I think this is the only ever artistic interpretation of the stoneskin+stone shaping Magnus scene I've ever seen so congratulations on being literally the bravest person I've ever heard of
My favourite part of that picture is probably Lucretia's "oh, jesus christ" expression.

The image at 1:37 really made me laugh out loud. Magnus struggling to get undressed right there and then, Taako not even out of his sleeping bag, and Merle's stupid little butt-flap, with his arms wide. A beautifully rendered little image.

Lucretia is, in my opinion, one of the best characters ever made. It would have been so easy to have made her a straight-up villain, but instead we got this complex, nuanced, warm-hearted, kind, and strong character. The fact that said character is also a woc in a fantasy setting just makes it even more incredible

I honestly love how Griffin made her such a multifaceted character instead of painting her as either straight up black or white. His storytelling honestly is what I strive for, it’s so good.

Oooh this is so amazing. Lucretia is such a perfect example of a morally gray character who made terrible choices for what she believed was right, and I looooovveee it when she gets that focus from fans. This was so beautiful. My favourite parts: The first "I stole the moon" with Junior's tendrils around the journal. "I took just one mis-step" with her walking across the screen. "Too blind to see" and Taako's tearful raising of the umbrastaff And oh, I didn't catch it until the third watch... the parallel of Lucretia hugging Magnus when he loses his memory, and him hugging her when he gains it back.
Also: you pick such perfect songs for these. That's a talent all on its own. May I humbly make a request for consideration? Lup's story to Savage Garden's "To the moon & back".

Also: the NEXT STEP after “just one misstep” is her losing years of her life to the Lich Twins. I got magic missile’d right in the feels!

Nothing is more tragic then “I’m Davenport” slowly fading into static and no one can tell me otherwise
Lucretia was so well made, like she made a mistake but she thought it would keep her friends safe when she did it and now that she knows it only made things worse she’s never been more sorry, and everyone forgives her instead of all being against her because they trust her not to make the same mistake again. Also you rarely get to see a protagonist who isn’t just helpful because they’re young and therefore stronger, is of color, and as complex as Lucretia which makes her so much more unique and AH I LOVE HER SHES SO GREAT! Also the Stolen Century arc made me love her so much more.
See, there is magic in a bard's song. They call it inspiration, and it tells the listener what they need to hear, right when they need to hear it. Some A.R.T.I.S.T.s (Arcanists Resonating Tones in Songs Terrifically) amplify this magic through the use of visual aids, such as drawings and animations. When this is done, it can be enough to make a sleep-deprived college student explode in a jumbled mess of emotions because of how incredible the experience is. I am very tired send help

0:49 I love this sequence so much, The way she starts determined, the way she ages right at wonderland, and the pain at the end as she realizes that she can't do it alone.
And at 0:42 when Barry reaches out for Lucretia and she grits her teeth for what's to come.
I have never listened to The Adventure Zone, the only knowledge I have of it is from your other animatic. This still made me a bit emotional even though I have exactly zero context on what's happening. I'm pretty sure this means you are a sorcerer.
I can’t even begin to guess how many times I’ve watched this, but it remains one of my favorite animatics of all time!! It does such a good job of telling the story from Lucretia’s perspective. I love this sm
I know nothing about the setting, characters, or story outside of a couple animatics I have seen, but it still manages to tell a strong story and overall just be a joy to watch. I keep rewatching this and returning to it every so often because it's just so incredible.

HOLY SHIT YES!!!! I'm in love with your I Can't Decide animation and when I saw you'd made another one I got SO EXCITED!! I think my favourite part is the bit with Lucretia walking and time passing-that really got me. But like, literally everything about this is incredible. Everything is timed so well and it's so smooth and your character designs are SO LOVELY and I'm literally so in love with this!!!! I'm gonna send it to everyone I know and then rewatch it ten thousand more times and cry.

We hardly ever see animations made from Lucretia's perspective which is a fresh change of pace. You made the three boys so stoic at the end and god I love your style so much. 10/10 my dude, this is absolutely amazing and I hope you continue to make stuff like this for other Balance stuff or possibly Amnesty
oh god. I didn't notice the tear that falls down Lucretia's cheek when she's hugging Magnus while he's losing his memory until just now. I'm slain. It's too good
I think the world really would never be as great as it became without what Lucretia did. Her plan was pretty affective, but with one key detail wrong. The third option ended up requiring her plan and skills most of all. It's why the Judges and the Seer called what she did a "necessary betrayal". If she hadn't made the Bureau, Magnus wouldn't have net Julia, Taako wouldn't try to connect with "dust" people- becoming "Taako from TV and meeting Kravits, Merle would never have had the kids he's come to love so so so much, Lup might never have been found and freed (the only reason she was was cause the boys were searching for the gauntlet, which they'd never do if not for the BOB), Barry would be without her maybe forever. Most of all the Great Wars would eventually destroy the planet. In fact the almost did several time before the boys were able to reclaim them. Yes is was awful /especially for Davenport/, but it was never meant to last beyond a year. That's a big thing really. If she had managed to find the relics AND lup in the time it took the boys to there would possibly be a lot less bad blood. Possibly. I think personally returning Lup would probably have won over Taako and Barry at least. In the end, Lucretia did good. She just took the messy path to get there. I'm glad most of the others forgave her.i understand Taako may never forgive her fully but it made sense for his character. My headcannon is eventually she becomes fully redeemed in even the most grudging eyes. She's definitely determined enough to earn that.

I’m rewatching this and seeing Lucretia smile when reunited with the the boys literally brought me to tears. This was fucking beautiful!
I don't know if this is an intentional parallel, but every time I get to the scene at 1:05 of Barry, Taako, Magnus, and Merle huddled around the map, I also see it as the meta-scene of Griffin, Justin, Travis, and Clint at the gaming table creating the narrative.
Absolutely! And Taako's closed hand makes it look like he's about to roll dice. 🙂
Every part of this is excellent, but my favorite part is the passage of time montage, and the sudden jump from younger Lucretia to her aged-up self after the events of Wonderland.
My favourite thing about your animatics is the way each one tells the story in a different way. The first one was all about John, this one is all about the director. Its so cool to see it all from a new perspective, and you do it so well. Never stop, please

1:45 oh thank god. That spiral stone Magnus part was something I always imagined to be much more terrifying than what you drew for this. Like the lower half of his body being a Junji Ito looking spiral tube that oddly enough looked like a large intestine. This is a lot less disturbing, and I commend you on that.

GOD. okay now that ive semi-gathered my thoughts here they are this is fucking genius, all of it, you never miss, first off secondly, my personal favorite bits: - "i stole the moon" and it pans out to show the moonbase - "you paint the scene with the colors of an enemy" WITH LICH BARRY FLOATING OUT OF HIS BODY FUCK DUDE - THE FUCKING "guess i forgot" PART GODS ABOVE - ALSO ALSO the "for your friends to see" w Davenport was like a shot in the chest dawg pleeeeease

They played bad guy as well and all I could think about during the song was your video and I just felt so happy bc this is such a good animatic and I just had to come here and tell you how much I appreciate it afterwards.

I just love how takoo is crying over lup, merle is shocked cuz john betrayed him, Wilst magnus is thinking about some random bear bossfight who died to the hunger
I watched this just after I finished Balance and know I definitely cried then, but the fact that I'm rewatching this almost a year later when I can't remember all the events anymore and am still on the verge of tears I think is a testament to how well done this is. You really did an amazing, amazing job.
