  • Thank you for posting your experience. I had my in-brace put in a few hours ago and I’m ready thinking of removing them ! I’m so uncomfortable and can’t even comprehend I have a year to go ! Two things really bad right now, my tongue hurts, and I find myself swallowing a lot. After seeing your videos .. it now gives me the confidence to push through. I look forward to your next update !

  • Thanks for your update. Always good to compare with another person’s experience. I’m now on my 8 months with inbrace as of Oct 17th. Still have slight bite turbos as they shaved them down and had rubber bands put on around 4 months in from my upper canine to lower molar. My next appointment in 2 weeks they’re adding more buttons sadly. Wanted to mention that the 2A wire (3rd or 4th wire) on the bottom is painful since it’s straight. But good luck and hope you keep us posted 👍

    • No problem! They said they’re gonna put buttons in on my next follow up appointment; I’m not too worried since at this point I’m kinda used to all of the different pieces of hardware in my mouth lol. Thanks for the heads up on the 3rd wire 😅 By the way, do you feel any jaw discomfort when trying to open your mouth wide? I noticed this when I was eating a hot dog the other day

    • I normally feel some slight discomfort every so often but nothing too bad. I had really bad TMJ before I got my braces on so that might be why I have some aching pain. Also, since I still have bite turbos (been filed down over time) and can’t close my bite all the way it may cause some discomfort. But it looks like you have class 3 and I have a class 2 bite correction so there may be a difference in how the jaw feels or moves with the rubber bands

    • @@brockcullen2442did your TMJ get better with time? I have TMJ from a mild cross-bite. I have one tooth that needs to be pulled down. I will also need rubber bands to fix my bite.

  • Thanks for the update! I’ve had mine in for a little over 3 weeks. Finally all the tongue soreness has gone away and I’m talking much much better. I still have a slight lisp but nothing like it was. I have not had much tooth pain and have been eating almost normally since day one surprisingly lol I also have the turbos in and that took some getting used to. I love that you cannot see them. How are your teeth moving? That is the main question. I’m sure by now the movement has to be noticeable? I know I’m only at 3 weeks but I keep checking lol

    • That’s awesome that chewing wasn’t much of an issue for you! I didn’t realize this when I first recorded my video, but my bite turbos were actually a little uneven; I think that was one of the main reasons that I had difficulty chewing since I pretty much used only one side of my mouth to chew with. They’ve since removed the bite turbos which has been a huge relief 😃 My teeth are moving well and according to plan; they said I’ll probably be done in another 6 months

    • @@ptfocus384 that’s great! Good for you. Glad it’s going well. My bite turbos are uneven as well. Dentist said it would take way to long to get them exactly even. Eating is hard but i still manage to get down normal food. Its kind of like a half chew then just swallow it lol but otherwise it been getting a lot easier. So far I’m happy with my choice. Invisilign would have been a lot more work in and out all the time. Looking forward to seeing my teeth move. Keep us updated on your results. Thanks!

  • These are great results! How many fillings do you have? Do they interfere with the braces?

    @nilsraymond5547@nilsraymond5547 Жыл бұрын
    • Thanks! Yeah my teeth started straightening out pretty quickly. I have several tooth-colored composite fillings; they don’t interfere at all with the braces

    • Oh no, hang in there! The first 2-3 days were the worst for me. Wax really helped me around that time; just put a little piece on whatever brackets are bothering your tongue. Eating was rough for me too; I mainly just had protein shakes, yogurt, eggs, soup (whatever you can think of that require minimal chewing) for the first week or so

  • Hey thank you so much for sharing all thses. I just mine today. Actually I am so scared that if I will ever adjust to it. It is so uncomfortable. I have really bad lisp especially for the "s" sound. How did you handle that? Also eating was terribel for me, I think I lost the ability to enjoy any food. After I eat, I always have tons of food in every corner in my mouth and I had to wash it off all the time....How do you handle all that? Thank you!!!

    • I definitely can relate to what you’re going through 😅 The first week was terrible for me, especially once sores started forming on my tongue… but after about a week things started getting a lot better for me. The main foods I ate for the first few weeks was protein shakes, eggs, soup, yogurt, peanut butter jelly sandwiches… I lost a little weight since eating wasn’t fun at all. Singing in my car and practicing reading different passages aloud helped with my lisp; your tongue will adjust, I think most of my lisp went away after about 2-3 weeks. Just hang in there!

    • @@ptfocus384 Hey thank you so much for responding so fast! It is a really bad day for me and your words help a lot. I kept looking at all the youtubers making videos saying how happy they are with their inbrace and all I am thinking right now is going back to my orthodontist and taking those off😢 But yea thank you for letting me know that it will go better. I will look forward to it.

  • If you don’t mind me asking how much was is, is it pretty pricey?

    • Good question! I probably should have touched on that. I paid around $5000 using my health savings account (HSA) money. My employer matches my contributions to my HSA 100% up to around $60 per pay period so it worked out well for me
