I remember watching central news in the 90's when you had Ian Woan, Stone and Collymore. That was a top Forest team that went on an 18 game unbeaten run if I remember
As a Hammer I wish Aston Villa nothing but success. I really wanted them to keep the confrence league Claret & Blue. Who knows maybe they'll turn it around!
As a villa fan I was quite happy the west ham won it last year.
Cheers! It's a tall ask with the 2 goal deficit and Villa have not been as impressive as West Ham were last year, when you won it. But it would be great if we could follow in your footsteps, even though it seems unlikely. I couldn't believe the snobbish elitism by some fans last year, who tried to take away from your success by trying to rain the competition. Everyone knows it's not the Champions League, but It's still a European trophy and West Ham smashed it.

The reality of injuries and fatigue. Thursday Sunday Thursday Sunday all season with the same players not being rotated was always going to come to this. Just gotta crawl over the line now. Such a shame that it’s come to this.
Not just that first leg. Villa's strength in depth has been severely tested of late. Not helped by the injuries and knackered squad from the demands of the Premier League trying to stay in the top 4, while still playing in Europe. Hopefully, we'll scrape through, or use the experience to improve next season.
Not sure this is true. Nobody wants to see teams like Man City doing well but I have no issue with Villa. They came to Anfield towards the end of last season when the European football was secured. Their fans were a good bunch

It's because you hear Flabby and the rest of the Villa fans talk about Villa and totally going overboard thinking they going to be a top 6 team for years to come after one decent season forgetting bigger teams are in transition periods like Man Utd, Chelsea etc that when they balance out eventually will put Villa back to where they truly belong amongst the mid-table pack
So how are man united and chelsea in transition exactly? Chelsea are clearly in turmoil and united in decline. You could argue tottenham and newcastle are in transition, as are villa

I’m a Villa supporter but always root for English clubs in Europe. The only exception would be Birmingham City when they get to Europe, which is forecast to be about the same time that hell freezes over.

That's not true...there are some of us who support English teams even when it isn't our club playing.But recently, I watched Arsenal rivals praying we drop off UCL. Gabby saying Emery is better than Mikel Arteta is not true...the Aston Villa coach won trophies in the past. That, we are not disputing. The Arsenal coach is in his first job, and the work he is doing at the Emirate from back rooms to the field worth commending. The Gunner team Emery failed to win Europa cup with, Arteta used them to win the FA Cup. The Aston Villa team Emery inherited were young talented squad whereas, the squad Arteta met on taking the Arsenal job were not young and most not ready for change.

The only issue I have with Villa this season is they rolled over for a belly rub against Man City playing the C team and then went for it against Arsenal. They effectively chose who they wanted to help win the title.
