  • I don’t understand how you can put on a shot clock when you take 10 shots back to back, and the other guy doesn’t even get one caution and he didn’t even go for one attempt for a takedown. He didn’t shoot even once and didn’t get put on a shot clock. But JB constantly changing levels and shooting and the ref keeps telling him he need more action from him. 🤔

    @FlyOnTheWall10101@FlyOnTheWall101014 жыл бұрын

      @oldeenglish64@oldeenglish644 жыл бұрын
  • Like it or not, JB does his “bullying” while the clock is running, when he can be cautioned and penalized for it. At the end he could’ve used Gomez as a prop to push up on, but he didn’t cause the match is over. He didn’t react negatively to the guy picking his ankle after, because the match is over, he’s won. After being at the top of the sport for this long, having a growing family and ambassador status, he’s gotta be fully aware, calculating and in control during competitions.

    @JermaineBrantley@JermaineBrantley4 жыл бұрын
    • Absolutely spot on Jermaine. But I think Franklin took exception to Burroughs when Jordan pushed his head down to the mat with both hands, rather than just placing them on his back and waiting for the whistle after Jordan's last takedown. I think that's why Franklin grabbed his ankle anger the whistle at the end. Burroughs playing a great mental game...

      @rudysoliz4879@rudysoliz48794 жыл бұрын
    • Not disagreeing with either of you guys, but watch again to see some next level head butting the entire match. This "head hand defense" stuff flys in high level competition, but is it dirty? I wouldnt want a piece of it that's all i know.

      @christopherbishop5853@christopherbishop58534 жыл бұрын
    • Rudy Soliz Christopher Bishop Oh yeah, there was a lot of “extra” going on in this match from both wrestlers! (maybe more from JB with posting on his Gomez’s head...) I recognize the extra stuff that’s used to send a message. The refs sort that stuff out. As long as they’re calling it even, and it doesn’t turn into a WWE match, it doesn’t bother me. In combative sports you have to match your opponents intensity. If not, then you better be exponentially more skilled than they are. The skill gap is usually not that big between world class competitors. Start looking for the ref to help you, then your opponent is probably in your head. See if he can take what he’s dishing out and let the refs do their job. Of course I’m a little biased because Burroughs is one of my favorite athletes...

    • @@olie1023 Right at about 9:02 (of this video) 'it looks like' JB's right foot is loosely on a few of the fingers of Gomez's left hand. Interestingly, I didn't notice JB ever see Gomez's hand go back to the matt as he stood up. - Although Gomez right hand seems to initiate the pick before/ just when his fingers were stepped on. - At the same time, JB didn't seem to surprised by it, so I doubt he didn't know that his foot 'happened to find it's way' onto fingers. Hehe. Both guys got their extras in. Ref didn't involve himself more than he should have. I have no problem with THEM playing like that.

    • Reffing freestyle is a lot more challenging than it seems, compared to folk style. There are so many different things that refs have to look and account for, which can cause them to often mess up scoring, this is why each freestyle match has 3 referee's in total. One Judge on the mat, one at the score table, and another at a separate table. The mat referee's calls will not always stand, and can be overturned or confirmed by side judges, which is likely what happened in this sequence. You can also challenge in freestyle

  • And that ladies and gents is how you mentally break someone, he knew he lost so he had to try to start a issue, just take the L and get back to the drawing board. Good job JB went out there and did your thing even had the respect to shake hands and leave it all on the Matt

  • I just realized this is the same Franklin Gomez that went to Michigan St. and won an NCAA title. Holy shit, he gained a lot of weight.

  • I haven’t watched wrestling in a year cause Serving my country comes before a wrestling match. I had to go read the rules for world matches like this. I thought something has changed in that year. All those shots he was taking and he got put on the clock. I thought I missed new rule changes or something.

  • What the heck was that warning and caution to JB for hitting the head? Looked clean to me unless there is a new rule that I'm unaware of
