Your mystery birds are black-necked stilts. They're out of their typical range. Fascinating!
I thought they may be snow geese but the long legs back in flight took me off that one.
I'll second the black-necked stilt.
How did you know? Impressive
Agree with Stilts, but my Peterson bird book shows coastal Alabama as a normal year-round range for them?
Not true. Stilts come inland often.
Seeing Moby be timid is so strange, I give it 2 days! His world just got a lot bigger, that turtle encounter was amazing, definitely was his first time seeing one
Yeah that was cool to see
I think Moby was sizing up that turtle and trying to figure out if it would fit in his mouth!
@@steingat 😂
Moby to the turtle: 👁️👄👁️
The turtle says to moby; 👇🏽Thissmy block 🧐 CJ! 😂😂
Man, I wanna shed a tear whenever you let these old school fish go into the pond! They’re still around, but you may never see many of them again with how great your ecosystem is
This is the only series on KZhead I following consistently. I can’t wait to see you catching 8+ pound bass in a couple years. God bless you and your family
I could say the same ❤
Me 3
Me 4
Me 5
Me 6 Been here from the git. As far as algae ever thought of putting vetiver in the shallows or even a vetiver float? They clean ponds very well, could probably add a plant to the duck house fairly easy.
It truly makes me happy to see Moby in his new home, being curious and checking out his new roommates.
9:11 the way his eyes move, so curious. I never thought Moby was cute before lol. What a personality.
The new bird pair are black-necked stilts. They're called "stilts" because of their very long legs, whose color varies slightly in the orange/yellow range. They are common to the entire Atlantic and Gulf coastline from southern New Jersey all the way to south Texas, inland up the Mississippi River, and also present in California and several other western states. Since you live very close to the Alabama coast, it's not unusual to see them. They like coastal marshland, but will also explore inland for similar marshland, especially following swampy river systems from the coast (like the Mississippi River). You have a lot of nearby swampy marshland and you're fairly close to the Alabama coast. They're treating your pond as just another convenient body of water to wade in looking for food, very similar to how herons hunt.
It has been and continues to be such an interesting thing to watch your channel and the various ecosystems you have created and care you have given them to thrive. I had a 150 gallon saltwater tank growing up and feeding the fish as well as keeping their habitat healthy for them was quite a task. To watch you do the same on a much bigger level is so impressive and amazing. The addition of caring for the four legged creatures as well as the feathered friends is on a different level and so fun to watch. Bamabass is next level.
I gotta say it's hard to make projects like this boring but you go above and beyond and make it spectacular. Every little detail you include paints a beautiful picture of this living art
How is this man not at a million subs yet????
Because people love drama. This is totally wholesome and drama-free. His subscribers are the non-drama King/Queen types.
Moby might be the most aggressive fish I've ever seen 😅 but Tiger seems to really be following in his footsteps ♥️😂
“Look Ma, I made it!” exclaims Moby. Glad to see the transition go without fail. These videos definitely start my week off with breath of fresh air.
Let’s go moby is finally going into the backyard pond
Really enjoyed this update - and as a city guy I am absolutely amazed at all the wild life you've attracted to your pond! It was also fascinating to learn of Moby's history - he sure is a monster! Congratulations on all these successes - and I look forward to more!
I binge watched the whole series in 3 night shifts and then had to wait a week for the next episode and it honestly sucked having to wait…. Love this series !
He posts once every 14 days.
Imagine watching from before the pond .. like me
Honestly, I don't keep up with when he posts because I'm just so happy when he does!
This is your boss … come to my off tomorrow night when you get in
I have been watching this series since it’s beginning and it’s become my favorite! I get so excited when I get a notification of a new video ! The content is totally amazing and I thank you for sharing this experience with us all !!
Made me realize how long I have been following you I remember when you caught moby and can’t believe it’s already been a year since you stocked the pond
the most invested i’ve been in any youtube series, so calming yet intriguing
I could watch moby swim in the pond all day i swear
He used to have a live stream of the backyard pond a while back.
@@shindanu I know! it was so cool to see his pet catfish shadow come out and hunt at night but he directed all his attention 😟to the pond. 😕
Intelligent fish
the fish with the red spot could be sick
Favourite part of my days when Bama uploads!
Never end this series please! I could watch it everyday.
Lookin forward to the Adventures of Moby in the backyard pond. That turtle better watch out, he might become the next snack.
This has been cool to watch from the beginning. You put cameras in all of the right places and narrate your videos nicely Good job man
Great job as always. Those birds at 13:10 are probably Black-necked stilts (Himantopus mexicanus).
Did a bit of digging to see if I could identify it, and Black-necked stilt is what I came up with too! Cheers!
@@steev927 Thanks for the confirmation. Cheers!
