  • I started painting sence i was 4 y/o and now i have improved so much.But i want people to know that when i draw or create art I hate when people tell me :but why didnt you add this,why did you draw it like that,why with those colours.Its my art ,my imagination,my nature,its how ~I~ draw it.

    • I definitely understand why that could be frustrating, being an artist myself… but try to think of it less as criticism and more as curiosity. It’s an opportunity to tell them why you made those choices because YOU know what you’re doing. As an artist, it’s important to be able to talk about your work so use it as practice!

    • I hate that too, but what I hate most is when I am drawing something and someone just randomly like sits next to me and is constantly giving me advice I didn’t ask for or even worse DRAWS IN MY FUCKING ART LIKE WTF? That’s my art it’s not yours! I appreciate if you help when I ask but I did not.

  • I honestly feel that those paintings that have "oopsie" moments are actually the best, it shows the true artistic nature of the artist and also shows that they are not afraid of faults or mishaps, they embrace them.. not that other artists are not great, because they are, it took me 1 year to paint 1 picture because of how much of a perfectionist I am and that's not being an artist the way that some, it takes a true eye of an artist to see something a paint it, it's harder than it looks.. but all the beautiful. I have a hard time with the abstract paintings, I don't understand those ones, I mean honestly, to me, those can be painted by a 5 year old and make millions, just my opinion only because I don't understand it.. I only understand paintings of things, whether it be people, animals, or even scenery, it just seems more majestic and personal.. maybe abstract is the most personal but again, I don't understand it

    • Abstract art takes a lot of creativity and skill to make. So 5 year olds cant make millions by making abstract art.

  • once when i was younger, i made a simple drawing of a girl. her hair was down, stylized so it looked almost as if her hair was made of feathers. it wasnt much to look at, but i liked it enough. when i showed my school friend at lunch, she seemed confused. she asked why her hair looked like that.. i told her its just how i decided to draw it. she thought it was weird. that was middle school; im in college now. embrace your creativity, and revel in your difference. if it hurts nothing and makes you happy, then by god it must be good. dont forget that
