This was Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Michael for your grandparents.
Nope great grandparents my grandma and grandpa were born in the 1960s my great grandparents were born in the 1930s and both are alive somehow?
👍
And it'll be Chucky vs. Annabelle vs. The Boy for our kids.
@@user-fi6uj8pk4q Either Freddy or Jason would eat Michael Myers for breakfast!
...and a couple of loveable, and insanely hilarious goofs, thrown in for good measure!
I love how they were able to comedy through Bud and Lou yet maintain the seriousness of the established monster lore up to that point . Wolfman diving off the balcony to get Dracula is a great image .
That is what makes this one of the greatest horror comedies ever, matched only by Young Frankenstein.
You’re absolutely correct the movie was a success universal it was in serious trouble in bankruptcy but what happened was the movie it was so success a good university out of bankruptcy awesome movie…💀🎃
@@franklujan8304it’s ironic you mentioned this because years ago before this film, Universal in the early 1930’s was going downhill in financial gane and yet when they decided to launch (from the silent films era but with talking pictures) they took a chance with monster films starting with DRACULAAA 🧛♂️ ⚰️ and that movie gave great financial success in the theaters that Universal continued there Monster genres “which in turn”saved Universal Pictures from financial ruined. The Monsters saved the films industry🎉 🎥 🎞️ 🥂
Dracula's reaction when Chick accidentally knocked henchwoman out 😂
0:49 you mean the way he just watches her unconscious body like “hey, why you dead?”
The funniest confrontation between 2 natural enemies, a werewolf & a vampire.
The way they evaded the Frankenstein monster time and time again ... we have to give them some credit!!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Pure Comedy Gold 😂
Yes!!
It's already credited as one of the greatest things ever in cinema
The look on Costello's face when he sees that Talbot has changed into the Wolfman. 😄😄😄😄😄😄
😂
It's a pretty interesting plot point in this that Talbot wants to stop Dracula, but knows he can't control the werewolf transformation. So he's really just trying to get into a position where he can _aim_ the werewolf transformation at Dracula and rely on the fact that it's too wild to be controlled, can overpower the vampire physically and is immune to the effects of being bitten if that happens. Decades before Bruce Banner "aims" the Hulk
Hey, how do you do italics?
Excellent comment.
@@henrybrowne7248 underscore on either side of the word So _ the word _ _comes out looking like this_
@@Telcontar86 Cool. Thanks.
I'm not sure if it was intentional, but there are some similarities between the Hulk and Frankenstein/The Wolf Man. Kind of a mix of both. Bruce experiences transformations into a monster that is really strong and hurts people unintentionally. Plus both Frankenstein and the Hulk are green.
As a kid I geek spasmed watching the Wolfman fight Dracula! This was a special era of moviemaking where fan service came across as almost completely accidental. These days we would’ve gotten a three-way fight between Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Wolfman lol although I wish that was the case I appreciate this scene in it’s originality just the same!
Glen strange is strong
I have a vague memory of a fight between Frankenstein and the wolfman in one of the old movies
@@bradleylyle9607 Frankenstein us a scientist how would he fight wolf man or Dracula?
@@bentonmarcum8924 Yes, there is one. I don't remember which one, though, but I've seen it.
@@bentonmarcum8924 Well, waddaya know. Right there in my KZhead feed: Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man. 1943.
Right at the end of this film, Vincent Price plays The Invisible Man.

"ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF I AM THE INVISIBLE MAN, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA". Would've been great if he was in Abbott and Costello meets the Invisible Man.

The end of an era of classic universal horror stars
Until they made it's Final Universal Monster in 1954.
@@megalon73 which was what??
@@tubucoco Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) did you know that! Everyone knows that.
@@megalon73 everyone from that era you mean. 😆 Also, who was in the creature from the Black Lagoons suit or costume??
@@tubucoco It’s a suit! Well, I say it’s a suit more then a costume. But the man who made this comment saying “End of an Era”. I say No! Because, The Gill-Man is the one that End of an Era.
