  • Kongo’s always been the most frightened looking killer I’ve ever seen in the cage. You’d think after all these years he’d be a little more comfortable with the striking distance.

  • Man. TWO last second submissions. One at the end of the 1st, one at the end of the 2nd. Decent night for Bellator from what I saw!

    • 5 fights finished with less than a minute left in the round (3 fights had 3 seconds or less left in the round) 1 finish just after the 1st minute of the 1st round 3 decisions And all of the last minute stoppages seemed legit!

  • He really squeezed the last drop on that round, take him 3 mins to recover some strength just to stand up. This made me remember Ali vs Freezer 3.

    • Take care of your body with a good diet and exercise and you will look young for many years... 50 really isn't that old People are looking a lot younger today than they did 50 years ago because of science and better living... so really Not that surprising but more inspiring on what you can accomplish health wise with a proper lifestyle

    • @@redpill.world2475 Having that much muscle mass at 50 while being drug tested takes a bit more than just eating right and going to the gym it takes exceptional genetics

    • @@firestara4830 I agree genetics is definitely a plus when it comes to muscle mass... but looking good at 50 is not that hard if you take care of yourself

  • Very short notice for Kharitonov. He fought boxing match in two month ago. Then this match was confirmed in last month. He needs more training time and preparation for fight in MMA.

  • Always happy to see Kongo get the win, he's got a bit of a penchant for comebacks, hasn't he? Can't deny his toughness, solid win, and at the age of 46! He just keeps on trucking, still performs well. Would be awesome to see him win the belt, think he'd be the oldest champion ever in any major promotion.

    • This a joke? Kongo looked like shit and was getting beat up until his opponent got tired and gave up. He beat an old ass man, and he is one himself. Unlikely he ever wins the belt.

    • @@FreefallSC No actual evidence of that except circumstantial. HWs have a massive drop off, like anyone else. But it's arguably worse since they still hit hard but their chins weaken. The vast majority of HWs are not really competitive later in their years, far from an "endless list". I could easily point to other fighters in lower weight classes who are still competitive in the 30s and 40s, it makes no difference. Now, there are exceptions, like Randy Couture, DC, etc. But those guys are some of the best of the best. That still doesn't change the rule. They enter their prime in the mid 30s? Nope. It's usually late 20s to early 30s. "Power matters so much at HW that your speed and reaction time isn’t as big of a deal." Agreed. But if your speed/reaction time are deteriorating then you'll be taking more shots and getting KO'd more. So this makes no sense. "That their large bodies allow them to take more damage as they age." No, they don't. Body size is irrelevant. They can only take less damage as they age, because their chins aren't as good and they're likely getting hit more because of their slower speed/reaction time. Just look at Overeem, Werdum, JDS, etc. They have to learn to fight smarter to survive.
