    • I agree. I'd love to see the process for making the main board as well as how to make the inlay panels. I always trip myself up with the math involved on making the panels.

    • Can’t speak for him, but having done this kind of inlay with both a manual veneer press and a vacuum press with breather mesh, go with the vacuum. Depending on how your veneer press is designed, because some of the inlay pieces may have a small surface area, pressure might get applied to the piece in unexpected or uneven ways that can cause the inlay piece to pop out or be pressed unevenly. I only had it happen a couple of times, but that was more than enough. With the vacuum approach (versus a top platten), the breather mesh will ensure that pressure is applied evenly and conforms to the shape of each male inlay.

    • Sure, the approximate size is 24x2x1 inches, and the finished boards are usually 2 or 3 inches thick.
