Max Daume was born on the 10th of April 1894 in Küstrin then part of the German Empire. He was a veteran of the First World War, which lasted from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918.
In 1932 Daume became a member of the Nazi Party and later he joined the SS.
On 30 January 1933, Adolf Hitler was appointed Chancellor of Germany by President Paul von Hindenburg.
The Second World War began on 1 September 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. Nazi Germany possessed overwhelming military superiority over Poland. Germany launched the unprovoked attack with an advance force consisting of more than 2,000 tanks supported by nearly 900 bombers and over 400 fighter planes. In all, Germany deployed 60 divisions and nearly 1.5 million men in the invasion. The assault on Poland demonstrated Germany’s ability to combine air power and armor in a new kind of mobile warfare. The world adopted a new term to describe Germany’s successful war tactic: Blitzkrieg, or “lightning war.”

  • Warsaw was not liberated by the Soviets. The Polish resistance bravely fought the Nazis while the Soviets watched from afar.

    • In the summer of1944 the Polish "home army" did a rising, and was defeated by Germans and the "Soviet army looked on". That is true, but it was in 1945 that the Red Army finally took the city.

  • Thank you. Poland remembers German occupation. But just a week ago German ambasador in Warsaw Viktor Elbling sent arrogant tweet suggesting that there was no German occupation of Warsaw during WW2 and that Jews killed by Germans during Ghetto uprising were not victims of Nazi Germany. Another but very recent arogant denial of German responsibility for 6 milion Polish citizens killed during the WW2. Wawer December 1939 massacre victims R.I.P.

    • I highly doubt one of our Politicians would tweet something like that. It would result in so much sh*tstorm, you cant imagine.

    • Elbling DID tweet out apologizing for NAZI REPRESSION in Poland. (Small part of what the Nazis did in Poland.) There was outrage from some.

    • @@Disco-Mike I wish you were right. But when German ambasador is implying that Generalgouverment (German zone of occupation established after 1939 invasion of Poland) equals Poland - he inserted Polish flag instead of Nazi one - this is outraging. If German ambasador Elbing is an idiot he should not be in Warsaw as ambasador, don't you think so. His post (@Amb_Niemiec 19.04.2024 12:34 PM) started with the sentence "Nikt nie może cofnąć zniszczenia żydowskiego życia w Polsce(Polish flag) podczas II wojny światowej." He was very carefully not to mention who exterminated Warsaw Ghetto: German units together with Latvian and Ukrainian collaboration uniits under German command.

Or 75% of humanity ended due to te plague. I know last week of april and first week of may are periods of memorials and liberation days. .
