These tips are probably the most useful ones yet! How do you find these things out! 😂 could easily spend a day playing with the car and driving nowhere, love the voice assistant tip to access siri! Great video Nick, have a great weekend 👍
Thanks Kevin! Haha It does take time, as I film throughout the year, if I think of a good idea, I’ll jot it down. And when it comes to making the video, I filter through loads of them down to 10 which I think will apply to as many models as possible. Glad you like them! Thank you! 🤓
So once you press the 2 buttons to open one door how do you undo it ?
Same procedure to put it back the same way as before 🤓
@@npoleary thanks mate I liked the send to the Mercedes’ me I never new about that. I had my key stolen well that was not cheap 🤣

Nick O'Leary does a really nice job explaining the tips and tricks in an easy way to understand, and he doesn't go too fast. Thanks Nick.
Thank you! 🤓🤓
Thanks Nick, I think the double push of the resume to make the car match the current speed limit is gonna be a license saver! Easily some of the best help videos on the net!
Very helpful tips. People can simply call on the "Hey Mercedes" function to demist the windscreen. After a gym session in the evening, when it is sometimes cool, my heavy breathing fogs up the windscreen and I simply instruct "Hey Mercedes" to demist.
How nifty! Intuitive? But very convenient
Thank you for your informative videos, Nick! I genuinely got excited to know about the sending routing info from my iPhone to the car’s navigation. There are moments where the car can’t find a POI, so I end up just using my phone to guide me, but I like using my 2021 GLE’s nav much more. The tip about the car door unlocking during a battery drain scenario and driver side only were also enlightening. Looking forward to more of your tips and tricks and car reviews!
Thank you Andrew! Glad you enjoyed the video! 👍🏼
Just M . .
Everytime I see one of these ‘tip’ videos, there is new stuff. I haven’t even received my Benz yet but because of these tips, I do know more then the salesmen will ever have time to tell me on pick up. Keep up the good work!
Thanks 187roel! Glad you enjoy the Tips & Tricks videos! 👍🏼
These videos are great! I got my new M-B during the pandemic so the sales team weren't allowed to show me how the car worked. The handbook - over 500 pages in tiny print - gives me a headache, so it's brilliant to see the lovely Nick actually showing me all these things that I didn't know my car could do! I now have the courage to try letting it park itself - fabulous!
Thanks Fiona for your kind comments! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! 🤓

Thanks for the “Rest” tip Nick. It’s a standard fitment on my 2018 GLA45, but I’ve never really bothered with it as the instruction manual wasn’t particularly clear on what it did. Now I know I’ll be using that every winter shopping trip. And if the UK summer carries on in similar fashion I’ll probably be using it in August too…..
Haha 😂 typical UK Weather! Thanks Phil, glad you liked the video!
We have had BMW’s from Peter Vardy for 18yrs. There was always so much time spent with us going over new features. Since our 1st Merc from Stratstone, it was paperwork, the basics & next customer. My mindset was to go back to BMW, but I practically have a new Mercedes with all the features I find out from your films. Excellent work, hope you are rewarded well for it, you may just have saved a customer!
Ah awesome! Thanks D A Davidson! Glad you enjoy the videos! Yes I have heard handovers have been tricky over the past year and a bit (if you purchased recently) due to COVID etc. But…I’m glad the videos helped! Which model did you go for? 🤓
Mine handover was exactly the same. I came from many many years of BMW and was left very disappointed with the handover experience. Felt very under valued as a customer. Nicks vids have been a good send. Next car will be a beemer again though.
Thank you Nick!! Very useful, these are the types of functions that typically take two years ownership to find.
Thank you! 🤓👍🏼
I have been binge watching your videos. Thank you so much! You have saved me hours of reading that very boring looking manual.
Oh awesome! Thank you! Glad you enjoy them! 👍🏼🙏
Curiosity, is there a paper manual? My dealer told me I would just need to go online.....
They come with cars in the UK (mine did anyway) Don’t think it’s changed within a year!
After watching you, I said there is no way in the world that I am not following this channel, I subbed immediately because this is one of my most useful KZhead channels ever.

I said the exact thing ..
Thanks Nick, much appreciated, because I could get through 'War and Peace' by Tolstoy, quicker than I could the manual!

