Château and Gardens of Villandry: the gardens of abundance | FULL DOCUMENTARY
The castle was built in the early 16th century and was the last renaissance style castle to be built in the Loire Valley. Without going inside the castle, you can view the courtyard, which has galleries on both sides and exquisitely detailed windows.
While seeing fewer visitors than the gardens, the interior of the Château de Villandry is nonetheless very interesting.
The furniture dates from the 18th century, when the majority of the interior was remodeled.
Attractions include the staircase, a stunning mauresque ceiling in one of the chambers, and the castle keep's panoramas of the grounds.