Its the coolest thing to see Dracula & Wolfman get it on. Reminds me of how much of a classic horror movie fan/ wolf man fan i was a kid back in the 90s
I always find it fascinating how they were able to blend the comedy and horror of each scene together so well without one overshadowing the other. If you pay attention to certain parts of the scenes you’ll find it hilarious while if you pay attention to other parts it’ll seem like a genuine monster flick.
A must watch every october. Maybe the best classic movie monster of all time because it encompasses everyone. Glenn Strange scared the heck out of me when I was a kid. Such an awesome classic
Long Chaney Jr's Portrayal of Larry Lawrence Talbot is my favorite interpretation of The Wolfman Benecio Del Toro did exceptionally good in the remake but I also like the Original too😁
No it doesn't! They should've had the mummy in this one. It would've been perfect! Hey, wait! Even the Gill Man!
this is apprently the only time Bela Lugosi reprised his role of Dracula. pretty interesting tbh lol
The only time in the movies. He performed in numerous productions of the play.
That's a piece a trivia that has won me several free drinks over the years
Yeah, he was supposed to be the original Frankenstein monster too, but he wound up playing the part of Igor. Boris Karloff became Frankenstein's monster, I'm glad it worked out that way because I can't imagine Lugosi as Frankenstein's monster.
@@tubucoco Lugosi played the Monster in Frankenstein meet the Wolfman.
@@empathyedits8809 yeah, I know and it wasn't good. Boris Karloff was much better.
0:57-1:47. Pretty good suspense; real intense. When Lou sees that Talbot has changed, his mind flashes back what Talbot told him. Good thing his legs were free.
Lou: You WEREN'T lying... you really DO turn into a wolf when the moon is full!!!
1:05 1:10 1:15 Lawrence Talbot transforms into The Wolf Man 4:57 Dracula turns into a bat in an attempt to escape, but 5:00 The Wolf Man sacrifices himself to kill Dracula (which was the most heroic The Wolf Man had done, especially from all the murders he committed before it). 1:32 1:35 1:40 Dracula and The Wolf Man start their battle 1:44 The Wolf Man chases Dracula 2:38 Costello/Wilbur: Chick, do you believe me now? 2:40 Abbott/Chick: Yes. 2:41 The Monster kills Sandra 2:49 Chick frees Wilbur and run away from The Monster. 2:57 Chick and Wilbur tried to barricade the door. 3:10 The Monster enters the room 3:24 Chick and Wilbur escaped The Monster, 3:28 3:31 but now encounter the battle between Dracula and The Wolf Man. 3:34 They re-encounter The Monster. 3:40 Then Dracula and The Wolf Man again. 3:47 3:49 3:54 Then they’re caught in between The Monster and the battle between Dracula and The Wolf Man. 3:57 Wilbur fools The Monster by pretending to be Dracula until 4:08 he goofs it up. 4:35 Chick and Wilbur managed to lock The Monster into the other room until 4:41 4:47 he frees himself.
It's cool, because Talbot was dedicated to stopping Dracula and Frankenstein at the beginning of the film. And at the end, even in wolf form, he delivers!
@@belabelasko8223 Exactly.
The Wolfman was a hero monster in this film,he also attacked Mr.McDoogle as well earlier and he assaulted Costello about his “missing” exhibits!
It would have been cool and funny if they showed him biting into the bat 🦇 when he grabbed it. I've got you, and now I think I'll eat you. Lol
1:06 “What are you looking out the window for? Somebody else coming after me?” 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
3:52 is the best part of this whole scene. Just casually as they’re running for their life, Lou’s over here like “Hey, would you take a look at that! Oh, right-” **continues panicking**
3:51 Never gets old.
Another movie that came close to the original Frankenstein movie for me next to Young Frankenstein, this definitely is a classsic movie never gets boring seeing Abbott and Costello in different situations i have to say Glenn Strange portrayed to monster amazingly well
Boris Karloff actually gave him tips on how to play him.
One of the best sequences ever. The editing, the music and the action all come together flawlessly.
