSD over a dogo any day. They are significantly smarter and more trainable. They can adapt to many different environments. The one difference is that the dogo has an easier coat to maintain vs the GSD. In you LGD assessment, I would have included the Great Pyrenees, Maremma and the Akbash over a Boz. More stable and reliable. Grandparents had a Maremma and a GSD working on their farms at different times. Absolutely brilliant dogs without question especially the GSD.

    • @@c.san.8751 You're right in that there are more trainable dogs, better dogs in various climates such as cold ones, however I disagree that a Puma of equal size always kills a Dogo. It's not just about stats on paper like size, power, number of claws etc. A real hunting dogo will DIE before it quits. When it's not an easy meal, Pumas RUN. If you ever had any reservations about the breed, just pause and remember for a second that Antinio Nores Martinez managed to get pitbull-like prey drive into a MASTIFF. Yes, a MASTIFF sized dog with actual prey drive and a never quit attitude. And there are many times more than one single instance of Dogo killing a puma of equal size. If you search the topic using the languages of countries with terrible animal rights laws you can step out of theory and find many more instances of this than you ever will searching Google or KZhead in English. Morocho wasn't the only Dogo to triumph over a puma of equal size. I agree that Pumas can grow to 180lbs in which case you will need at least 2 or more Dogos. But a puma of equal size, face to face, not only isn't favored but is actually at a disadvantage against a Dogo. Pumas are ambush predators. As such, they wait until prey isn't looking to attack because if they get injured they can no longer hunt. And so they are actually quite fragile and quick to retreat when a fight could mean an injury. When they find themselves in a real fight, and there is nowhere to run, no tree to climb up, you find they are not built for high risk, face to face confrontations with other predatory animals. Dogos don't care if your back is turned or if you're face to face, they win or they die. Period. They don't always, but have on more than one occasion picked apart Kangals, Boz, Tosas, Presas, Bullies, Kuttas, Puma, Wild Boar, etc. They have also lost against many of the aforementioned breeds and species, but aside from the Tosa and the Bully Kutta, they win more than they lose because those 2 breeds are bred strictly for fighting. Viewer discretion is advised on the below evidence. Please don't watch if you have a weak stomach. It is sickening and I do not condone these owners behavior, but it is incontrovertible evidence; dismissing all theory. People who get a little money and see something online they automatically want it, not knowing exactly what it's used for and it would be a shame if rappers wanted to sport kangals or any of the aforementioned breeds above in there videos, it would be a disaster, they wouldn't be able to hold it back. I'm glad turkey is strict with kangal breeding. Sarplaninic is another breed that's extremely powerful and everyone gives credit to Russias precious Caucasian shepherd but not realizing the credit should go to the georgian mountain shepherd and Sarplaninic for making that breed what it is today

If it's a celebrity and that celebrity highlights any one of these breeds of dogs, forget it 😩 I'm 5'6" and when I walk around town with my Central Asian, men are surprised that I can control him but then are also excited by that and want to own one themselves because of how tall and large he is. Almost all of them say, "I want one!" Right. 😒 So you want an independent, killing machine that won't always conform to your will and way? Yeah, I'm sure that will go over well with your ego. No disrespect, Christopher. I just see it a lot. America is big on size, muscle, and bite force...so much so that they forget everything else. With the other breeds you have mentioned, yeah I agree. I'm glad that a lot of these breeds are not well known. I have a Boerboel, and now that it is has been recognized by the AKC, I'm finding more being put in shelters and/or euthanized because of temperament issues. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sigh...it's a shame how humankind exploits things and creatures for the sake of pleasure.

  • I own 2 Rottweilers + a Pitbull and yes Zeke what you said is so right..The Rotties will put their entire body & chest strength into a bite grip,and the Pitbull will not let go.I do believe bite force has nothing to do with how deadly a dog bite could be.Most dogs are not vicious by nature,people make them vicious.Never underestimate any dog small,medium or large.

    • @@freshhbro No, not denying genetics. Research shows the treatment of an animal is paramount & usually the deal-breaker to how it is going to behave. Unfortunately, certain ppl cannot understand or accept this concept, resulting in an out of control or vicious dog, in turn, the dog breed gets to be feared in society & sometimes banned. All bc of the moron human not the dogs genetics

  • Any dog breed that decent from the molasses can have a deadly bite. They are large,powerful and courteous. They were used for guarding and protection. They were also used for dog fights and as gladiators. In the modern world these dogs are not very dangerous provided they have a good owner that treats them right. However if somebody wants to bring out the beast in them it is still there.

      @badtrekee4348@badtrekee43482 жыл бұрын
    • @@badtrekee4348 The dogs I am talking about was used for fighting. They fought agains each other to the death but they also fought bears,wolfs and bulls. They were also used as war dogs in battle. Some of these breeds are today used as herding guards and they go after wolves, leopards and even lions. To name a couple breeds of this kind you have the Turkish Kangal and the South African Boerboel. You also have the Rhodesian ridgeback. Before fighting with animals were banned in France you had the Dogue de Bordeaux called Caporal 1 (The Invincible). He took out two mountain dogs in 5 minutes. An other DDB called Invincible Cesar fought in 1834 on July 6, July 13, July 27, august 24,September 7,September 14,September 21, September 28, and October 5. What temperament. Though the pit bull is a ferocious fighter there are other breeds that are just as fearsome and could take down the pit bull both in speed, force and fighter mentality. By the way the pit bull also descend from the molasses. However dogfights are banned in most of the civilized world and responsible dog owners do not want to have an over aggressive dog in their house. If they do there is probably something wrong with that owner.
