In this video, we give you a tour of our newly converted off grid Ford Transit van. We bought this van in Scotland and after making a few changes, we are finally ready to give you a tour of our BIG RED.

You really have a lovely, elegant and well planned van. Besides the fire extinguisher right next to the gas being a danger, I would also add a holder for the shower head in the van. Great job! ❤

Carbon monoxide is a heavy gas, heavier then air so you might want to keep the detector at a lower height so you won’t suffocate in your sleep. And I love your van! Have a great time van-liveing!

I don’t think there’s ever the perfect conversion, there’s always going to be compromises but I think Big Red is close to perfect and you’ve done a fantastic job. I love the ceiling! Good choice with the fabric bulkhead curtain to block out the cabin. Enjoy you travels and look forward to some camper van recipes 😉

Not picking....but just a little observation, what will happens to those small containers ( or even some others as well) near Tea nook, when you have to suddenly apply the breaks or when you are driving uphill or downhill with some angle ? Won't they move and spill the things inside ??😊

I noticed that the US and the UK do vans differently. The UK always blocks off the connection between van and drivers area. So they put the kitchen in front. The US has it open so they put the kitchen on the side. Not sure which is better.
What’s next upgrades? AC for summer? Rooftop deck? All terrain wheels and a 5 inch lift for off-road?
Are you guys planing for inter country and inter Continental vanlife?... All the way from UK to south africa or any other place
We plan on travelling the UK and Europe at the moment but you never know. We might just decide to take the van back to South Africa. But we will have to see😊

for your safety please check out the proper location for your detector, i believe the carbon monoxide is heavier than air therefore it should be near the floor.

Fire extinguisher near the gas cylinder is not advisable. If there is fire due to gas you can not reach to the extinguisher.
Do you worry about getting to the cab from the back of the van without going outside?
Will you be investing in a 5g router for the van and what phone network are you with whilst in the the UK?

You could get a waterproof cover for the toilet then you could sit and shave and wash your feet easier, beautiful van!
