Hello friends. In this woodworking work, I have demonstrated some of the simple wood joining techniques. I uploaded the video under the names of simple wood corner joints woodworking joints wood joining techniques. This wood project has been very enjoyable. This is how I used the short boards in my wood workshop. Friends, I really like woodworking. I wish everyone who is interested in wood projects to have a very nice workshop. In this video, I showed butt joint, splined miter joint, dowel miter joint, mock finger joint, finger joint, box joint, mock dovetail, dovetail joint, mitred through dovetail wood joints. In this woodwork, I also showed box joint jig, splined miter joint jig, table saw splined miters, miter splined jig, router table splined sled routers. Wood designs without nails can be made with these wood joining techniques. I hope you will like it. Thank you very much for watching. Stay healthy.

  • This is probably the best miter corner methods I’ve seen in a while. My favorite are the splines with “x” pattern. Also, the jig you used with the router to make dove tails is legit. You did those so fast with the jig. All of those alternatives were awesome! Thanks for sharing!!

    • @@CelalUnal1 I would love adding the x splines as a finishing touch to my speaker boxes natural wood finish. Celal, what would be your recommendation to put these on a large already made box instead of putting them on a small piece with a table saw? I saw an example where a guy had a router sled for his palm router and he was doing dovetails across the corners and tapping them through that look great. Any jigs or techniques that you recommend??

    • Hey Rich, I build large speaker boxes, and I love leaving the natural wood finish on them. I'm really wanting to add the x- style spline joints ( dovetails and dowels too) to my large finished boxes instead of just using screws and glue. Any recommendations on how to add these to an already finished large box as a finishing touch? I saw a track style jig for my DeWalt Palm router that would allow you to clamp up to the corner of a big box and then run the router over the corner perfectly through. Would this be your recommended way? I'm getting excited thinking about the beautiful visual impact of those x-splines, dovetails, and dowels alternating on my faceplates. Some of them are very high power systems and I need that extra strength from more glue surface and want that aesthetic appeal too. Any advice greatly appreciated 👍

  • I've been looking at many youtube videos for wood crafting ideas and examples. This video was great. A very simple and elegant set of corner joint designs that look beautiful when finished. Also I like how the builder showed us in detail how he made the tools he used to create some of these. Very well made.

Creative indeed, and just let the vid tell the whole story. My critique, however, is that not all examples are simple because they involve more tools, making jigs, and lots of cutting.

  • 60 years ago I started my apprenticeship as a cabinet maker, my bench master was a Welshman who taught me all of these joints and a few more, but back then we didn't have the hand power tools of today so most of it was by hand. I wish I had a Japanese pull saw for trimming the splines and the small sliding saw would have been handy. You Sir are a true Craftsman and I take my hat off to you. I also liked your technique for filling the overcut dovetail too.

    • @@CelalUnal1 After your inspiring video, I am looking to buy a Japanese pull saw. What is the exact kind you have here (7:37)? I'm not sure I like the one's with a back "spine" because I would think they might cause a slight bend in the cut when doing something where the spine will hit the workpiece...so I like yours...but can't find it. Thanks so much! Love your video!

    • @@aaronluckette In fact, each type should be for a separate job. Those with upper keels are very nice for swallow joining. There are also bilateral corners. This can be preferred. Mine is with a thin blade and one-sided. A handy Japanese saw.

    • @@CelalUnal1 I bought the "SUIZAN Japanese Hand Saw Pull Saw 7 Inch Flush Cut Saw Trim Saw for Woodworking"...it bends too much. On my test-piece, it started cutting into the piece near the edge (I am doing exactly what you've shown at 7:34). I need one that will not bend but does not have that spine. Do you know EXACTLY what one you bought? I literally want to buy that same exact model but cannot find it. Thanks again! Cheers!

      @aaronluckette@aaronluckette3 жыл бұрын
    • @@aaronluckette The saw you bought is very nice. If there is no hard straightening profile on the saw, it will bend when it is pressed too hard. Since I cut it slowly, there is not much bending. But when there is a fast speed cut, sometimes there is a twist. It's a little sensitive. I hope I've spelled correctly.

  • This video might just have saved me. I’ve decided to do a complex woodworking project for my dads birthday. I’ve been doing joinery on houses for years but that work is all about speed and it’s not visible so I don’t normally care if you can see the fixings etc. My dad was a woodworking teacher for 30 years so I need some good looking woodwork and I think this video might just help me do that. Thanks!
