    • That's a Loop Knot, lots of videos on how to tie it but if you know how to tie a Bowline Knot its the same only instead of the rabbit going one time around the tree and back into the hole you go three times around the tree then back into the hole.

  • Disclaimer: I'm the furthest thing from a Tarpon expert. With that being said, a really good guide down there showed me a technique that significantly increased the amount of tarpon I've bought to hand. When the fish settles down, do not pull straight up and down. Keep your rod horizontal to the water and pull the opposite way the fish is swimming. His logic was Tarpon are used to swimming up and down in the water column gulping air etc. Pulling to the side and putting the wood to them cuts down the fight time and gives you a better shot. great video! enjoy your time.

    • Yeah- that's what most of the live bait guys use. That little subwalk lure kinda dies with larger fluoro

  • When I fish for tarpon the lightest I ever go is 60lb, usually I throw 80-130lb. When I’m pulling them from underneath the pier and I’m land based I use 200lb.