Thanks Richard! I know, still speechless by it! 😅 No problem! And you! 🤓
Hi Nick. Thanks for all your had work in putting these together. I always look forward to your next video. Just purchased a 2021 GLE and there is one feature that is not explained well in the available materials from MB and that is Personal Points of Interest. My system indicates that there are none available and it apparently needs a Personal POI file on a USB drive in the form of a gpx file. Can you do a video on creating Personal POIs? I've been to my dealership and contacted MB directly and have not received much useful information. Thanks!
Hey! Thank you and glad you enjoy the videos! 🤓 I have heard of them before but honestly never tried using them as I haven’t ever needed to put a personal point of interest on the system. Reading some information it looks like it varies from country to country and I did find a guide: www.scdb.info/en/installation-mercedes-comand-online/#4-3 Hopefully they may help!
@@npoleary Thanks Nick. I'll check out the guide and hopefully that helps. Thanks so much for your reply!

i’m gonna try these! just got an eqa
Ah awesome! How are you finding it? I would personally love an EQA! 🤓
Hi Nick, not spoken for a while another great informative video as always …quick question have you covered gesture control in cars with MBUX in any detail? If not could you consider this for a future vid. Thanks
Hey Pete, sadly no…I’d love to cover that but it’s only found on literally a couple of models out there. It will feature in the future on my channel! Just when I can get my hands on a car that has it.
Thanks for another informative video Nick 👌👍
No problem Mark! 👍
Great videos Nick. So useful to new Mercedes drivers. I'm 3 weeks into my new Mercedes EQA 250 AMG Line and I'm still discovering things. I was wondering if there is any way to switch off the creep / crawl mode? I could have sworn that the same model I test drove didn't creep, but I could be wrong. I've just come from an EV that didn't creep and I think I prefer that style of driving. I know that creep / crawl mode can be disabled in a Tesla model 3, so I'm wondering if that option is available on the EQA?
Hey Robert, Thank you and glad you like the videos! Unfortunately no it can't be switched off, I would imagine Mercedes have gone down this route to make sure electric feels familiar to people who have never driven one before.
Very useful, these are the types of functions which typically take two years ownership to find.
Ah awesome thank you 😊
Gr8 video nick and quality content as usual. Will try this in my A180 today
Thank you! 😇🙏
Some very helpful tips, especially the driver door unlcock only function. Thanks! P.S I am assuming you do the exact same to go back to the original setting of opening all doors?
Thanks Smiley786! Glad you liked the tips & tricks! Absolutely right, just do it again to revert back to normal 🤓
Cheers Nick, another great video, but could you do some that review older Mercs? Mine is a 2018 350 GLE Night Addition with Command and would love some tuition on the finer points of this car. Cheers and thanks again, Graham

Hi Nick, I love your videos, they are so precise and useful! I have had long term issues with my EU spec A-class 2019 (new model) sedan regarding the A/C. I have read a few forums and many people are having the same issue. It seems to be a defective roof temperature sensor that many have had changed (while in warranty). Unfortunately my warranty ran out sometime this summer. I have reported the issue to my local dealer for 2 years but they have never found any fault. Telling me there is no issue. But the online forums are confirming my theory. Basically the with the A/C on AUTO you need to keep it on low all the time, the moment you go to 16 degrees Celsius the car immediately stars blasting hot air. And I mean hot. I was wondering if you could please kindly tell me if there was any MB RECALL about this situation. Apparently it is also an issue with the C Class among others that have been delivered between 2019 andd 2020. If you find the time, I thank you in advance for your kind reply.
Hey theblondeinitially, thank you! Glad you enjoy them! No really sorry I only review them and offer tutorials on my channel so sadly haven’t ever worked on them like a technician at Mercedes would so I don’t get to hear about recalls. I haven’t heard of any on the A-Class but I’m sure if there were Mercedes would have contacted you and let you know. That does seem quite odd though about the heating and I’m surprised they are saying there’s no fault as that doesn’t sound right at all. Hope you get it sorted!
Thanks for reminding me Nick.
Hi Nick. Thanks for sharing and love your tips and tricks videos. I am a Mercedes owner in Australia. Got a quick question for you. Is there any way that I could move the speedometer to the right hand side on the display behind the steering wheel(main display)? I tried few times and it looks like the speedometer is locked on the left. Not sure if this was true. Thanks for your help. By the way my car is GLC 300 2021 model with MBUX system.
Ah awesome thank you! Glad you love the tips and tricks videos! No sadly speedometer is locked to the left dial only on all models. Good idea though if Mercedes added it in the future!
Awesome video Nick. Thanks very much mate

