Check out our weekly interview episodes with Boone on Talkin' Yanks: kzhead.info/sun/bNuIqL1oqX93hIE/bejne.html
Have you guys ever had to eject Boone? It’s ok if you have.
Here's your weekly Aaron Boone ejection
Facts
“I’ve done it again.”
I suppose when your sport is boring af you need something to keep people entertained
Thing is he saw the batter about to loose his shit at the ump, steps in gives the ump a piece so his player doesnt get ejected, Id say he is looking out for his players
Weekly? Not often enough...
John Bacon, the umpire in this game had a 78% correct strike accuracy in this game 😭 I’ve been to a Nationals game where he was the home plate ump and he’s dogshit
78% is pretty low. An ump’s worst typically would be between 85-90%
@@mbdg6810 Fr, dude should change his name to John Pork
No way his name is John Pork 😭
I'm sure he's still better than 49% Angel
The scariest part about that accuracy is that it was still favoring the Yankees despite how horrible all the calls were. The Marlins just kept quiet cause they were winning.
This week’s edition of “Aaron Boone Gets Ejected” was a good one. I can’t wait for the next edition of “Angel Hernandez Sucks at his Job”
Isn’t Angel’s more of a daily update?
It's the Jomboy equivalent of "Ohtani did a thing" on the MLB channel
I'm just here for the lip reading.
Can't wait for "Angel Hernandez Ejects Aaron Boone on Some Bullshit"
@@detectivepotato3579 Updating Angel's f-ups is actually a streaming website.
I love how Boone is always weirdly encouraging when yelling at the umps 😂 Always saying stuff like “You can do better!” And “Just tighten it up!”
He’s a teacher at heart 🤣
It's a really good way of telling the umpire he's been bad without saying it directly. A lot less likely to get tossed. And when you're one of the most frequently tossed managers, you need to get creative. I thought JB actually did a breakdown of it, but I couldn't find the video, so I may have been wrong.
he's like legit wholesome lol
NEW BOONEY EJECTION JUST DROPPED!!!
Wack
Imagine going home as this ump and seeing that you're 100% wrong on both pitches, looking like a fool on a Jomboy video.
Yeah, I’m sure he’s crying into his six figure salary and unfireable position.
The only consequence that umpires ever face
Nah, they probably think the electronic box and everybody else on the planet is wrong.
You guys should watch some games from decades ago, the zones are way more consistent now then they used to be. Mistakes are going to happen with a human calling balls and strikes. The K zone overlay makes it look simple but it’s not. If you want perfect consistency you need automatic balls/strikes or a challenge system that defers to it. I think that’s where we’re headed within a couple years. Complain while you can!
@@CytoplasmicGoo the tv zones actually are shit, theyre just static overlays that approximate the zone for viewers. they arent real mlb tech. in this case it looks like they were actually bad calls but i trust the tv box as much as i trust angel hernandez.
That low pitch outside was one of the worst called strikes I've ever seen lmao he went full little league strike zone
Well not as bad as the Angel Hernandez calls
“let’s try it again!” “BOOM” 😂😂😂
I'm pretty sure he was saying "Boone", not BOOM. fwiw.
@@charlesclark3840 i see an “m” at the end. regardless “boom” is way funnier
@@charlesclark3840 who cares boom is better and they both almost sound the same.
The closed lips at the end indicate an emm sound. Can't believe he hit Boone with the Boom!
"Let's try it again" absolutely killed me lol
I’m not a Yankees fan by any stretch of the means, but I love Boone. Great manager
bro makes me want to hustle to first
💯
I'm not a baseball fan and definitely not a Yankees fan but I can't help but like Boone. That's the type of boss you want to have, one that will stick up for you especially when you're getting hosed. Good on him for that.
"...by any stretch of the means..."??
@@kendallevans4079 🙄🙄 shall I rephrase for you?? “…by any stretch of the imagination..” is that better for you?
Korean baseball, KBO, implemented automated strike system and it's been nothing but perfect so far. And yet here we are in MLB, where best players come to play baseball, still relying on umps who have yet to learn what a strike zone is and can't even keep their eyes open when the ball meets the glove.
"Automated strike system" that's "Perfect" sounds very boring. Sure, fans complain about the umps every game...but people love to complain.
Why not have robot players too?
@@blahblah49000you're the Angel Hernandez of opinions
@@blahblah49000 sure, i'd pay to see that, unlike mlb.