Wouldn't be a proper Sunday evening without a a nice tall drink, bowl of ice cream and BamaBass video updates
By far my favorite KZhead channel for fish n pond builds if I ever hit the lottery I want to do this but for now I’m just rockin with my pool setup
After seeing the red spots I did a bunch of googling and came up on something called “hemorrhagic septicemia” which is a bacterial disease in fish. Might be worth looking into since it was on two of the ones you caught
Red blood spots are also common with bass during spawning season, where the tail gets damage from stirring up the gravel
@@BenTForkx yeah I found that as well but the photos from that didn’t match as well as hemorrhagic septicemia. The sores from that looked more like human skin injuries and were indenting blisters and red marks whereas these are very round blood blisters protruding from the fish and not just at the tail
@@BenTForkx injuries from making a nest would be more irregular and have bleed over. I’m sure he’s probably looking into it though and will have an update and later video.
Moby’s gonna raise some hell in the 5 acre pond!
he's going to the backyard pond though?
Well eventually he’s gonna be there
@@NITROZ_99 in theory he never will go to the pond , atleast thats what they said , he will remain in the backyard pond because they want to keep it closer
@@NikoMoraKamu thats a little sad though:( His potential to become a top predator would be fun to spectate
Congrats Moby you absolute beast! Play nice with everyone now ya hear
My husband and I live on a massive pond, don't know how many acres it is but we get that yucky algae build up too if it's hot days on end without rain. Even if we get one all day rain it's not enough, it has to be two to three days of rain to break up that algae. We share the pond with about 9 other properties. Lots of turtles, our neighbor stocked the pond with bass. Herons, river otters, frogs, Canadian geese, mallard ducks. Just a never ending plethora of wildlife. We love it
There is NOTHING more exciting than hearing “Folks at home.” The dopamine rush is REAL when these videos drop. I live in Cali but I’m from Shorter/Tuskegee and grew up fishing Damn near daily. This channel represents everything I aspire to have-as well as a small ranch to grow my own food and raise my own protein sources. I truly thank y’all for the inspiration.
Yoooo meet me at the Macon county dog track🤣🤣🤣
@@johnmoore5553 ayoooooo! Victoryland used to be that place 😂😂😂
I really love your videos. It's awesome how much effort you put in. You are pretty much living my dream!
I know exactly how you feel. I’ve made that same comment. This is my dream home.
I think it's most people's dream, but we are a few million dollars short 🙂
I don’t think I have ever seen an animal as aggressive as moby. He is so interesting.
That bird is a Black- Crowned Night Heron. Man you're doing it right you're gonna have the greatest pond in the State. We are learning so much from you Sir. Roll Tide I was born in Tuscaloosa
Seeing how Moby has grown is incredible. Do you have plan to move him into the pond at the farm at some point in time?
Its good to see the fish doing great. Glad to see Moby doing good in his new pond.
Such exciting times at the pond! Can't thank you enough for sharing this experience with us.
Love the update, i know your family is proud of it!
Loved the footage, cant wait to see more of Moby in the backyard pond 👍🏾👍🏾
Can't wait to see Moby grow some more in the backyard pond. I'd like to see you put some of the new bass fry in the 50 gallon tank to see how they do.
The ecosystem you have created is absolutely beautiful! Wish I could’ve grown up in such a awesome place.
Thanks for sharing your story. This is fun to watch progress.
Never fail to disapoint these vids can't wait to see whats in this 1 keep up the good work
Great stuff! Fun to see Moby and Tiger react to seeing you walk into the room. I'm betting that Moby will still approach you in the pond. CHEERS!
Since you have no fish in Moby's old tank and have the water level down you could use spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide to kill the black beard algae. After a few minutes to hours you could refill tank and have it ready. However id wait a few days with water only in the tank as the dying algae may cause an ammonia spike/mini cycle of the beneficial bacteria colony in the tank. Really enjoy all you guys do thanks so much! If anyone sees this please help get this comment noticed as it would save them lots of time. Thanks
My favorite part was Moby checking out the turtle like some rescued shelter pet enjoying a new farm 😊
Wow I can’t believe its been a whole year since you stocked the bass! It feels like you just broke ground on the pond, time really flies. Love the videos!
I've been watching before you got Moby so happy to see him going to the pond
I hooe oliver is doing great you are just at tbe start of a great family you are a great dad and your kids will have so much fun growing up
for black beard algae, you can also lower the water level and spray with hydrogen peroxide. fill aquarium back up with water and add shrimp or guppies. it will die and they will eat it.
Love the content, wholesome and pleasant in a not so nice world. Every time I start up a video my dog comes running cause he loves to watch all the wildlife footage, Keep it up! looking forward to seeing how moby does in his new pond
Been waiting over a year for this! 😭SO EXCITED FOR MOBY! LET’S GO!!!!
