In our old a4 B5 you can clearly feel the AC Off 😅 top Speed is around 10kmh Higher without AC, and at some Hills an AC Off manouver could prevent a downshift ^^. But its only 1.6 and 101 weak hp

Look at this old A8, only 2.8l V6 drives very smooth and top speed over 220. Looks like new and in 20 years if it gets some love it will still be a good looking car.

Audis from that era had terrible handling. These cars were just the best to show what means understeering. Heavy engines right before (not even on) front axle, unreliable and expensive front arms. Comfort not terrible, but couldn't be compared with BWM or Mercedes. Also to mention absolutely sterile exterior (you can call it just a car, not pretty, not ugly but miss absolutely emotions) and similarly boring interior, fortunately in good quality. I'm writing it as an owner of Audi A6 from the same era.
Not bad for an A8 with only 193hp and automatic! Moves better to 160kmh than most wannabe 300+ hp cars

Good job. I drive Audi A6 D2 with 4,2 ABZ 300 hp engine and it is going 230 and more with ease. Never tried max, but this is very good engine. 380 000 km and still running as new ona. Simply Baccara!

try and go for the 4.2 , definitely a lot more fun and sounds amazing , the 2004/2006 models are good as well because they didn’t have the crappy timing chain like the 2007-2010 ones did
i had an 05 A8 L fully optioned with the armaretto interior and i gotta say the interior of that car is absolutely beautiful and the handling is on par with some sports cars of the time

Habe alle meine A8 und S8 verkauft. Die Klasse eines V8 hatten sie alle nicht. Aber schön fahren lassen die sich schon. Vom Aussehen her zehnmal besser als der ganze neue Elektroschrott. Kommt leider nicht wieder. Wenn es um die Kosten der Herstellung etc. geht haben diese Fahrzeuge weit weniger Co2 gekostet, als wenn ich nen E-Golf fahre. Aber die Wahrheit ist längst auf der Strecke geblieben. Auto rahren wird zum Luxus.

I have the 2.8 V6 174HP 4speed AT FWD. Amazing car, even 26 years later. Any idea how long your/this one is on LPG? I was thinking of adding to mine, but I am affraid of reliability going down the drain.

I have a vw passat 3bg with same engine, manual gearbox, 4motion, on lpg. Its ok, average consomption on lpg 12 - 14 litres / 100km.

You can see that Audi's A8 series is made of aluminum. If it was a 22-year-old Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7 Series, probably it was full of rust.

Hier in diesem Video geht es gar nicht um Zeitenjagd oder ähnliches , was erwarten manche Leute die karre wiegt 2t und hat den kleinen V6 unter der Haube. Selbst ein d2S8 ist nicht schnell .. Der A8 ist eine komfortable Luxusreiselimo und Optisch sehr edel vor allem der S8 👍
Nur das er keine 2 Tonnen wiegt - weil kein Quattro... Die Karre ist einfach nur lahm, weil was defekt ist.

Ich fahre selbst so einen. Zwar vor Facelift, aber im Grunde der gleiche. Also für einen A8 absolut nichts, also 2.8l sind überhaupt nichts. Aber als alltägliches Auto wunderbar. Du bist nicht auf der Rennstrecke, und das Auto ist dafür auch nicht gemacht worden. Beim Verbrauch würde ich mich so oder so nur für den 2.8l entscheiden. Alle Motoren verbrauchen nicht gerade wenig...

Ich suche keine leistungsstarke Limousine, aber ein alltagstaugliches Auto, mit dem man auch auf der Autobahn nicht sofort verhungert, sobald mal eine leichte Steigung ansteht. Einfach einen gemütlichen Alltagscruiser. Wieviel nimmt sich deiner so im Schnitt?
@@wp8022 je nachdem wie ich fahre zwischen 9l und 15l pro 100km Also wenn du ein alltägliches Auto suchst, schau besser nach etwas anderem. Ich hab mir das Auto auch nur geholt, weil er schon immer mein Traumwagen war. Also ich empfehle dir wenn dann eher ein A3 A4 oder A6. Kommt natürlich auf die Motorisierung an. Aber grundsätzlich, sind die älteren Autos mit Verbrauch ziemlich hoch
@@brick_1407 Die kleineren Autos sind sicher vernünftiger, aber ich steh halt mal auf große Wagen, das ist das "Problem" 😄. In meiner Nähe stand ein A8 2.8 zum Verkauf, deshalb bin ich auf den so angesprungen, aber scheinbar hab ich sowieso zu lange gewartet, denn das Auto ist inzwischen verkauft. Aber falls mir nochmal einer über den Weg läuft, werde ich vielleicht doch noch schwach.

Finde 2,8l mit 193 PS schon wenig für ein A8 untermotorisiert. Ich bleibe bei meine 4,2l V8 im Cabriolet und 80er quattro. Gaudi im Audi.
Wenn du Geld für Sprit scheißen kannst - dann fahr halt V8. Ich bin seit Jahren mit dem V6 Quattro Modell ganzjährig zufrieden. Und da ist im Jahr 2023 gar nix untermotorisiert - wenn Muttis mit 80ig auf Landstraßen unterwegs sind und auf der Autobahn "spritsparend" 150ig gefahren wird.

schönes auto, aber mit dem 2,8l motor und automatik wirkt er etwas schwach auf der brust und untermotorisiert
Ich war zufrieden mit der Fahrleistung. Sound ist gut, das Ansprechverhalten vom Gas war fix und das Getriebe hat einen guten Job gemacht. Bei der Fahrleistung keine selbstverständlichkeit. 💪

Yeah, but this is A8. It has at least 300kg more... EDIT: And it is LPG powered which you can see at the very end of the video (yeah, i nether watched it whole at first)
@@theFee Mine also had LPG. Never felt much of a difference except better response when running on petrol. Actually I just checked now and those two are almost 30HP difference. So with the extra weight and less HP this looks pretty good.

Klar ist es kein V8, aber ich fühlte mich stehts gut Motorisiert. Dank LPG halten sich die Sprit-Kosten in Grenzen. Reparaturkosten halten sich mehr als in Grenzen💪

It's a shame that this generation of Audi and BMW with 2.8L got held back to be in Germany's cheaper tax (or insurance?) bracket. They are torquey for the gentlemen businessman but they are not sports cars.
