Hello and welcome!! In this video, I show you how to create another art canvas to replicate an old European wall. The technique incorporates raised stencilling using joint compound (wall putty), then painting and ageing with chalk paint, white glaze and copper metallic paint as an embellishment.

The music was beautiful too!
Thank you
great one, it would be worth it if you shared the materials used
Thank you, for your comment, I'm glad you liked my video. I used Gyprock brand joint compound for the base and raised stencil, Junk Monkey chalk-paint, plus my own blend of minerals called Matte Minerals that I added to the red paint to make my own chalk-paint, Junk Monkey white glaze plus water and regular metallic craft paints. I hope that helps.
Thank you so much.
Love this.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
I love it! Beautiful!🌹
Thank you. It is one of my favourite canvases.
Very interesting technique. I will definitely try it! Thanks for sharing ❤

Super!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you.
Amazing 😻
Thank you. This was one of my favourite projects.
If I was to try this technique I believe I would use paint and chalk powder.
Yes, that would work.
I love this ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you. I'm glad you liked it.
Beautiful😊
Thank you.

@@WillowandFink ...we really are!🥰🥰
Hello 👋. I love the final results. Just have to remember to use (matte paints) when I try this technique; then metalics. Thank you for sharing. 😊🤗💖
Hello, and yes matte paints and ones without a built-in sealer ;-)
@@WillowandFink Thank you. 😊
Instead of the music it would’ve been nice for you to explain what you’re doing, your process, and materials and ratios of products used.
I'm trying different things, in some videos I talk and in some there is just music
But this one really needed a voice. The speed was so very fast that it started to look like you were flipping in & out between different stencils. I could not focus because of the exceptionally high speed along with the music. So, unfortunately I was unable to learn anything from you.😢 A voice over for this video (and all, hopefully) would be so appreciated 😊 Please understand, this comment is in no way a criticism. I very much so, want to learn from you ! You do incredible work. I hope you take these requests into consideration as I would indeed race back to this video again in a heart beat if you re-posted it with voice over. Sincerely, Julie Canada
Hello from The Netherlands, i really enjoyed watching you create this wonderful piece. If i may ask, did you used a kind of structurepaste for creating the raised stencil? I,m excited to try this sometime but i don,t know what product to use. Greetings❤
Hello, thank you for your question and I'm happy you liked my video. I used joint compound (I think it is called gezamenlijke verbinding in Dutch) to create the raised stencil, you can buy it from any home renovation store. Cheers, Naomi.
Very happy to find this video.. I’ve been searching for a practical way to update old stretch canvases. You layer colors and accents like a pro! So you have other similar videos? 🌻
Thank you, yes, I have a few other videos, and will be making more in the future.
love 💘 it
Thank you Sonya, that's made my day :-)
Oh ! One last request … Can you include a transcript as well ? Thanks once again !
Thanks Julie, As per my previous reply, I'll look into it.
It’s beautiful. Would u please list what you used. Would love to try it. Thank you. Una Hogan. 👏👏👏💕🇮🇪
Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I hope that helps.
Yes it would be great to know the products used?

Love your technique i am a beginner would like to know what are you spraying is it water? Also please what is the powder you mixed with the color
Hello, Yes it is water that I use to help move the paint and stop it from setting too soon. The powder would have been a product I created called Matte Minerals that I use to create my own chalk paint. I have since improved the recipe and rebranded to be called Matted and Tattered. Good luck with your creative journey :-)
@@WillowandFink thank you so much for your help 🙏
Wow music didn’t bother me at all!! Loved this! With the stencil do you pull up stencil while wet or wait til dry?
Hi Kori, Thank you, I ended up changing the music to what it is now as I had so many complaints :-) When pulling up the stencil you do it while it is still wet, so pretty much as soon as you have finished laying down the putty, you lift. Cheers, Naomi.
@@WillowandFink thank you so much!
I was grooving to the music
Thank you, you seem to be the only one who was :-) I've since changed the music, I hope it's not too boring now.
Que massa dura
Love watching the process, however, the music is distracting and turned it down!
Thank you the process is half the fun :-) I'll take note about the music next time.
I did want to learn the technique you used and I mean no offense the music was really gives a person anxiety almost
Wonderful project the music not so much
Thank you Glynes, that seems to be the consensus. I'll try and choose better next time :-)
What material do you add to the red paint?
I used my own blend of minerals to add to the paint to create my own matte chalk-based paint.
The result is quite interesting. But the music in background in terrible. Truly difficult to see the video till the end.
Thank you I'm glad you liked the end result, and I have also changed the music :-)
The music is obnoxious.
Thank you for watching my video. I'll try better with the music next time.
Did you learn anything from the video? How lucky someone took the trouble to show us ... for free!
Yes music is a headache...fyi.
Thank you for your comment, I have now changed the music.
Great work...Gastly music that is why I will not put a like. If you are worried about copyrights, then forget music and record something natural like the wind, the sea whatever makes sense. It is free, and no one will come after you.
Thank you for your comments. I'll take on board your comment regarding the music.
Did you know there is a possibility to turn the sound off?
Out of all the horrific music I have heard on some videos, think electronic crap, I thought this was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!💖
Why add up so many colour layers
It adds depth and patina
These comments are distracting me!
I hope in a good way :-)
I enjoyed watching you do this project but the music is horrible. Please rethink the kind of music you use next time. I could not subscribe or like.
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you liked my project, and I have since changed the music.
