This type of inning is what you wanna see as a fan. Danger on the base paths make strikeouts so much more important and increases the stakes
Naylor being not even close to safe on the sac fly had me dead lol
He's just so freaking slow. 😂
@@chrisseger2346go look at has SB numbers. He’s actually deceptively quick and steals his share of bags. That play he never should’ve tagged though, ball was too shallow. Corbin Carroll couldn’t have scored on that ball
Yeah that broke me LOL
JRam and losing his helmet on a slide. Name a better duo.
JRam and that right hook *DOWN GOES ANDERSON* *DOWN GOES ANDERSON*
@@farminstoltzfus just so happened to happen at the same spot maybe it's sacred ground
Anytime Albies leaves the box his helmet is gone lol
Vogt is impressive so far as a 1st year manager. It always seems to be the catchers that turn out to be great managers.
Makes sense, they're the ones who have to call over 100 pitches per game and pick off stealing baserunners lol
@@sportsmaster1364 And they have to know the strengths & weaknesses of their entire bullpen, plus the strengths & weaknesses of the opposing lineup, plus tendencies. And they have to be able to calm & encourage their pitchers' emotions. At any time, they're more of a coach than the manager...so managing is a breeze comparatively.
@@TinKnight Also, they're really the only players who can see the entire field all the time. Even that probably makes a difference to understanding all that goes into a game.
This video was 1000 baserunning IQ by ramirez. That's it. No one runs the bases like him.
After he got picked off in Game 7 of the 2016 WS he said “never again”
plus he is good at making tim anderson pay for trying to act tough.,
Jram is my homeboy
@@VioletDeliriums Tim “The Human Punching Bag” Anderson!
He was stealing second and then ran to third cause of an error then got home because of a passed ball, he’s really good on the bases but this was standard baseball not really 1000 iq lol
A Jimmy's three things segment could be devoted to Jose's baserunning and hustle doubles. Absolutely love that man
Love breakdowns like this
me too
Yeah, this is really cool. The lip readings are great, of course, but this is just a fun sequence to to analyze. Good work, Jimmy.
This Guardians team is so much fun to watch and as always, find WTAM 1100 and listen to Tom Hamilton's radio broadcast. Best in the biz
Yessir best sports announcer on the radio
I'm very thankful i'm not the only one
By far!
Absolutely
The absolute best
More teams need to just start running reckless 😂 idk if it’s good for baseball but damn if it isn’t a fun time to see guys just wheeling the bases while the ball pinballs around the infield
It was against Reese McGuire, who ranked 42nd last year for pop time, is pretty much the same this year, & is rated pretty poorly by Statcast for CS & pitch blocking. It's more aggressively taking advantage of your opponent than being reckless.
We love Jose in Cleveland
We'd love him more in TO Ramirez/Naylor/Naylor/Bieber for Vlad/Springer/Kirk/Orelvis/Manoah/Barriera Who says No?
I’m a Twins fan, and I love J-Ram 😎
Why do the Red Sox these past couple of years strike me as the "team with no awareness". Duran last year completely losing sight of the ball and watching it sit on the warning track while Verdugo ran for it, now this pitcher who is supposed to be covering home plate, Reese expects him to be, he absolutely isn't and he watches the ball be tossed at him like a towel as Ramirez scores. Good grief.
I'm getting those 2016 vibes again. But this time we bring home the Series.
Ha. Imagine Cleveland winning anything
@@AirOut-jt6jwCavaliers 2016 ring any bells?
🙏🙏🙏
We? What is your number?

Jomboy, please continue to cover the guardians because nobody else does. They’re so damn good and it’s like espn doesn’t even know they exist. Us middle market team fans need you Jomboy.
"The catcher feels bad about that." (the throw going into LF) Catcher literally hit the bag at second. That's the most perfect throw he could have possibly done. Edit: Apparently my ignorance was showing. I know I've heard it said that outfield throws should land perfectly on the bag, and just assumed that would be the case here, too. Thanks for helping me learn, commenters!