What you looking out the window for? Love that line.
Any relation to 'Harvey'?
I love the expression by Dracula when Chick knocks out his henchwoman as if to say "Cant you do anything right woman!" lol
0:49 “vhy are you dead?” 😂
I always loved werewolves so The Wolfman is my most favorite monster and horror character of all time!!!
Same. If it wasn’t for the Wolfman we wouldn’t have An American Werewolf In London, nor the Howling, nor even the Wolfman remake.
@@sirorliktheironclad You got that right homie!!!
I made a tradition out of watching this on Saturday nights with my sons when they were young. Just as I did with my father when I was young while watching Dr shock in Philly.
It must have so difficult for actor Glen Strange to keep a straight face and not laugh his head off running around after Bud and Lou!!!! Lol!!!!🤣🤣🤣
There's a film on KZhead "A&C meet Frankenstein Bloopers". At about the 7:00 mark you can see just that.
The tablecloth trick was also great. So funny.
Living proof that background music makes a difference! Also - Back back back. Yes master. He thinks im Dracula
4:54 If only Dracula hadn't wasted time chucking that object, he'd have easily escaped & left behind an angry Wolfman.
I love it they played the monster mash it was a graveyard smash
This was Fun to watch 😊 worried Abbott and Costello would get caught by The Frankenstein Monster. Loved seeing Dracula and Wolfman fighting 💯
4:38 I can’t stop laughing.
That was a real punch to the head Lou took. It's what he got for refusing to stand on his mark.

Lou would have been toast if 3 people didn't show up at just the right time to free him-- beautifully visual sequence!
After Karloff, Glenn Strange looked the best in the Frankenstein monster make-up. Even Jack Pierce, the make-up artist who created most of the Universal monsters, said that Strange had the perfect face for the monster. If you were a "monster-kid" growing up in the 1960s, it was mostly Glenn Strange's Frankenstein image that was used in the marketing of toys, models, magazines, board games, etc. during the "monster craze" of that era.
I wonder if he changed his name for this movie... It's a strange sort of name unless you're looking for a gimmick to get these roles..
@@hoborock007 LOL Good point. I may be wrong, but I think that was his real name. He appeared in LOTS of westerns in the thirties and forties before playing Frankenstein's monster. His gaunt, craggy face was perfect for that genre as well.
@@movierun ...thanks ...that sounds right
@@movierun Maybe so, but Fred Gwynne also looked good made up as Herman Munster.
@@kevinmiller6380 I forgot about Herman Munster! You're right...Gwynne had a great face for that makeup. I'd put him up there with Karloff and Strange.
2:47 Glenn Strange hurt his ankle, so Lon Chaney Jr. briefly stepped in as the Frankenstein monster.
Glenn Strange played the monster until there was a leg injury he had, so the scene were the women was thrown out the window was played by Lon Chaney jr as the monster
Yep, that's Lon throwing Lenore Aubert's stunt double out the window and then knocking aside the gurney. He offered to do that so that the production wasn't held up too much until Glenn could return.
Costello: Well, we got'im. Also Costello: *Fucking dies*
I love the ridiculousness of it all. 👏😆
Fun fact: Glenn Strange got injured on the set, and Lon Chaney stepped in, got into full makeup, and completed his scenes.
Man what a sequence of events after 3:23 😂 wolfman dracula fight including hurling a potted plant. Then running our the room into another monster, reminds me of classic Scooby-Doo
It was movies like 'Abbott and Costello Meets Frankenstein' that helped make us younger kids brave enough to watch them.. when l was growing up
Dracula lowkey not playing around like he old but still throws if he has to 😂
" I'll Always Love you Hayden Panettiere "
Best horror comedy to this day. Perfect Halloween movie you can even show to kids.
When Wolfman grabs Bat Dracula XD
3:10 Oh he can get in 😂😂😂😂😂
“He thinks I’m Dracula.” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Costello is about to get Monster Mashed for sure.
