  • Love the way she plays the rough and tumble with the dog, then brings her energy right back down and the dog listens every step of the way. Nice work, handsome dog too.

    • The way any dog should behave with it's "family" rough housing should be fun, and when you say "Enough" is exactly how a dog should react to a Leader!

    • It shows. Their bond is beautiful and the perfect balance of loving play and respect. Your daughter played with her until it started to become too much and then gently and lovingly calmed her down. There wasn’t the need for discipline, just a break from playing and your daughter nailed i The balance perfectly

  • Important aspects one should notice here, in my view: 1. Both are playing, but the play starts and ends with the human choosing it. 2. When play is over, the girls gives an extra command just to make it super clear who is in charge. 3. This produces a more sure of himself dog, happier and safer for the rest of us for the simple reason that it doesnt think its in charge.

Her reaction of being almost *terrified* when he was play biting & rolling around with me was kinda hilarious, she started half-scolding him before realizing he wasn't doing any harm. • @@mollytheboerboel Those people must not have ever had a dog. Or maybe never had a big dog. In my experience, roughhousing with a dog is like sparring at the gym. The dog will play as rough as you. You don't want to be overly rough, the dog won't. You want to get crazy, the dog is only too happy to oblige. They regulate their output based on yours. That makes them very much IN control.

  • We had three Mastiffs they are the best companion dogs they give so much love the only bad thing is they don't live long and you get so attached when they pass it's like loosing a family member. I remember when my Dad had heart surgery we had not had a Mastiff just for the fact my parents didn't want to go through another loss. After the surgery my Dad was not doing very good and I honestly thought he might pass - We decided to get him a Mastiff Puppy to see if that could help him and I kid you not it was LOVE at first sight - one week latter he was a totally different person I could not believe the progress he made and I owe it all to our Mastiff may she rest in peace

  • This breed was created in my country by Afrikaners primarily for the African bush. It is a notoriously aggressive breed which people in my heavy crime ridden country 🇿🇦 like very much because it is just savage. Not friendly with others (humans or dogs) and not trusting around others (unless adequately trained). But around family they are loyal, although due to their designed nature they are known to be stubborn and even snappy toward their owners ever so often. Their temperament needs a very experienced dog owner, one used to large aggressive breeds. They are highly effective African bush guard dogs. And trust me, life in the African wilderness is extreme.

    • Was wondering if it was possible to explain the origin of the Boerbull without slagging of my beloved country as some primitive place with scary animals but this is the internet, you can say whatever you want. From my experience with boerbulls,it was really trained to be vicious towards an animal derogatively named by a word similar to the N-word but here its known as the K-word. Also it was mostly train so in the surburbs, in the rurals or the bushes they were friendly(because they mix with all kinds of persons) and vicious indriscriminately as they are bred to be that way. Cant believe I got sucked into a negative vortex on a wholesome and very beautiful video of a pet and a lovely family. The internet can be toxic indeed.

  • She should just not do this too often and not alone. If she should really think about showing dominance behavior, then she has no chance when she is alone and she is above her. You should always keep that in mind. Mastiffs are no fun dogs. She's certainly very kind and loyal, but animals still have their natural instincts. I hope your dog will continue to be as good as ever. Greetings from Germany! ♥♥♥

  • Now that's what I call a proper owner for the type of breed the dog is. Can bring the dog to excitement stage but turn it off in seconds. While straddling the dog in a dominant fashion. Well done girl ☺️😉

  • One thing that all these "experts on dogs" are, I question forgetting cause it happens, when dogs are palying like such and sneezing, the SNEEZING is how dogs show one another that they are not serious, but playing.

  • A gentle biant. Reminds me of Great Danes. Knew one when I was little. Super gentle and friendly. But could have knocked me over then just by accident. As gentle and playful as Molly is.... I guess you're both careful. Curious. How do you walk her and stop her from suddenly running or jumping on a stranger? Just by verbal commands?? :) I've seen so many people in my area (lots of condo's) with large dogs which are clearly stronger than they are or more athletic. Owers weren't or too young/small (kid). I would see them.....then wonder "What if the dog should (run)...."? Hate to imagine what would happen to that little girl. or the heavy woman....

    • She doesn’t have any interest in strangers unless they are approaching us then she will bark or growl to warn them to keep their distance Boerboels are very protective of their family and Molly is a perfect example very playful with her pack and very weary of strangers

  • What I've found about dogs is they rarely wanna bite. It's always a gnarly growl and showing teeth. I do the same back to my dogs, show my teeth and growl when I'm playing. They do need to know when enough is enough. Easier to train from puppies. And yes you will get nipped, but it's not really the dogs fault.

  • Very impressive how well Molly has been taught that she is NOT pack leader. She listened and behaved accordingly to the verbal and nonverbal training. Playing never escalated into aggression which could so easily do with a dog not as well trained as Molly😃
