Tamar completely embarrassed herself on this show. She really let that little fame get to her head, constantly downplayed Toni's contributions, and disrespected everyone around her only to have a 2-3 year run in music. Now she's just stuck in the revolving door of reality show after reality show. She really sabotaged herself, meanwhile Toni is almost 40 years in. Humility goes a long way.
Her personality is why she'd never get to Toni's level. Toni is media trained and knows how to carry herself.

I started watching the show because of Toni Braxton. I didn't even know anything about her sisters other than she had sisters. Toni definitely taught her sisters the business. No one would have offered them a contract or a TV show without Toni. But we all know Tamar would never accept that. That's just how she is.

I remember the song "if u don't want to love me" didn't even know she was related to Toni. She just went by Tamar, what was probably an attempt to not ride Toni's coat-tail... But that was it. She couldn't make her own success individually. It took BVF and for that Tamar should be grateful. Can't believe she downplayed Toni's role in giving her a platform to be successful.
I knew she had sisters because I remember the Braxtons did an album in the 90s. Tamar also dropped a solo album in the early 2000s and it flopped. None of them blew up until BFV, which only happened because Toni agreed to do the show. Tamar talking this bs is disrespectful to Toni for the door she opened for her sisters.
I only knew Towanda as her sister..she was on a reality show because she was on probation for writing bad checks & stealing...she had to do it for classes as part of her probation...it was called starting over (in the 90's) I think

Yet Tamar has four Grammy nominations, a BET award, 2-3 soul train awards, etc. She has great albums, she wrote almost all of her songs, she co-wrote for Toni, and she’s also mastered the art of being a vocalist. She’s still accomplished no matter if she isn’t as successful. Through all of this, she is bigger than Toni as of now 👀

I'm glad Trina did not allow Toni to just let that type of disrespect go and defended her. It's not about not being to prove who you are and letting your work speak for itself it's about principle for her youngest sister to blatantly disrespect her and disregard the hard work Toni put in the industry for years before her career was even thought of. Ofcourse they all have their own individual careers but had it not been for Tony carrying that family to success for nearly 20 years they wouldn't be in a position that they are in now. Which is why a few seasons later Toni said that she does not like her family and if they weren't her family they wouldn't be her friends because the way they use her and do not show any level of appreciation.
