is there a way to play wonkey from the start? I saw a dudes video and he had the wonkey on that character selection screen

the more recent DST updates have been quite neat, giving us more sources of cave resources up on the surface, making it easier each time to play on a world with no caves enabled, additionaly giving us a way to transplant some of those resources, like the bananas and reeds (monkeytails)
Woodie just can’t catch a break with all the transforming shenanigans.
The only thing I wanted out of this update was Wilbur, the Monkey King.
We're close but...
this was the perfect opportunity and they MISSED IT

Wilson players seem like the only ones to benefit from transforming into Wonkey. And maybe even that won't be the case once we see the fabled Wilson rework.

Hamlet looks, feels and plays different from all other DS games so it will be hard to do I imagine. They took the canopy idea I guess but even then it's just a canopy because of tall trees and vines over actually being a Hamlet thing so...
@@TheBeard777 they could add the hot air balloon from the intro of hamlet and make it craftable to a new biome and make the clouds able to "fly" through with like a sky boat

I wish woodie had an immunity to curses, he says it’s a familiar feeling and he should be able to resist it like his actual curse
The thing is, he can't resist it...because it's a curse..
It's entirely possible that this curse isn't what we think it is considering where these monkeys appear to be coming from. If they're shooting out of the portal, where did they originate? If they are possessing these trinkets in the first place, are they cursed too? If so, who cursed them?
Merms pigs or Winona Catapults could help with powder monkeys
I came back to the video and thought it was a 15 second video then I saw I watched the whole thing already
Quick tip: If you become Wonkey, just go near eye plants, get killed by then and they will eat the accursed trinkets, then go revive yourself afterwards!
I’m wondering if Wonkey will benefit(or already does) from maybe extra damage with cutlass or the pirate hats or something similar? Seems kinda dull rn maybe he can throw poo at things I just need something more xD

I don’t think it’s possible, docks can only go so far out and if they lose connection to land they all break
Will it be needed to create a new world to get the new island when the update comes or it will be able to spawn even in old worlds?

so what's the specific trigger for a player to not be wonkey anymore? cause if the trigger is trading with the monkey queen when you have less then 5 cursed trinkets, then i could see someone using debug or something to get rid of all cursed trinkets in their inventory so they can play wonkey without the trinkets in their inventory.
You need 0 trinkets after turning into Wonkey.

Wickerbottom rework is probably a couple months away. Next might be the second QoL update.

also a pretty decent solution is destroying the dock tiles with gunpowder it should kill most of the monkeys only ones that should remain are the ones near the queen
I'm not concerned with dock monkeys. It's the ones in the middle of the island that matter most.

For some reason the queen of moon quay is classified as a boss in the game files. Is she able to he fought? Because I haven't been able to do that.

Can you sink the pirate ship during the raid before the monkeys start jumping on to yours?
I used a strident trident in our pirate raid video to cause crazy leaks on them and it did nothing so we'll need something to lower their boats durability FAST in order to sink it.
So if you are a moose as woody and get 10 trinkets. What curse takes priority?
I think when Woody transforms, his inventory is unavailable; maybe those trinkets won’t even get sent to him during that time
You transform into wonkey once Woodie's curse is ending, and you don't transform back during full moon if you're still Wonkey

It's a part of Insight. I just normally have it turned off in the non-Beta branch of the game.

Sure, but you're still not Wanda meaning no extra damage. Also, I'm pretty sure you have to have it already equipped in order to keep it.

you should just be able to be wonkey instead of the curse,like the curse could turn you into a wonkey but you could just become wonkey from the start.
I disagree. There are already a couple of “your this kind of animal so you can control them but pigs attack you” characters. Wonkey seems to just be a temporary character to use if the one you currently just won’t work for a specific strat or something along those lines
