    @NunyaB1s@NunyaB1s12 күн бұрын
    • All those folks (cuckoo, loopop, pikant) as part of the shillverse are technically also working for elektron, receiving gear and early access yet not disclosing anything as a sponsorship, that’s a huge ethics loophole that KZhead should adress, the usual “This company send me their stuff but they are not telling me what to say” is laughable… in other areas of tech some KZheadrs had addressed this and made changes but in music production is honestly a disgrace, and I like the Digitakt 2 by the way, it’s not about this particular product… Ricky is doing the right thing by letting us know about his bias, but next time he reviews a product by another company he should be CLEAR: the moment you accept anything from any manufacturer you are biased, even if they don’t send a script…

      @aoterou@aoterou12 күн бұрын
    • @@aoterou it’s not shilling when you’re literally teaching how to use a thing. Shilling is when you just do a surface gloss over the product and high fiving the marketing team. All of the three I mentioned (which you also mentioned) call out product drawbacks and usually provide workarounds. They represent a high bar for review content. All of whom also disclose when they get a product for free. All of whom have warned me against products that don’t fit with my use case.

      @NunyaB1s@NunyaB1s12 күн бұрын
    • @@NunyaB1smy point is not that their videos are not useful, it is that those videos should be labeled as sponsored content, do you think loopop or cuckoo would give a negative review of a brand that is so popular and giving them those kind of privileges? Of course not, the other day I saw the only honest review of the Polyend Play+ in all youtube by a guy (I forgot his name but he’s an American dude with glasses) basically explaining this, he couldn’t give an honest opinion if he wanted to have early access and free stufff from Polyend… and I’ve witnessed first hand how youtubers in the shillverse gloss over very obvious flaws in gear I own. As I said, it is an Ethical issue and in other areas of KZhead, creators have taken this approach: if it’s free stuff or early access, the video is labeled as sponsorship, otherwise they buy everything (and then return it)… and I am not saying the brands are doing anything wrong, in fact, kudos to their Mkt department for exploiting this loophole.

  • I know this might sound weird in a way, but to be honest, I appreciate what you said - and that you didn’t do a review-ish video on the box. Please, don’t get me wrong: of course a review by you would’ve been appreciated too, as you do have a way to explain and talk about stuff that I really like and which is great to follow (as far as I am concerned). That said, I have to admit that I really, really love the videos you do about workflows, along with those where you just jam and have good fun - as this spirit of yours when you’re into creating and explaining comes across in those videos in a way that inspires me to get off the couch and try something myself. Of course, in the end it was and totally is up to you what your videos are about: it is your channel, and you sure are at your best when you create what you feel like creating. And I, for one, would like to thank you for all the time you are putting into this: Thank you very much, Ricky!

  • Can you give me any insight, or information on why it doesn't have any XLR/Combo jack inputs, USB-C, or an SD card slot? Well, besides just cost? It's a good update on the previous one, but two of those are standard features on many devices right now (the upload speed is so slow for a current generation device), and the other one would have just made sense as a quality of life upgrade.