Should have an an automated system that’s accessible via immediate challenge by the batter only, teams get 2 unsuccessful challenges per game.
I've never seen a hitter frame a check swing before, but he held it there for the ump to see where his bat was.
So tired of check swings
@@jpodowd5482 This is such an easy issue to fix as well. If the barrel of the bat goes past line made between nose and top of zipper of player when standing strait up over the plate it's a strike. If not no swing. Or maybe even eaiser just put a dot in the middle of the plate that has a sensor underneath it. If it registers barrel of the bat has gone x amout past it's a swing. If it doesn't than no swing.
You've never seen it? Just watch one baseball game. You'll see it several times.
@@thomasgardner2493he’s a casual
Nothing funnier to me than the way Boone arguing with umps always sounds like he a little league coach who's not angry, he's just disappointed (though with added cursing, of course)
You know baseball season is in full swing when Jomboy is breaking down Boone ejections
Exactly! As long as my Yanks are backing it up with good baseball I'm here for it.
"You're better than that" is definitely my favorite baseball-ism behind "horseshit". It's so devilishly backhanded.
Does it mean "You're not Angel Hernandez."?
Just love the way Boone points, so aggressive and direct. Someday I want to be able to point like that.
Umps are really trying to make the argument that their jobs need to be automated lmao
The robo-ump tech is on it’s way.
That eliminates great moments. Imagine a skipper yelling at a screen.
That will never happen. Get a new shtick.
But Jomboy would have less to do funny videos on.
If you got shat on at work every day, and your company was implementing automation at lower levels to see if they could automate your job, you'd probably phone it in...
I think he’s saying “we got one fucking late” about their 1 run
yeah i was thinking the same thing, looks like hes saying "late"
I don't see "one" at all. Looks to me like he's saying "four," possibly referring either to needing four runs for a comeback win or having been losing by four. Either one makes sense with the follow-up that the ump can't be fucking up calls right now.
“Shit!! Down four fucking late!!” Maybe..
@@SchizoAction Looks right, makes sense in context. You know what, I think you got it 👍🏽
For fuck sake we're coming back in this game.??
Jomboy proudly presents, Boone's ejection of the week" you could create a regular series for this guy
Actually his first of the year, but yeah, probably be one every 10 days to two weeks.
@@BrianSchaffer I'll set the over/under on 1/10 games
WWE Slam of the Week
Heartbreaking: the team you hate just made a good point.
Hold on a sec..."BOOM"? Can we challenge a lip reading? Thank you.
Boom boonie bye bye?
Unfortunately, lip readings are not reviewable 😂
Definitely "Boone" .
Nah it's boom for sure, the closed lips at the end give it away. Make the emm sound, then the enn sound in the mirror and watch what your mouth does.
Boone has the BEST arguments with umpires!!
Thanks, Jomboy! Boonie was spot on and absolutely articulate in his address to the umpire, he was absolutely perfect and only gains respect, especially in that moment as they were coming back…lastly, Brad Ausmus isn’t a bad guy to hand the card off too 🙏🏼⚾️❤️
I love that the strike zone for an MLB game is predicated on what kind of mood the home plate ump is in that day. My car can park itself but we can't get MLB to replace humans calling balls and strikes.
Dropping a "Hoosiers" reference out of nowhere, I love it
Hickory!
I'm gonna say it every time I see it, Dougie in pinstripes will always be a weird sight. Sincerely, A Red Sox Fan
There is the first of very many Boone ejections this year
Baseball season doesn’t start until Boone is getting thrown out for schooling umps
Considering umpiring only gets worse and worse, Boone might get the single season record for ejections this year.
You should break down what happened in the Red Sox Orioles game last night. The batter got ejected and then something happened where they weren’t able to fill his role? I’m not sure it was very confusing. The announcer said something about them not having a bench
It's a Catch-22 with bad pitch calls, really. No ump can call every pitch perfectly. Everyone accepts that. But also, if we say umps should be reversing calls they know are bad, that just further incentivizes players and coaches to get more aggressive than they already are. You'd have people pleading their case for every fringe case. As soon as you open that gate for umps to reverse pitch calls, they're going to get flooded with pressure. More than there already is.
That’s not what a Catch-22 is. A Catch-22 requires a logical paradox, it’s not “damned if I do, damned if I don’t.” In the book the eponymous paradigm is that bomber pilots can only get off missions if they claim insanity; however anyone who claims insanity must actually be sane in order to realize they’re insane, therefore there are no pilots who actually can get off missions by claiming insanity. Ie, the end result is the same and Catch-22 may as well not exist. A real Catch-22 here would be that umps who reverse their bad calls are good umps, which could mean either that umps who don’t make bad calls that they need to reverse are actually bad umps, or that bad umps who have to constantly reverse their calls are now considered good umps.
