In this video I unbox and test the #Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 V3 AIO #CPU cooler and compare it to the Phantom Spirit 120 SE. Both coolers are about $40. Which is better?

it's awesome how I was just looking at this AIO on Amazon and your video then popped up when I searched KZhead.
Thanks!
@Haywood-Jablomie thanks for the comment. I hope you found the video informative.
I love how the phantom spirit looks in the dark
Great video This is something I’ve gone back and forth over with my upgrade it’s good to know for sure
Glad to hear it!
Reduce music volume when speaking. Its a bit distracting. Otherwise good video
Hey, how many ports on a fan hub do i need when i have 2 case fans that use a splitter and the aio fans that also use a splitter and the aio itself?
love the vid, usually don’t comment but this was p good
Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback.
Rotate air cooler 90 degrees so it has airflow
What's the link to the thermal paste pattern video??
been using one of their aios for a little while since last year, for how cheap it was compared to the others i found at the time, i definitely didn't expect it to perform so well regardless, good video 👍
Thanks! Yeah Thermalright is super underrated. I appreciate the comment!
How long did it take you to get the contact frame from Ali Express?
Do you thinkg i could use the Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 V3 for my 7 7700x?
Background music is a bit loud.... Thanks for the video very informative
That case was too crowded for that air cooler. It did not have good airflow across its fins. The AIO cooler had room for the radiator to have good airflow across its fins. I think in a larger case the PS120SE would do much better. That being said, good quality video. You gained a sub today.
Where are the screws for mounting the cooler to a Tech Vest?
TechVest is the best vest.
Great comparison
You just got One more subscriber. I'm surprised you were able to mount the AIR cooler in that direction. Can that be done on AM4 & 5 as well? Greetings and good tidings from the Great State of Alaska. Don't let ur meat loaf.
It depends on what cooler and mounting system you have. The stock Wraith coolers from AMD only mount one way, and some of the aftermarket coolers as well.
@@50shadesofbeige88is there any reason for mounting it like that? I always mount them to blow the heat toward the rear exhaust fan.
Audio and quality are just fine 👍 That's the air cooler I use in my current rig on my 5600x3d 💪
It's a great value.
came for the review, died at the Jerry Springer reference! good on you!
love your vid very nice to see this
9:03 THANK GOD. I didn't want to have to REEEEEEE! in your comments AGAIN. 😂😂
Lol
If you'd chosen the Magic Scenic V2 or the Notte, it would've been quieter and much stronger.
But you also have the aio on an open test bench,
Peerless Assassin baby
I just installed the Assassin and was curious how loud it got at full speed...no where near as loud as the Phantom!
+3 intake +3 exhaust for me
not a full tube look at the plungers depth
Sounds like my vacuum.
Agree w/you on thermalpaste.
Like the vid but did not need the music playing over your narrative.
the new thermalright coolers do look nice.
That's pretty interesting. I think I'd be willing to pay marginally more for better results and marginally more for more quiet. So... What's a 60-80 dollar version of these look like?
I'd recommend you look at what the AIOs from Arctic Cooling costs. They are usually pretty cheap and yet they are amongst the best both when talking performance and warranty support. Not always the prettiest though if that matters. they also tend to use thicker radiators than just about all other brands.
kinda strange to mount the fans /and or the tower cooler the wrong way
It only mounts one way. The socket is asymmetrical. It doesn't make sense to shove air into the power supply. Besides, it's an open bench so it doesn't really matter which side of the cooler the fans are mounted on. The path of least resistance will still have plenty of fresh air.
Albeit, I could see how it would come off as strange. I'm not terribly concerned with the orientation of the fans on an open-air bench as long as they're both blowing the same direction. Thanks for commenting.
@@50shadesofbeige88 fighting for Air with the psu is better than giving air to the psu? 😆
@@norkris8729 the other way around wouldn't be ideal too, sucking hot air from the GPU don't strike me as a good idea.
@@iagher but sucking hot air from the GPU is what air coolers does... soo :p
6:29 that's easy peasy. two screws, non spring loaded, no cooler stack in the way yet, yeah wait till you've got the Changlish instructions for a full tower air cooler with TONS of tiny fiddly bits. 🤣🤣 My LGA 1056? 55? whatever, that series Xeon was, yeah it was like that. took me 20 minutes to get everything lined up and NOT get thermal paste ALL OVER, and then find out, oh, wrong screws, then oh, wrong pressure plate orientation, I ended up taking it apart like 3 times. Needless to say I needed paper towels.
no one realized the tower cooler is sideways? wtf... getting air from the power supply and throwing it on the gpu
Yes his reg is dump😂
Has an UNLIGHTSITCKED HEATHEN MAT. :( BLASPHEMY
Heathenmat lol
Thats a pretty unfair comparison, when using the air cooler, your test bench sucks as far as allowing any airflow to the cooler, of course the aio is going to out perform!
I mean honestly, why in the hell would you not rotate the air cooler 90 degrees? lmao
@scooter2shoes the air cooler only mounts one way. You cannot rotate it 90 degrees.
@@50shadesofbeige88 actually if you rotate the 2 brackets where the cooler screws in than it will rotate the cooler 90 °
There really is too little space on either side of the air cooler.
0:30 you assume that I HAVE $40 to spend on PC parts. What If I have $0??? What then MR????? Aren't you supposed to be an engineer? Ok. Then I propose a challenge. Do a $0 build. AND you can't use parts you have laying around, unless you dumpster dived them or found them on the curb. AND on top of that, if you water cool, you have to make your own water cooler, (the piping and solder you can use if you have some on hand) I want to be wildly shocked at your $0 build. 1080p all day baby!
8:28 LOL OH NO! A Fan that has no coil whine and sounds like a fan! WHATEVER SHOULD I DO?????? Meanwhile, in real people problem land, I fire up my 5.25 inch floppy. yall chillens is spoiled. 😋😋
