Its the 4th Hokage in that coffin that went back down. Don't forget in Ship, Orochimaru said he failed before to summon Minato cause he was unaware of the reaper death seal holding him thats why he did the ritual first to pull Minato and Hiruzen back and then he did Edo Tensei to summon the 4 hokages.

He had to pull all 4 back. Hiruzen locked the first two + Orochimaru's arms. Also interesting fact, he got his arms back but still needed to be revived, which the zetsu clone provided him.
The first and second ET was years apart, so some concepts differ. When kabuto demonstrated his edo tensei on danzos guards, he instatly reincarnated him for the summons. We don't know how orochis et worked. But this gives us some insight. Orochi could not summon minato then and he could notice this issue. Its years apart so some plot holes patching is in order, but it is not perfect. Probably four kazekage was there. There were no third coffin in the manga so animators couldnt bring minato or rasa since they were almost not known to them
@@patrykzajac4961 It's made explicitely obvious when Orochimaru gets the souls from the reaper death seal. What's with all this pontification? It's spelled out exactly. He had to free them to summon them.
@@TarkovSnipper but when it was obvious, for sure not when orochi was fighting against third hokage. Just a bunch of shuriken and not a word about the third coffin, anymore. Its just a speculation, maybe 4 hokage or recently killed 4 kazekage.

That actually has two meanings. Sarutobi has a nickname "professor"/sensei because he was a shinobi that learned every single jutsu they had i Konoha (its in the manga). That why he became the hokage
@@pikolowet Exactly, and the reason why Sarutobi considered Orochimaru as his original prodigy was because, apart from him, Orochimaru was the only other ninja who could master most of the jutsu. The only reason he did not make Orochimary Hokage was because he was aware that the fellow had evil intentions. That's why it passed on to Minato instead. A lot of people don't really understand how powerful and intelligent Orochimaru really was.

I feel like Sarutobi is a cross between Dumbledore and Avatar Roku. And Orochimaru reminds me of a cross between Voldemort,Mengele and some aspects of Hannibal Lecter and Joker.

If Minato was summoned successfully than it would've been over quick. With his speed along with Tobirama and Hashirama there was no way. Although it would be interesting to see Sarutobi go up against all three.

Well that's a supposition. I say hiruzen would still win. With or without Minato, hiruzen would've still prevailed. Some people overestimate Minato.
Sarutobi still proud of orochimaru afterall seeing that his student really grewstrong there's a regret but somehow a father always be proud besides that is the way of a ninja to die in a battle
The 3rd was strong. Very strategic.
But he was old so his chakra amount was pretty low at that moment, imagine Saru 10 years younger and Orochimaru soul will be seal into the reaper.
The sequence and choreography here is way better than most of the shipuuden and boruto episodes.

Hiruzen was afraid to see minato back from the dead but at least the reaper trying to reach out and pull him down so he would not be revived because hiruzen would afraid if minato that he failed to take care of naruto and broke his promises to naruto and minato's wishes. Actually he realized he would reluctantly have to end Orochimaru but it was too late to remove his soul so he settled for his arms, which is still a good punishment for Orochimaru as one of his main goals, along with immortality was to master every jutsu.

You forgot one factor; he took the other half of Kurama with him upon death. Now , you can say that Hiruzen did better at fighting the fox when Tobi invaded Konoha that night , that Minato did. That doesn't mean that he is not Kurama's half jiinjuriki after death. Personal matters get in the way and that would make him feel that things with the village his legacy can be justified , even this time as a village enemy.

Because you can control how much power you are to let the reanimated Shinobi to have, as well as whether or not you want them to have their personality, here Orochimaru only reanimated these 2 for 3 reasons, 1, to flex what forbidden jutsu he knows to former teacher, 2.. to mock and humiliate all 3 Hokage and the Will of Fire, and finally it was highly unlikely for Orochimaru to win a 1v1 against the 3rd, at this time, and even during the time of Shippuden, The 3rd Hokage was considered the strongest of the Hokage, even Stronger then Hashirama.

Major plot hole: when Orochimaru summons the Hokage's the second time (with Sasuke), he cannot possibly control them, but here he does.
Maybe, but it was partly explained that the first time he summoned the first two kage, they were a lot weaker due to the unrefined nature of the reanimation jutsu at the time. Maybe that's why Orochimaru could control them here