@@warlordofbritannia You're kind of missing my point. "Your great learning has driven you mad". Even so, I'd argue it is a catch 22, or at the very least, situational irony. The very thing intended to deescalate conflict between players/umps is the thing which will exacerbate it. But again, the label doesn't matter. The substance of what I'm saying is the important thing. Tokens/Types distinction. You're in the middle-range kind of smart guy. The guy who knows enough to be an arrogant ass, but purposefully strains at a gnat while swallowing a camel. You're the guy who things ending a sentence in a preposition is wrong.
There already is arguing for every fringe case. Every close pitch that doesn’t go their way is argued now. Take a look back to the Kerry wood 20k game. The umpire was calling strikes half a foot outside the zone and people didn’t complain at all.
@@ThatGuy-nv7cx I'm confused, you're saying they're arguing with everything, but your last sentence is an example of them not arguing. I don't understand your point.
Umpires just can’t fight the urge to say “boom” when tossing someone
We’re on like Year 6 of Boone ejection breakdowns and I love every single one of them
The way this channel has evolved…now just ask Boone next week lol so proud of you boys
I love that Yankees hoodie really nice
That is a pretty horrendous call. How are you supposed to protect the inner half when you're getting that called on you
He hands over those notes frequently. 😂
The three constants in this world...death, taxes and Boone getting tossed.
Love your videos. The people in my office are talking about me in the break room. Can I bring you in one day? Your lip reading wound really be helpful! 😂
That is top 3 most haunting face mashups for the ad read in this channel's existence.
Thanks Jomboy for such great content! Keep it up!!
Honestly I like that Boone sticks up for his guys. Keeps them from getting tossed. It isn’t like he does it for no reason or anything, he is just more apt to say something that’s most coaches.
When the ump is set up on the inside for every pitch, it’s no wonder he can’t call shit on the outside. They really need to get them at least TRYING to move with the ball
No no no no no. The last thing you want them doing is moving with the pitch. Yes, setting up in the slot makes the inside pitch easier than the outisde pitch, but if you start moving with thepitch, you're going to miss so many pitches. Thats just about the worst thing you can do. Some migjt suggest moving straight over the catcher, but that has two downsides. First, it's a safety concern. The farther you are over the plate, the more likely you are to take a foul ball to the mask. Second, the down pitch is harder. So, to gwt a slightly better look on the out pitch, you lose down. Slot isn't perfect, but it's the best we have with human umpires.
@@garrettwebster201Then why are we still sticking with human umpires
@@greenhat7618ump's union contract.
yeah, I was an umpire for 23 years. in my 18th season, one of the 'Higher Ups' in our umpire association told me, "Samuel, it would steady your calls if you would set your eyes at each batter's armpits!" so I stood up with my eyes at the batter's armpits. I got hit that year by more foul balls than the other 22 years combined!!!
@@greenhat7618it's the union! major league baseball is UNIONIZED!
"tighten it up" funniest shit in baseball because the ump knows it
Always entertaining. Thanks JOMBOY!
The one light could be referencing the light on the scoreboard for strikes or outs, not sure but it seems possible
Ump - Ejects Boonie Boonie - So you have chosen death.
I’ve been waiting for this, this came fast lol way to go Jomboy
Entertaining as always, thanks!!
The clips since the season started up have been like every single person on the field has been racing to give Jomboy every classic kind of breakdown there is, it's all "Aaron Boone Angel Hernandez Benches Clear Everyone Ejected Pitchers Mad"
The Umpire yelling "BOOM" to himself after ejecting someone because they argued when he called a ball that was both low and out a strike might be the saddest thing I've ever seen. Bro probably felt so good after that
He was indicating the person ejected was named Boone. BOOM is jomboy being funny.
@@charlesclark3840I don't know about that.. his lips came together which is how you make an M, whereas for an N they'd stay apart.

My hat in the ring is he says "John! You should have one f****n line!" or something to that degree
I don't watch sports really ever but love watching your videos!
I was waiting for this since the moment it happened live 😂
Always love me a Boone Jomboy Breakdown.
Hopefully automated calls are introduced soon. Players shouldn’t have to play around an umps call-pattern. We just want true calls that accurately represent professional competition.
