Vaporwave is so transportive. Each subgenre gives you a completely new but also familiar feel too. Mallsoft makes you feel like youre in an abandoned mall, late night lo fi makes you think of a glitching/fuzzy psychedelic CRT tv with hues of pink/blue/purple, Dreampunk makes you feel like youre in Blade Runner, Vaportrap feels like a mid/late 90s video game (specifically Blank Banshee 0), Slushwave gives me the vibe of being lost in some sort of oversaturated desert, Future funk feels like a night under a disco ball in downtown tokyo, broken transmission feels like youre in a liminal space, and the eccojams style stuff feels like youre in your 1980s nissan 300zx driving on a road trip at night but your cassette keeps skipping/warping.

When I listen to vaporwave it reminds me of a memory of being with my mom in the 80s when I was a little girl and her taking me to work at the hair salon she worked at and then running errands. It’s basically what my memory of those times sound like… going to a lawyers office that has modernist artwork on the walls and music plays quietly in the waiting room but I can’t really remember exactly what it sounded like so it’s distorted or following her around the store Vanity at the mall with the black and white checker floor and pastel pink and teal painted walls while she searches for something to wear out to the bar on Friday night with her friends… that’s what it is for me. The sound of a distorted memory of my childhood in the 80s.

My brother and sister were there, my cousins were there, and we were all just having fun before going outside to hide-n-seek, or tag or what have you.