Hi Nick, love your videos. Regarding themes, how do you get back to the "default" theme? Is there one or do you need to set one up?
Hi Nick, you'll need to set one up so I find it easier to create your own first as then you can roll back to it.
Hi Nick, first of all your videos are always a joy to watch. You have a very pleasant way about you and the information is always very useful. I want to talk about car alarms. Technology sometimes let us down and accidentally the car alarm sounds! And its always early in the morning resulting in sleepy heads peeking through curtains and one embarrassed car owner. This happened to me the other day and I started pressing buttons in the car and on the fob to make it stop, but had to wait the full cycle for it to finish. Do you know a trick on your key fob or in your car to make the sounding of the alarm stop should it go off accidentally. Thanks for our advice, Ron.
Hey Ron, thank you! Glad you enjoy the videos! Hmmm, how strange. A simple unlock will turn the alarm off and then I always open the door. Strange that it had gone off. Have you spoken with your local dealership? Maybe they might be able to run some diagnostics and find out why it’s going off.
Nick, that very helpful! Shame the team at Dartford MB are not like you !!
Thanks Graham! 🤓
brilliant video as always Nick, but as l own a 250e A class, what does the AC/rest button do when lm in electric only mode?
Ah you’ll have an Auxillary Heater button! Your heating can stay on longer and even use the A/C But… Just bear in mind it’ll use your battery up (your range) unless you’re plugged in of course!
Another good video. Tip 1 👍 awesome as Me App mapping doesn’t always show the same details as iPhone map; tip 6 I’ll use this winter.
Awesome thanks Neil! 🤓
Great video and tips! One question is how to get apple car play? I have the CLA premium plus but not sure how/ if this is possible
Hi Ali it depends on your spec, model & year. What year is your CLA? 🤓
Nce one Nick, thanks. I love your last tip, hands free tailgate opening..... when I bought mine, the lady at Mercedes could not open it, she had not got the knack..... I have, after a little humiliation trying to show off to the kids!
Haha awesome! It’s all down to the kick gesture! I’ve seen people do dances before at the back and almost fall over. Just a simple kick in and out fairly quickly will do it 🤓
Thank you Nick.
No problem! 🤓
Awesome tips, thx mate!
Thanks norton009 🤓
Hi Nick, thanks for all the videos you post they are very informative. Due to pick up a GLB to replace a ‘69 Karoq. My question is, I can currently scroll through trip data via the multifunction steering wheel such as speed, time travelled, fuel range, etc. Is there a similar thing within the display set up on the main display, a similar scroll option.
You sure can! I actually made a video on the instrument cluster here if you wanted to check it out: kzhead.info/sun/qralepx8fKSfa6c/bejne.html
@@npoleary that was perfect thanks. Keep the videos coming they’re a great help. Oh one other question, is it possible to test the cars alarm. Hopefully there’ll never be a reason to hear it go off but that’s my point, if you don’t know what it sounds like you never know if it’s actually yours going off. Anyway looking forward to picking up the GLBeast tomorrow. Cheers G
Thanks Graham! Will do! Only way I’ve done it before is to sit in the car and lock it, wait a minute and then move around. It is quite loud stood next to the car outside! Just press unlock and it’ll switch off and go back to normal
@@npoleary 😄 I’ll give it a go. Cheers.
Hi Nick, I enjoy watching your videos, very well presented, professionally informative. I have just purchased a 2019 A class.A200 AMG Premium. Love the car. Regarding the key charging in the car, does the key have to lay flat or just in the vicinity. Regards Gary
Hi Gary, thank you! Glad you like the videos! I’ve heard of this before but I’m sure this isn’t available in the UK because key batteries are changed at service intervals like normal, and the batteries inserted are not rechargeable ones so I don’t think it’s available here.
@@npoleary Thanks Nick, looking forward to the next video.👍😁
Excited to try these but have to wait till November till I get my Mercedes. Thank you covid and delivery delays.
It’ll be worth the wait Justin! 🤓
I have a new 2024 GLS 450 and the keyless open tailgate kick function worked when first purchased 4 wks ago but not now, is there a simple fix? Hard to find on website only infers hitting lock & unlock button same time to reset? Thanks for great videos, hope they are rewarding you well, very informative and educational.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, hmmm strange I haven’t seen a GLS for quite a while so not sure if it’s different. Are you doing the correct gesture? Simple kick forward and backward not left to right.
Very informative video and greatly needed.
Thank you! 🤓

Thanks Roger! 😎
Great video, very helpful.
Thank you!
Hi Nick. Thanks for this informative video. One question. If your key battery dies and you open door as described the alarm will sound as you state. How do you turn it off, press start button?
Yes that’s right, either unlock the car with the key (if you have power in the key) or put the key in the right hand cup holder and press the start/stop button 🤓
Nice video and useful.for the new C class do you have any?
Hey Panagiwtis, Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! Sadly the C-Class still hasn’t arrived in the UK in their showrooms yet. I managed to get my hands on one for a first impressions though a little while back: kzhead.info/sun/eJeMf5SgcHdmeKc/bejne.html

Thanks Nick, your vides have been super helpful. I just got a new 2024 GLE 350, but the "Themes on MBUX" option is missing. Is that expected in newer models?
Hey thank you! Sadly not been in a GLE yet but I hope to soon! It’s the same multimedia system MBUX NTG 7 as my car so there are pre-set themes for the instrument cluster. Press home and swipe left & right for that one 🤓
@@npoleary Thank you for your response. Yes, familiar with the pre-set options, but I feel the Themes shown in this video are much more advance. Hope they provide software update in GLE in future to get this feature.

@@npoleary Selenite Grey metalic, I just need to check a few more things out with the dealer when I collect it like what comes free with Mercedes Me, that looks really interesting. when I looked at a few things online about my old merc and problems I was having it gave me choices for a w212 or a w204. What does that mean and what are the differences?
Ooo nice! I think they’re just model years, in Mercedes there are quite a few!