Damn that chair to the head was a bit too personal
Unbelievable all time classic 🤘🤘🤘
2:28 - 2:30 Henchwoman: Back! Back!
Great Frank Skinner score.
This was the last movie of the Monsterverse started with Dracula and Frankenstein back in 1931
Glenn Strange injured himself throwing "Dr Mornay" out the window (it looks like the stuntwoman landed on the ledge outside the window, too). This threatened to hold up production, when Lon Chaney, who had played Frankenstein before, offered to do it. At 2:47 you can see him dressed as the Monster, filling in for Strange.
Now I HAVE to watch this
3:06 too funy
the wolfman bodied frankenstein in a earlier film.... and he had dracula running for his life in this one..... Wolfman is the hero of these movies.
Guess we learnt a new Vampire weakness today 🤣Throw out the Window 🤣
It was really funny when Wilbur kicked the wolf man in the butt, he thought he was Chick in a wolf man mask..he told him " get up" and take that mask off..then he realized it wasn't Chick he took off running! Lol...too funny!!
1:50 one of the Monster’s bolts gets loose. One of the mistakes in this great movie
Awesome the monster mash 💀🖤💀🖤
Even in human form talbot is quite tough
Yes. Considering the fact that Sandra Mornay was a vampire here, and vampires have the strength of many men, he is.
@@fernandasanchezayala7841 it's crazy
Absolute favorite
I always wondered if the frankenstein monster got involved sooner in the fight, would he have taken out the wolfman?
This is like running around the police department in resident evil 2😂
Man when the Dr gets thrown out the window that was a real shock for a 10 yr old watching a comedy!!! But I think they got away with it cuz she was in fact at that point a vampire!!!!
4:07 Face palm
These Guys are classic Costello was the True showstopper excellent comedy.
The makeup in those times was remarkable!!!, Even for its time!!!!
Imagine if the Three Stooges were in this film instead of Abbott and Costello?
toda una verdadera joya esta pelicula!!!🧛🌒🐺
Well..I Guess If I Was Gonna Have My Brain Removed I’d Would Want A Beautiful Doctor To Do It…lol 😮
And now… here comes Frankenstein
2:23 man screaming, but he is Shutting.
Here's something that most movie secrets that you don't want to know Is Lon Chaney Jr that was transformed into the wolfman where Frankenstein way laying is because Glenn Strange started feeling better With his ankle and continued to play his role....so the idea was they waited a few days till Glenn Strange got better and Continued shooting The Movie.....
2:41
I’m writing a story that’s a spiritual successor to the Darkstalkers games, except it’s more focused on the universal monsters and fairytales being combined with an anime look. I explicitly loved the Sandra character, and my Victor Frankensteins team was a nod tot his movie and young Frankenstein, where he had a beautiful wife and actually treated the creature right like in Van Helsing, but the main evil vampire killed his wife and the creatures soon to be bride before both their eyes and killed Victor himself. His assistants Igor and the Sandra nod were supposed to be killed as well yet they appear later and are to believe their story the she made genetic enhancements that extended their lives. In reality, they both had been taking vampire blood turning them into ghouls, vampiric like creatures that had been leapfrogging through time to find and deceive the monster in the hopes of bringing him back to the vampire lords possession. This movie impacted me so much as a kid, I had to have her die by the Frankenstein monster, named Adam, throwing her out a window. Although in his defense, she and Igor betrayed him, and he gave her a chance but she drugged him and tried to stab him with a scalpel leaving him little choice.

Re-Watching this scene again and again, Cassandra. Really had it coming!!! (2:41) for helping, Dracula. and trying kill a good man like, Wilbur. Frankenstein's Monster. made the Most shocking and satisfying kill in The Universe Era.

Which is more worse than running from a monster chasing you or avoiding two monsters fighting each other is the question
Man, Underworld looks different than I remember.
Glenn strange was definitely the heir apparent playing the monster after Karloff. Wish he would've been in the other classic Frankenstein films after karloff.
This action sequence is masterfully blocked and choreographed!! So much going on onscreen with little to no dialogue...