Bc a lot of popular vaporwave these days is minor key
Can confirm
I actually feel the opposite, I can only handle it when I’m not feeling that way
This served me for my existential doubts of today.
Vaporwave makes you feel like youre the main character in a commercial
1990s New York City is a different world entirely.
I get nostalgic for a time I wasn't born in.
Sample: Alexander O Neal - Hear Say Absolutely one of my ALL TIME favorite R&B classics
It is truly a transcending experience.
The further away from reality, the clearer my mind
Makes me tear up when I was young I used to fall asleep with an old radio playing then would wake up at 2 in the morning to static like that and could barely hear anything. Sure miss them days 😢
perfectly edited!
as much as your videos are… this man has saved me so many times and your videos literally saves lives… i fucking love your stuff🥹 if you are a vaporwave lover, jason sanders is a literal one stop shop… definitely check his videos out!
Yo, It’s you! 🥹 Regularly Scheduled Programming is a great mix
Music for the funeral of the perfect world we could have had..
I’ve lived a thousand lives I’ve never seen before, thanks to Vaporwave.
it's the augmented reality of music, but stuck in a blissful timeloop drenched with consumable pleasure
My favorite electronic genre.
Such an underrated song
Some says it makes them nostalgic of a time they weren't born. I was there and it makes me nostalgic of a time I haven't appreciated enough back in the days.
To me it is the sound of a distorted memory from my childhood in the 80s
@@samtron5000 It sounds much more 90s to me. The 80s was more knitted, and brown. Purple shellsuits on daytime tv came later
I keep telling myself it’s okay to surrender to vaporwave, all I have to do is say yes.
Vaporwave is like a depressing save game room in the real word, when you start with the music, you can save or lost some feels about past or future, also i feel a depressoft sensation, because i miss all the old data storages, and tech, now is very weird,
if you like vaporwave that reminds you of 90s videogames then this should be right up your alley kzhead.info/sun/hcytdNCkpXNqbHk/bejne.html
So very true. It's 9:30 and the day is almost over. Getting high and nodding off, these are the visions in my mind.
It reminds me of when I was a pre-teen playing "Grand Theft Autho: Vice City". My brother and sister were there, my cousins were there, and we were all just having fun before going outside to hide-n-seek, or tag or what have you. It reminds me of times where I didn't have to worry until I grew up and life hit me. The innocence of us all ... I miss those days.
Fr fr fr fr fr fr, man. For me... It takes me back to college not knowing where Im going or what im doing. Staring at the city lights, as I got distracted from another assignment I can't even remember by now...
When i listen to such music, i always think about my beloved, i feel like she has always been there, with me, in my childhood, in memories, that warms me. She's older than me, but i'll never exchange her on anybody else, never. For me it's a gift, that was given just like that, like God wanted to do something beautiful and right, and he given me Her. My tiny little Mouse..
everytime i listen vaporwave i feel like i am a rich italian american chilling in the pool of his mansion
i just wanna drive and blast some vaporwave during a sunset. i'd be the coolest driver ever lol.
Been listening to vaporwave for nearly a decade now, still have my love and taste for the genre 😊
I'll probably be listening to Vaporwave even when I'll be in my 70s :) such a pleasure I get from this genre. Thanks for watching.
Vaporwave is a bizzare yet unique style of music or even presecptive in my honest POV listening to it is such a futuristic, & grid lookin' vibe :)
Good choice of the track and visuals. I'm so glad i discovered vaporwave, it literally changed my perspective on life and made me more in peace with myself.
So true! It just sounds like cruising through the city at night...
You perfectly got the vibe I imagined, I've been listening and been part of the community that is Vaporwave and I just never want to leave it as another comment said too, I love the multiple subgenres that exist, I like all of them almost equally and It's sad that I never was around at this time to experience what Vaporwave is basing it's all artform on, though I'm still happy to experience it in another completely different way
Thanks for the comment. Like I said before as well, "Once you get the taste of it, you never forget it". Vaporwave forever. Have a good day.
Alexander O Neal - Hearsay.
there's always this sense of wideness in vaporwave songs
I found this genre completely random and while i still dont know many good channels that upload stuff, vaporwave is the first genre i actually enjoy
Start with Vaporwave Memory, Jason Sanders, Sound Station, Dream Corp
you get it man
Vaporwave is that abandoned Miami mall…Vaporwave is Liminality.
Imagine someone in san diego buys an fm radio station in Tijuana just to play vaporwave
Ahggggh, shit. I'm hooked. Why'd you make this video only 5min? You knew I'd be needing more.
Do you ever see in your dreams...THERE'S NOBODY HERE...
that was such a good edit!! and explains exactly what vapor wave is oldie music slowed down in a trance like way!!! its the best feeling ever!!!
You even pour bottled water into another cup, like a true consumer. Well done
Honestly I got hit by a wave of goosebumps when the music kicked in. Love it.
Thank you.
Vaporwave make me feel like im waiting outside a club in the 80s 😂
(Also: Hearsay - Alexander O’Neal) Fantastic artist.
Vaporwave really is something else. It’s great to listen too especially when the world around us is falling apart. It definitely ain’t pre 2012 anymore… it’s great to think about the past when the present ain’t so bright. Personally and overall.
Reminds me of when I lived in Detroit .downtown of course
drinking water and eating nanners all day, a life that few can claim to have
Such a vibe
I was surprised at first when the guy fell asleep listening to Vaporwave before the cut to NYC footage.
Reminiscence of Tomorrow
Pad Chennington is responsible for getting me into vaporwave. A couple of his videos popped up here on KZhead and I was curious. I love that expansive '80s/'90s nostalgic sound.
I don’t know if there is a brown note, but I’m real damn sure there is a blue note. There’s a video around nine minutes long with a montage of the Twin Towers with a vaporwave of the WTC version of “How Deep Is Your Love” and one note always makes me start to tear up.
Perfectly explained. ありがとう
Also, beautiful footage. Both the beginning and end.
I love this!!!
Sehr gut gemacht.🫡💎
Thank you ❤
Awesome songs and intro, i was feel in house of my parents! ❤

Vaporwave is dead. Long live vaporwave.
I really appreciate that there were no lines in this
Great song btw
This guy gets it.
i promise you that this video is gonna blow up soon
Nailed it
Oh hell yeah!
theres something in our generation that did not exist before. its the internet. our generation is the bridge between a life WITH and WITHOUT the internet. when you where very young all this did not exist but now it seems that every child will be born into it. very special generation and THATS why vaporwave will never die, nor the 80's n 90's nostalgia. these times where the frontiers before we say goodbye to the age of not having internet. vaporwave especially protovapor manages to capture what many of us feel and didnt even know about it vaporwave community is characterized by PURITY and although proto-vapor relies on recycling stuff, it strangely feelt so unique, parthenogenic. what a wave!
Nice one!