Umpires have been a part of baseball since the beginning. Why would you want to take away part of what makes Baseball Baseball? Plus, think of all the jobs lost. We can't let robots take our jobs, bro. It ain't right.
The issue with this is that pitchers and hitters are also wrong just as much 😂.
@@MicheallikeMJ We can let them take Angel's job. *Edit* Even a bot in the middle of a software update would do better than Angel Hernandez. ;)
The answer is to get better umpires and to get rid of the bad ones, not to automate calls. Baseball is a human game and imperfect officiating is part of the human element. If you want everything perfect, gtfo and go play a video game. Fans like you are bad for baseball.
Imagine how wild it would be if there were no goal posts in the NFL and they called field goals based on what they thought.
I was waiting for this 😂
2:30 - "We got one f***ing inning"
Ump saying 'boom' was hilarious
My wife is a Tigers fan, I'm a Yankee, and we are both excited to see Brad Ausmus in the Yankee dugout! Lets go!!!
you would think with ABS impending Umpires would try to get the game together a bit more, not just invite it even more
Boone gives the ump a pep talk, a breakdown
So funny -- thanks I needed a laugh
You should breakdown the orioles game from yesterday. Alot of wacky stuff
Boone will forever be in baseball because of how much he defends his players. It helps that he’s hilarious
There's times when I have to question those pitch trackers. There's pitches that might catch enough of the front corners of the plate to be called a strike but look like they're out or inside.
There have been a few games I’ve watched this season, including this one, where I have been jaw on the floor about the strike calls
I really like it when Jomboy also points out really good umpire calls. I’d like to see more of that. Really evens it out, obviously umpiring is a pretty thankless position.
I’m not ready for full robo umps because I understand the bit of an artful that pitching can be with the strike zone but having the ability to challenge some of these will be good.
There's no art. Back is either where it is supposed to be or it's not. This isn't complicated.
love these
Love ur videos
The Hoosier reference was gold 🥇😂😂😂
I look forward to baseball season just so I can watch Booney in these videos.
That ump is setting up so far to the left (inside of the batter) it probably looks like a strike to him, he needs to get set up right behind home plate to get a good read on the ball.
Why does his strike zone seem so big? That box was like 3’ tall😂
the lip read you asked about looked like "line" to me.
The ump yelling “boom” as he tossed him is so funny
Thanks for posting Jomboy! #BronxBombers
“I’ve done it again” 😂😂
John Bacon -- a call-up ump from AAA. Figures. Most of those guys have nowhere near the accuracy of the regular MLB umps. His ball/strike calls were accurate just 78% of the time this game. Regulars are almost always in the low-to-upper 90s.
The way Boone handed Ausmus his paper was hilarious. Something about the slight pause.
It’s not that umps are even doing this to be assholes or they’re bad - we just have the ability to check their work now and realize that a computer can be more accurate over time
Verdugos reaction is so relatable 😂. Nothing worse than striking out on an unhittable pitch
I have to think the one light comment is in regards to the count, and how this call completely changes the at-batt
I like how when he gets ejected, he always gives words of encouragement to the ump. It’s not personal he keeps it within the game and I can respect that.
Gotta love it. Guy does his job
Asmus face is priceless 😂😂💀
Gotta appreciate Boone for giving Jomboy plenty of content every year! 👏
Lmao that Hoosiers reference was gold.
I LOVE his ejection lectures to the umps! Way to go!
Apparently, MLB umps got together and watched the eclipse without solar glasses. So we'll see this all year. It's believed it takes 6 months to regain full vision after that.
I couldn't possibly hate the Yankees anymore than I do....but they are right on this one. But, that is why I enjoy this so much. Aside from the Astros, they are the easiest team to hate in pro sports.
Baseball is such a funny sport 😂 the ump really yelled boom while ejecting him lmao
Not only is it low it’s outside too
The slider has to be the most deceiving pitch to umpires ... I can't even count how many times I have seen guys with a good slider get the call on pitches that are way outside of the zone
"youve got one fucking job"
Nope. On your "J" he's sticking his tongue out. That's not a J coming out of his mouth at that time. Thus Jomboy's "L" guess.
@@pandaman1968 that's crazy, I didn't ask but thanks for your opinion 🫡
Aaron should be in the ⚾️HaLL just for being great in these situations 👌🏼
The "Boom!" should warrant a fine. You can't get all fussy over people not liking your objectively false calls and then do shit like that.
