    • Was waiting to cringe when he started singing and was blown away instead. He nailed it. So many people try to do it in their own voice and it doesn't work. You have to sing it like Kurt with his growl and snarl. That's the biggest part of what made the song so good. He sounded like an angry wolverine and it was shocking because it worked with thrash punk. If you slow the song down and play it "pretty", then yeah you can sing it with a normal voice. But if you play it hard, gotta snarl it.

    • As a 40 year old who played in tons of bands at that age, the kids on stage are doing exactly what they should…which is whatever they want. Pick people up or let them out of the pit are the only rules. It’s a release not a test. So funny to see how much gen x music resonates with gen z.

And it was completely f@cking amazing! 😱🤩 I was listening and loving the various Grunge bands in the late late 80’s early 90’s as a teenager/young adult. The music still means just as much to me (and my musician husband) as it did back then. I think it’s killer that kids in high school and even younger love it too! One of my sons plays in a rock band as well and both of my kids are extremely passionate about music, even their “parents’ music”. I’m ecstatic to have lived during such an incredible time of creativity in music and art and so happy to collectively share it with every generation since the days that we Gen X’ers once ruled the world. Make sure if you haven’t yet to check out the band Killing Joke and specifically listen to the song “ Eighties” which is where Kurt ummm *borrowed* Come As You Are”. You will hear it immediately 😂 Stay Gold Ponyboy! 🙌🎸🙌
