Sakhile has a new channel!! If you like his stuff, please consider subscribing to his channel here: / @safariandsurf-wildern...
I know it would mean the world to him...
Many of the languages spoken by the Nguni people of southern Africa as well as the San people have a range of click sounds.
In this video, Sakhile Dube from St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, demonstrates how these click sounds are pronounced in the Zulu language.
He has an epic voice :)
Check out our other videos with Sakhile here:

The Temptations had a fantastic bass singer in Melvin Franklin, The group that sang, "Alvira" country gospel, Lawrence Welk had one named, Larry Hooper. My grandparents loved him. We have lots of them in the jingle business, all looking for a paycheck. As I say, unless you're referring to his accent. We've got lots of them. Btw, Elvis' Jordonaires had a Great one...They were also a country gospel group.

  • As a Linguistics major, this is a SUPER cool video. Clicks are (arguably) the most difficult phonetic sound in the world. They're also some of the most rare, with only around 24-38 languages left with these sounds.

    • The history of language is fascinating to me. Just to think about the geniuses who came up with it all. Otherwise we'd all still be grunting at each other.

    • I don't have any formal education on language, but I've always been interested in words and origins, of accents and how language travels and evolves. Idk how to say it, but it seems we use the same sound, yet it is much more subdued.

    • First accent. A brand has a lizard 🦎. Do you know why? I also don't know. One of our very respected elder told us the language was given to us by the people who came to earth from the sky(heavens) , they had reptile (lizards)faces very ugly yet very kind hearted.. Zulu means heaven or sky. Hence the Zulu people they long believed unkulunkulu(the greatest of them greats) came from the sky. I read in the Zulu book where they mentioned 30+ words that sounded very similar to Greek and Latin, guess what? Zulus never mixed or even met people speaking Latin and Greek . Never even in the past. How did it happen that Zulus have similar words to Latin and Greek?
