No rock or mineral is ever a waste. They're all beautiful in their own way. Wether we use them and cut and polish or if they're just sitting in my garden, or on my shelf.
💯💥
I collected several tons of varieties that's rather unique. Ty for technique sharing.
@@robertlint4742I’ve done the same over many years. Lots of quartz, granites, rhodochrosites and who knows what beach and river stones. Every stone is a tiny piece of history
Absolutely 💯 agree!😊
GOAT comment.
A keychain? No, it deserves to be a necklace for royalty! So beautiful!
Haha! You can comvert it!
Agreed, I would have faceted it to look like a gemstone and made it into a breast pin or long chained necklace.
Beautiful - yes, it deserves to be a pendant to be worn with pride!!!
That turned out really awesome. I would have never guessed that rock would turn out so beautiful as a cab.
Thanks Rob! It's rare I can find a sagenite so clear. Usually has some color in it or is more milky white. I should have put it in a nicer setting but my daughter claimed it and wanted it as a keychain.
That's beautiful, I agree it should be a pendant on a 36 inch gold chain, I'd buy it!
Wow, that is absolutely stunning. Well done. 👍 from Wales 🏴
Thank you very much!
Beautiful. It's one of those things where when completed you can look into and see a whole world.
Yes! I love rocks like that!
I would’ve done a pendant. That should be seen! Very cool!
You can easily switch chains on it to be a pendant. When i eventually sell items like this in our store i will supply both a key chain ring and a pendant chain.
Bravo! That sagenite is stunning! As well as your work! Great job Jason. I absolutely love this piece✨
Thanks Marlaina!! Im having fun making these things!!
What an incredibly diverse hobby rock and mineral collection is. Seeing the process from collection to manufacturing just adds to its overall beauty! Much respect to you sir!
Thanks Nick! I agree. There's something about knowing where a stone comes from that makes the experience of making or owning lapidary jewrlry that much better.
As someone on the fossil collecting side there’s so much new things to learn and do. That’s what’s great about this hobby, you’ll never master all of it, there’s always something new to learn.
I’m nervous watching him use that blade so close to his fingers!😳
Wow I'd have never guessed that stone was so beautiful & unique. Your work is really well done. Mind blown! 🤯☺️💚
Thank you Debbie!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Pendant with a peek a boo in the back. When the lights hits it, wow!
That was awesome to watch!!! Being zero schooled in geology, I assume the straws you were talking about were the crystal looking lines? If so could they have become full fledged crystals in time? Nature is the most incredible thing ever. A nondescript rock on a beach turned into a beautiful piece in the hands of someone with the knowledge just amazes me. Thank you for sharing your passion!
The straws in tbis stone used to be the crystals of another mineral, likely a zeolite. Quartz replaced the zeolite mineral but took the shape of the zeolite crystal and left behind a more durable mineral. A similar process to how petrified wood is formed.
@@RockhoundingLife Wow, thank you for that explanation! What a cool process. Have you ever worked with Pele’s Tears?
i add my astonishment.Very beautiful
You did a Great Job working this "Beach stone" into a real beauty! Congratulations! ♥️♥️♥️🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Lovely cab!
Thanks Kelly!
Wow, this is beautiful! Kind of looks like the moon too!
We love to beachcomb for rocks along the N. Calif coast. What we have done with our "treasures" is put them in a narrow rectangular container with water, set them by a window, and enjoy the sun shining through. I really enjoyed seeing your creativity and eye for finding novel uses for the rock. This has got me thinking about uses for our "finds" Many thanks for sharing. I enjoy woodworking and making gifts for friends and relatives.
Visitung Northern California and rockhounding there is on my bucket list. Thanks for watching!!
Being a Graduate Gemologist, I have always admired the lapidary arts. Great job!
Wow! Thank you! It's a great hobby.
That is a stunner!
Wow! 😍 If you do more jewelry, people might be willing to pay for Sterling and/or gold-plated mounts- your pieces are worth it! (Maybe by commission? I know that moves costs up!)