I am absolutely addicted to your videos! I find myself checking every day to see if you have posted a new video. I am a BamaBass addict!!!
I'm finally caught up on this series and so excited for a new episode! Excited to see Moby into his new home!
*Can the bird be a Black-necked Stilt? Looks sort of like one. Hard to tell*
Love this series!!!!
Your pond is the best. Love your ongoing creature projects and weekly updates! Thanks for sharing. I'm sure there's tons of other people like me living out their pond lifestyle dreams vicariously through you :)
Good luck Moby I we hope you grow big and happy!!! 🐟
I wish you the best of luck with the "Black Beard." I have been battling this menace in my tank for the past two years and I have had no luck, it just keeps coming back. Loved the history on Moby!!!!!!!
Try 50/50 Hydrogen Peroxide and Seachem Flourish in a small spray bottle that mists. You can spray a couple sprays underwater directly on it. Dont spray a bottle full in one day. 4 or 5 spots today and spray some more in another couple of days..Dont mix a lot because in about 2-3 days its not any good anymore. The BB will turn purple in a couple of days and dissapear. I learned to cut my lights back and feed a little less and try to find the sweet spot where the algae stops growing. Hopefully that will help.
That’s awesome! Glad for him! Was waiting for this vid :-)
You've done an incredible amount of work with the creation of your pond, all sorts of animals appreciating the pond. May I suggest planting some shade trees for the pond edge. I'm unfamiliar with American trees but they will provide cover and help keep the water cooler. Well done.
I could watch a live cam of Moby in the pond for hours! Thank you for this series! ❤
loved every single episode of this series. i’d love to get a chance to win a trip to come out and get a tour of it with you. a great name for a bass would be Tank!
just me or I wish I could do anything like this?
The new birds are Black-necked Stilts. They breed along the Gulf Coast. They even breed in some of the large marshes here in Wisconsin. The Gulls are Laughing Gulls.
This is just the most beautiful Oasis ever
How long do you think you are going to do updates on the 5 acre pond for?
Years I hope!!
I hope forever lol
are the red spots natural or a disease?
Curious too, wonder how Copper got those red spots on the tail.
Right on time
1 day soon, this place will have absolute giants In it. Congrats on all your success over the years. It’s been fun watching. You’ve poured a ton of hard work into this channel and your rewards are showing.
What a legend Moby is, great job with the pond.
I absolutely love your channel. I enjoy watching the journey these fish go through as they grow. I thank you for explaining everything about what you are doing.
I have been waiting for this video ever since you first mentioned Moby was destined for the backyard pond. Liking before watching and no one can stop me.
Yes!!! This moment was on my mind for 3 days! Was hoping the video was coming today and it did!🎉
Also i will enjoy moby in his new pond and will enjoy watching being moved to the big pond..
I just love everything about this youtube series. You are a true legend brother!
Moby has outgrown his space just about as fast I outgrew pants in my teenage years. I've been a follower since the beginning stages of digging out the pond. The pond looks beautiful and most of all peaceful. I think Moby will definitely be the new Sheriff in the pond. I enjoy the videos. Many, many thanks.
Gotta say, you have the most positive comment section I've seen. Love your channel.
Absolutely love the content…always fun to see a new episode.
The black and white birds flying around are Black-necked Stilts. Sweet find! Love the videos! ~Benjamin
Really enjoy watching ur videos..I think it's really nice that you are so good to all the animals ..it makes me smile every time I watch them..wish I started watching ur videos a long time ago..truly amazing ..
I can't wait for the next video. I look forward to seeing these every time
Been watching the pond build since day 1 . Excited to see those pond bass getting big
i didnt think i was going to watch a 'this is your life' for a fish today but there you go - 10/10 content would watch again.
Moby is the top G of the pond life!. That sounds good. You should market products stating "Pond Life" like they have for salt life. I bet you'd move it
I am so glad Moby got moved to bigger living spaces. Thanks for sharing, may God bless you all.
One of my favorite videos to date-finally seeing Moby released into his new home, the algae battling, and your assessment of the warm/cold water “air conditioner” in the pond. I’ve loved your channel for years and thankful that you continue to share all of this with us.
It's so awesome to se all the technology. Tracking and all is so interesting. Ultimately, it's a fisin' pond, and wow it looks good or that already.
Quickly became my favorite series lately.
What a fabulous job , you've done making that pond, the wildlife coming into the area all arriving now too
love this series. i remember you catching moby. time flies
Thanks for all the great videos , This is the only channel I actually start looking for on Sunday .
Wish I could go back to when i found this channel and rewatch everything
One of my favorite channels on KZhead!
Moby is why I subscribed. Hope he does well out there! Looks amazing. I’m jealous of the pond 100%