Exactly
it hit the dirt before hitting the bag, wasnt rly a great throw
@@charlesoshiro5871 I have to agree, the throw was tailing slightly off line to the left for where the SS was set up. Though if the SS had set up a bit closer to the base the short hop might not have jammed him so bad.
I'm a KZhead commenter so I disagree as well and if you agree I disagree with the disagreement of your agreeing of the disagree.
😂😂😂@@ConroyMatheson
It amazes me how much sports content Jim takes in to give us the best of the highlights. Appreciate you Mr.Jomboy
I like the action, I'm a Phils fan and love how much guys are running.
yay...it is good to see this kind of running baseball and small-ball stuff like it was in the 70s-80s!!!! i think the stolen base is one of the most exciting parts of the game!!! and a team that can do it well can create a lot of damage, for example this inning.
Let's Go Guardians 🗿🔥⚾️💯
That’s a dumb name
Who are the guardians? Why is this weird minor league team in the MLB?
@@NZIGNANTI They'll always be the red face scalpers to me ❤ Seriously though, the Guardians is a terrible name. If it weren't for the Rockies, I'd say they should be the Cleveland Rocks (because everyone loves Drew Carey and PUSA). Otherwise, one look on wikipedia gives a bunch of great names just from the city's rich jazz history. How 'bout the Dukes for Duke Ellington? Or the Pops for the Cleveland Pops Orchestra? The Cabs or Cabbies for Cab Calloway? The Nobles for Noble Sissle. The Bones? The Thugs? Or the Harmonies? All for obvious reasons. The Guardians is just bad..
P.S. I'm a Philly guy and don't know shit about Cleveland. I feel like someone actually from the city could have done way better than the guardians. I'd be genuinely afraid of what would happen if they tried to rename the Phils. They were ready to burn down the stadium with the most recent jersey reveal..
@@joetroyner As someone from philly you're no doubt experienced with teams who have utterly terrible names.. I mean the "Philadelphia Phillies" would be the worst name in the league if the rockies and guardians didn't exist. But my god people from cleveland have it as bad as those from philly... I mean sheesh the browns AND guardians? yikes.
That’s my Redsox
Love this breakdown
Great base running especially from j ram
Thanks for sharing this type of breakdown. Look forward to seeing more like it.
Love this. Like old school Jomboy where we'd get interesting at bat sequences or pitching mechanic breakdowns when a guy is just dealing. More of this, fellas.
Love good ol' baseball breakdowns.
Great breakdown. Enjoyed it!
Thank you! That was fun
Great inning for the love of baseball. Thanks, JB
thanks for sharing it with us
I love these kinds of breakdowns with just interesting, different baseball.
great video! 10/10
Good video jomboy 👍🏻
"Bad pop time 'cause the ball fell out" lol
Some real good action here
I love these “just straight baseball” videos
appreciate your thoughts
These breakdowns are great but I miss the crowd reaction shots you used to do.
You make it sound like he hasn't done one of those in years
"Used to do" - Does the one he did like last week count?
Jose Ramirez had another beautiful play in their game against the Braves, he was on first with Kwan on third and two outs, he successfully stole second and Kwan was able to steal home when the catcher threw to 2nd to try and get Jose. Just amazing baseball IQ from both of them.
Great breakdown
I hope I'm not alone but I think a Top (5/10) Plays of the Week would absolutely be welcome breakdowns.
Go Tribe!! Well done as usual Jomboy!
Listening to this inning on the radio was too much while trying to work. Was the only inning I heard too.
Jomboy is a master when evaluating baseball. This is your place man
all connected to pitch clock. baseball is fun to watch again
Welcome to Guardians baseball. This is how they play every game. Run run run, pressure the defense, put the ball in play, play good defense, win. This is such a fun team to watch man
We’ll see more of this soon
Would love a lip reading of the leafs bench going after eachother during game 4 of the series vs boston
This is fun exciting baseball right here
Good recap
This looks more like college or teen travel baseball the way it played out.
Love it
Damn, this was super cool to watch.