These stones can be found at many Loch side/s in Scotland, I just wished I had the skill of what you have to create that peice of art you created! Well done!
Scotland and Nova Scotia (New Scotland), where i am from, used to be joined together in the supercontenant Pangae. We have a lot of the same rock and lithology.
You need more than skill, you need all the expensive equipment.
@@golden.lights.twinkle2329 expensive equipments are precise just gives you what you asked for and delivers.
Don't be put off! Anyone can learn this skill! It's not even hard exactly, just...fiddly, lol! It helps to have lot of attention to detail, a steady hand, and of course, LOTS of patience! Of course, the equipment that you see here is a bit of a killer....but you can do the same thing with much cheaper equipment. It'll just take a lot longer, is all. Better equipment just speeds up the process and makes it easier. See if there's a local lapidary club that you can check out. The people there are often super stoked to talk about their hobby and give you advice on how to start. :D
Fantastic how you found the amazing beauty in that stone! And what a shine!
Thank you kindly
Beautiful cab! It’s great to show folks what goes into the creation of a piece like this. ❤
We agree!
That was freaking awesome. Such a beautiful piece.
Thank you kindly!
That was so cool with the hay like crystal pattern inside. I can't believe it's just polished and that's the actual surface of that pattern. Who knew a rock looks like that!
Gorgeous stone and super polish! Love it!
Thank you! Cheers!
what a beautiful stone. I too brought some rocks with me out of the river that runs through Missoula, Mn. I brought them with me to Germany because I was so fazinated by their beauty. I wonder who would make something beautiful out of them.
This was amazing and very relaxing to watch. Beautiful, something I would buy if I saw it on sale. Thanks for making this video
😱 we don't know the treasures that are hidden! Beautiful 😍❤
I'm very much enjoying watching you make these cabochons and fit them inside settings! That was a beautiful slab and polished rock!
Thanks Julee!! Im enjoying learning and making things!
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!!
Wow! That ordinary beach rock definitely deserved to be revealed. What you did with it is absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you very much!
WOW! That was a surprise!! Beautiful work.
Glad you liked it!
It looks like a painting of a snowflake. Super cool and pretty!
Really beautiful. You have a great eye for this!
Thank you so much!
What a beautiful substance, hidden in the surface rock.
I liked it best at the beginning because of the textural differences. What a cool rock!
Very stunning! ❤❤❤
Looks like a pc of 'Forever Ice'. Quite nice!
Really good find and great vision seeing its potential. Made a great key fob.
the straw like strands in the stone is called rutilated. I have only seen it in quartz jewelry, and in quartz it looks like strands of gold. Both are pretty.
Muito topi !!! Que pedra é essa ?? Muito linda !!!❤
Awesome cab! That was a great find, a lot of ppl go looking for agates and are expecting to see banding and amazing colors. But they have skin like a potato. So even some of the really hit up beaches in places like around lake superior still have treasures left. Not to mention all the great other types of conglomerates, jasper, and granites. And fossils! Great job!! Enjoy watching your process. ~sass
100%. You just never know! Sonetimes the best finds are the ones that blend in and are hard to see on the beach. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely! And your welcome! Glad to see a fellow rockie following his dreams❤
So now you guys are in the jewelry game, love it. You guys rock!!! lol
We dab
@@RockhoundingLife A budding cottage industry. Any plans for a web sight offering your creations?
I think it makes a great keychain to carry everywhere ❤
The stone reminds me of rutilated quartz. You have mad skills sir. RESPECT!😊😊😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Amazing what can hide insight a seemingly ordinary stone.
Totally fascinated with sparkly and shiny things, totally, Caw caw🐦
Crazy, I'm literally wearing a piece I made myself using the exact same setting. Love how sturdy it is.
Yes these bezels are great for making keychains and such. I think for a really nice gemstone though i may splurge on a nicer setting.
Beautifully done!
Thank you very much!
Simply beautiful. I can get hooked on this hobby.
You and me both!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!
@@RockhoundingLife My pleasure!
