Thanks to a recent tip, investigators are looking at a 1991 unsolved murder as being possibly linked to the robbery of 13 famous artworks from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Anthony Amore, the museum’s head of security, joined Jim Braude to discuss the latest developments in the notorious case.

  • The guard RA was personal close friend of mine at the time … I’m the one who gave him the dead tix to go to the show the next night … he had nothin to do with the robbery … nothin … he died of cancer 3 weeks ago … this thing haunted his whole life … rest in peace my friend

  • The thieves spent 81 minutes in the museum. It seems like they knew no police were coming. They knew the buzzer at the guard desk was the only device that alerted the outside world something was wrong in the museum. How did they know this? There had to be inside help.

  • If the time has run out, why wouldn't the guard now tell if he was involved?

  • There is a reasonable chance the artwork was hidden within the museum. Missing sensor data and 81 minutes + the museum is not allowed to touch anything based on the terms of the Will. according to the guard the robbers said to him one of them said "we'll be in contact in 12 months" if their motivation was ransom money for the return of the artwork, why take a risk attempting to hide and go through all of that when the safest place would be to hide it within the museum knowing that the Will would be forfeit if anything was touched. Rhat's what I would have done.

  • From what I've read of this case, the actions of the security guard are incredibly suspicious. I would like to know if the guards took polygraph tests regarding their involvement

    @Yette@Yette2 жыл бұрын
    • polygraph tests are not an accurate measure of if someone is lying or not. There has been many cases where criminals who are very good at masking lies pass them with flying colours.

    • It’s been awhile since I listened to the Boston Globe series podcast (Last Seen), but I believe the authorities thought the guard was more into holding wild parties than being in on the heist himself. Doesn’t mean that someone couldn’t have used him without him being fully cognizant of what was going on.

  • So let me get this straight BOTH security guards saw the robbers faces for at least five minutes yet cant identify them from the police photo's of the enumerate amount of suspects ?

    @BuyersEstateAgent@BuyersEstateAgent Жыл бұрын
    • You're an idiot. Suspects are only people who have been caught committing a crime. There are PLENTY of criminals who do very specific jobs, are paid very well and rarely get caught. So why would their photos be there?

    • They were threatened. And also, they were promised a reward if they kept their mouth shut too. I’m sure they could ID the perps but they made a calculated decision to not risk their lives or family lives. Whether the risk was real or not, that is not relevant as the guards would not truly know

    • That older man, in charge of operation, is db cooper. 200% with his sons. Humans are creature of habit buy actions he wrote The Ransom note to the art museum just like he did with DB Cooper taunting them and laughing at them he didn't want the money in either case why pull off a robbery or a burglary like that and not sell anything anywhere worldwide it's untraceable art not only is the United States government looking for it but other countries will put your head off and cut it off just to have possession of it

    • In reality art is not worth anything it's a piece of paper that was made by some person many years ago why is it millions of dollars

      @kasbah6717@kasbah671724 күн бұрын
    • 13 pieces of art most of them were cut out or destroyed why does it take 81 minutes to decide what to steal you've already staked it out you know what you're going to take it shouldn't take an hour and a half that means that they took time to bury the art in the basement

      @kasbah6717@kasbah671724 күн бұрын
    • If you were those guys actually doing the robbery why would you go into a room take a piece of art roll it up bring it out to the car come back and go for another piece roll it up and then take it out to the car( it looks by the timing of an hour and a half ,that day individually would have removed each piece ) not that heavy for 2 guys.why not bundle. Even then, 30 mins max........its a burglary of secured area, supv. Call....possible cameras hooked to police...anyways....NOT 1 HR 20 MINS. They went back down to the basement to tell the security that they would reward them to keep their mouths shut why even go back down to the basement you got the art get the f*** out of there but no they were hanging out way too long this is a burial on property if this was an action movie I miss starred Indiana Jones he would be looking for that buried treasure it's buried in the basement of the art museum all but three items the vase the Napoleon flag top and the sketch of the guy at the cafe