I want this type of baseball 24/7
This is why I want every position player to be fast. Speed on the basepaths makes baseball way more exciting
Jomboy at his best
And to think the Red Sox sat Wong this game for rest after he went 4/4
Really interesting thing that didn’t get pointed out - rather than camping under it the right fielder camps out behind it, then comes in before catching it *presumably* because they wanted to make the runner think it was deeper than it actually was. Or he just lost track of the ball a little, who’s to say
That's actually just how you're supposed to catch a flyball in order to have more momentum for throwing home
The runner being fat also helped
@@jacobyoder4774 That's how they taught me as well - if you're moving you can step and throw smoothly, saves you half a second.
It was a very windy day, I would assume he just lost it for a second.
Waiting for that Jomboy reaction to crazy Arkansas DEKE!!
Not a crazy lip reading or crazy ejection, just some good, ol fashion baseball. Love it
Yes, this kind of base running improves the game.
An interesting inning of baseball
Love some good ole fashioned baseball
The spirit of Herzog was in the park
Gunna need a lipread of the leafs game last night if you could lol
Let’s go Cleveland!
As a Sox fan it’s been quite an adventure watching Hamilton as short. We’re told the analytics say he’s a good fielder 😂
J-Ram is a true Jomboy All Star
I’d love to see the old heads score cards with that last one
Can we get an Elly De La Cruz video, he had a game with a home run on one side of the plate and in inside the park home run on the other side of the plate!
I'd watch that, and I have no attachment to the reds ir Dela cruz
dope
That's some good (bad) baseball right there
I know you don’t usually do nfl be we need your talents on the falcons gm talking to the owner after drafting Penix
Breakdown the Leafs arguing (Matthews, Marner, and Nylander) on the bench in game 4 NHL playoffs?
While obviously the three true outcome approach is the most successful for scoring runs, I do really wish this kind of play was more common, its so much more fun.
I don’t like televised sports but I sure do like JomBoy
Whole lotta baseball that inning
Jose is the best base runner in baseball
React to the Maple Leafs players fighting on the bench
Great baseball, behind all that.
“Bad pop time”. 😂😂
Yes this is more interesting baseball than walks and strikeouts with the occasional solo homerun.
Hey Jomboy Media, are y’all bluegrass fans at all? Bill Monroe sponsored two semipro baseball teams and the bluegrass all-stars used to tour with the band. It’s an interesting small part of American history. Bluegrass and baseball
Walking into Fenway park in 20 minutes, let’s see this
Yeah, there was a lot of baseball in that inning
Yeah ! Not a boring game , a lot of action and I guess strategy ! Although it didn’t work out for the Reds.
Ramirez and Naylor for Vlad Springer and Orelvis. Assuming Springer and Ramirez waive no trades. Who says no
0:28 catch looks like shane gillis a little lol
Or as Will Ferrell would say, "a lot of motion, a lot of high fives, and a lot of smiles"
Bro you NEED to do a breakdown of the out call angels orioles bc wtf
could runners on a pop fly ball go behind the bag so they could get bit of a momentum in the direction of where they want to go? Like in this example, the 3rd base runner takes 5 steps back, and tries to time up the catch so he gets more momentum towards home plate,
I've seen runners in softball straddle the bag because they aren't allowed to take a lead. Not manly enough for baseball players,
2:18 naylor had some sick cleats! reminds me of the hurrache’s
It's insane that McGuire got the error on that throw, it was a great throw. The joke of a shortstop Hamilton just couldn't handle it.
Thanks seatgeak for sponsoring jomboy! Love you both❤️
it’s the Cleveland INDIANS!
Everyone should be running on the Red Sox all the time. Every play there's a 30% chance of the ball going into the outfield/dugout or someone not covering a base.
''That's a weird one.''
Well....the guy that got walked was in the inning ending double play. Corra failed successfully?
This is me playing MLB The Show lol chaos all day
W0W!
Good ole Reese McGuire 😂😂
That wasn't even the catchers fault on the 2nd one - they missed the tag. He blew the play at home though