I have to say that ordinary stone turned out soooooo beautiful bro. Great job man.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
This is a gorgeous stone! I would totally wear that! BEAUTIFUL!!
Gorgeous cab. Beautiful shine. Thanks for another great video Jason
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! 😊
@@RockhoundingLife You're welcome. I'll keep watching for more!
Wow awesome looking gem
I'm only at the edge grinding stage at this comment and it's already stunning!
The back of the bezel could be engraved with whatever message desired or even just initials in a calligraphic font. But then again if the stone were to be polished on both sides, an open back bezel would present all of its beauty. Thanks for sharing the process and this magnificent find.
Thanks Katie! Ive recently toyed with the idea of open back bezels on pieces that are translucent. This would have been a good one for it. Good idea on the engraving. I may start doing that.
Wow, I never would have expected that inside it! It looks just so cool! I am surprised you are cutting it into a circle without using any finger protection. Thank you for sharing!
My saw blade grinds. It does not cut. Its very safe.
@@RockhoundingLife Oh, wow, I apologize. I should have known that you know what you are doing. Your work is fabulous and I am so glad you put some of what you do on You Tube. 🌹
What an absolutely gorgeous gem. And so large.
I like what you have done to this ordinary looking stone. You turned it into something beautiful. Kind regards from the land down under.
Thsnk you Marie!
GORGEOUS!!! Don't need the music....love to see you do this zen!
So many people like the music i can't cut it out. I figured if people dont like the music they could always mute it. Thanks for watching!
Ooh wow!
Looks like ice crystals frozen in glass, gorgeous!
You brought out the best of that rock. It almost looks like bamboo stalks. Very cool! Nice to see a Nova Scotian on KZhead as well!! I'm from Cape Breton.
Thanks! 👍
So satisfying to watch.
How lovely!
That was really beautiful. Makes me hope that some little pebble I pick-up at the beach could turn out like that, but it will never happen in my lifetime. I don't have your skills. Keep making the world more beautiful one stone at a time.
You can easily do this!
I’d like to see the key chain double sided. It’s beautiful.
I wish I had rocks like this where I'm from, Georgia USA. So beautiful
Lovely! You have a good eye.
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
Amazing work, I recently purchased both of those machines, yet to use the cabking. You definitely make it look easy.
Very pretty! Thanks fir sharing.
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous!🥰
Very nice stone button...
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow that is gorgeous.❤
Really gorgeous! Love it! Love the white part as well ! May be u could make something lovely from that as well like a long pendent shape that would be very pretty for a lady ! Love the stone beautiful! RM.
Great idea!!
Beautiful!
Amazing work. What a beautiful piece- - from a rock ! ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow! Beautiful find and you brought out its unique charm. Good job!
Thank you very much!
That’s beautiful! I took lapidary in college and loved it. One time I found a stone with what looks like fairy face inside of it. I made a ring for my mother
Now thats a class i would take!
Absolutely Gorgeous!!
Thank you! 😊
Matches the table lol
Grinding the stone down to fit the pendant template is like making a toothpick from a tree trunk...but it looks amazing!
Not quite but see your point. I try not to waste material. Whatever i can cut off the stone we throw into our tumblers.
Great work. Sublimely done👍
That is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!
Wow! That turned out beautifully! What a gorgeous sagenite agate! And it looked like an awesome key chain! Totally gorgeous! Super nice job on the polish and making sure it was the right size this time! You are getting so much better each time. Fabulous!
Thanks so much! My daughter claimed this one.
@@RockhoundingLife She knows it was awesome! lol!
Beautiful piece! Now I have equipment envy though.
Gorgeous!
Wow! Gorgeous! ❤
Really enjoyed your video especially the notations on the process and grits you used. Will be saving this for my future reference.
Glad it was helpful!
I found a rock thst looked like a space helmet, with a smooth round shape inside of it. It is so extraordinary.
WOW! BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you!
the pattern on the rock look amazing .great job
Thank you! Cheers!
That turned so nice, very cool rock🤩
LOVE it! Great job 👍
Fabulous! I am a rock hound!
