  • Not to mention one of the main appeals of the mod for new players is the new stuff and exploration, but to not die immediately you need to know the mechanics of all the mods and the structures that you find, so you end up already knowing what's gonna be in the structures you wanted to explore

When i played it for the first time i quickly found out this isn't supposed to be chill and relaxing like the vanilla game, its supposed to give you all the gamer rage. also its hilarious when you find a new place, go there and instantly get jumped by 20 different mobs then game greets you with a goofy death message but satisfying when you slowly progress and get better and those stuff can't kill you anymore.

    • @@cyr0_gd you don't slowly get better though, anytime you leave an area you know how to survive in you die and learn nothing. Anytime you enter a structure with nothing on you just to get experience on how to play, you die. Anytime you try something new without knowing exactly how to do it, you die, and there's no in-game way to tell how to survive. You genuinely just have to look it up and watch other people do it in order to play, much less have any fun

    • @@pigmaster1367 ah fair, i understand it isn't suited for that type of play style. me personally, I don't like games that tell what a player needs to do right away. I see reading the wikis of a game as a part of it rather than spoiler content so i don't really rely on game to tell me how to play, i just want to know things on my own. Like in order to play a game you have to close the game and learn about it. it's like reading the manual when you're assembling something. You get the feeling of accomplishment when it's done and have fun building it while knowing what you're doing.

    • The fastest time for beating all bosses in RLCraft is actually 16 minutes 33 seconds. One thing is that alot of early game steps like this and even crafting weapons and armor can be skipped by finding a village and other structures. It's actually a really cool modpack. Once you know a ton of stuff about the modpack, its still very unfair but it's much easier to get progress.

    • Yes, but game never becomes fair. Even with best trinkets, armor, weapons (+ forging their quality, and enchanting them) you still can get fucked by a bunch of spectres, especially in the end. And let's just forget that Scape and Run: Parasites exist, because they all don't care if you have a good armor or not.

    • You can also just right click on the top of the log with your axe. It gives a random amount and takes durability but you don't have to wait until you get iron to do it.

  • If you don’t spawn on a dragon nest, or in the middle of the ocean, and get stunned and sucked in by sirens then have sea serpents 200 pumping you in the head, I’d say you would have a pretty spawn location.

  • Dude made it sound much more miserable than it is, I mean it only takes like 2 minutes with a nice spawn, also there are a ton of structures that contain a crafting table and allow you to skip flint entirely and get stone right away, but that does involve luck.

  • As someone who’s killed all the lycanite bosses in the modpack in 3 different worlds, this is the RLCraft experience summarized: The whole thing about RLCraft is at first, you’re flimsy as hell and need to get lifesteal and more health as soon as possible. But after that, killing a dragon isn’t too hard when you realize you can use a pike and fire resistance (just dodge the chunky fireballs) to cheese them. After that, you’re good… until you enter -hell- the lost cities. Scape and Run: Parasites are already OP, but the config multiplied their health, damage, and armor by 4. But chug an invis pot, max out stealth, and bring luck magnification, and the ring of the dragons will be yours. Now start grinding and removing enchants at a disenchant table and turn some nunchuks into a nuke that rips the lycanite bosses to shreds. If you want, kill a buncha parasites to make sentient weapons instead. Long story short, you go from being tickled to death to having to actually try if you want to die.

  • I actually played with this modpack when I was a kid, it lagged so hard in my old pc, but I still loved the mod, I still remember like spawning mobs and then using weapons from creative mode and then killing them, so many fun memories.

  • I’ve played a lot of RL craft and the main draw of the modpack is exploring and dungeon crawling. Exploring finds you many structures, like villages, that will straight up give you a full tool set of wooden and or stone tools of spawn, so you can skip this phase. The two different leveling systems in the mod permanently make you stronger so random bush monsters appearing aren’t a threat anymore.

  • I actually survived like 17 days or so without dying. You just need to know how to. The flint knife gives you easy plant fiber, so you just need to collect more and make them into wool which can go into being a bed after you also break the tree.

  • The biggest problem is to me if you don't have a set spawn, your spawn will just change randomly, and it could be good or terrible. I played rl craft once and died and spawned right next to a sea serpent thing and died instantly.
