That Lee Hendrie Episode

This week, Crouch and Chris are joined by the man, the myth, the legend that is Lee Hendrie.
The lads discuss some of the changing room antics that went down during their time at the Villa as well as some of their BIG night outs on the town.
The lads are also privileged enough to to be given an insight in to some of the more difficult periods in Lee’s life and just how he was able to overcome them.
With a career in football that spanned nearly 25 years, it is safe to say Lee has seen more than his fair share both on and off the field with a lot of those antics involving the big man himself.
This could be one of our most entertaining guests of the season so far….

  • Used to speak to Hendrie when I worked in taxi trade, he used to always be out in Sutton Coldfield and even at 3am he was always polite and classy (unlike most customers that time if the morning!)

  • As someone who’s struggled at times too, Hendrie is such a great guy who has come back from such low point in his life.

  • I played in the same Youth team as Lee at Villa, and his ability was scary. It was basically, 'give Henders the ball and let's just step back and watch him!'. I doubt he'd remember me, but I don't think there were too many other gangly 6'2" schoolboys at Villa who were from Bournemouth!! Full credit to him, we were far from mates at Villa, but he's a brilliant pundit and the way he speaks openly about some of his challenges is to be admired.

  • I was a young teenager when Hendrie had his peak years, and i can say he was a top player. He should have definitely gone on to have a career trajectory similar to Lampard, Gerrad, Ferdinand etc in the sense that he would get a big move and win major honours. It was always a mystery how his career never panned out how i thought.
