Mani Ratnam, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. Ratnam has won six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards, six Filmfare Awards South, and numerous awards at various film festivals across the world. In 2002, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, acknowledging his contributions to film.

  • Mani Ratnam Sir ! Been fascinated countless times by his creations. Because : 1. TRAINS ( A weakness of mine 😋) 2. Powerful female characters. 3. Pure emotions, esp. Romance, Patriotism 4. A.R.R 5. Complimented by the best in Screenplay/Cinematography and other technicalities involved.. 6. Except for CCV, I don't remember seeing any foreign locations in his movies. I am a Malayali & we got to see Sukumaran sir in UNAROO & Prithvi in RAVANAN; Mammooka in DALAPATHY & D.Q in OK Kanmani. Pinnae... LALETTAN 🤩 , CHIYAAN.. I wish him luck and really hope he overcomes all the obstacles and complete PONNIYIN SELVAN soon. 🙏
