I will say they definitely undersold the A's offense. I've been especially impressed by Tyler Nevin and Ruiz's new power swing after being called back up, as well as Noda, langeliers and more
Jordan Hicks isn't the only breakout star on the Giants rotation either. Keaton Winn has been incredible, he's only given up 1 run in each if his last 3 starts, the start before that he only gave up 2 runs. He really reminds me of Matt Cain right now. The Giants are gonna have some really tough decisions to make when Cobb and Ray return. They might want to trade for another bat.
Keaton Winn pitch mix each start is hilarious. If he can locate his 90mph(!) splitter down in the zone, he will throw it all day and no one will barrel it. He’s working with Cobb on getting it more consistent (he’s said he’s been gripping it too hard), and in-game he makes great adjustments if it’s not working.
Trevor nailed it in the booth this past weekend. I wouldn't mind if he called some more Twins games
Just read the Summer sausage wiki entry -- it tells you all you need to know. "Summer sausage is an American term for a sausage that can be kept without refrigeration until opened." At which point dugout celebration roughhousing hi-jinks cause it to be technically considered "opened" is going to be judgment call.
Yeah, I wonder what the industry standards are for summer sausage seals. Surely, no manufacturer is anticipating that their product will be traveling all over the place, spending large chunks of time in hot weather outside and being regularly passed between athletes like a nerf football. Could there be funky air pockets taking a toll? Whatever's happening with it seems to be a far cry from being stored in a pantry, so I suspect it could be more prone to spoilage than the average summer sausage.

I was upset when the Jays didn't resign Hicks, but more upset when I heard he went to the Giants because they were one of the few teams or maybe only one that would allow him to be a starter. Jays could have certainly used him starting... happy for him, good guy it seems and now living the dream as a starter.

Jordan Hicks biggest changes this year? Throwing first pitch strikes and staying in advantageous counts. The other is a Verlander style approach. We know he’s got a fast arm but he’ll start a game throwing 92-94mph. If he’s in a jam and needs swing and miss, he’ll hit 98mph. Even as his pitch count goes up over 70. It’s pretty exciting, must see stuff.
