  • Our aircraft carrier is just a fishing boat, used for fishing, not fighting. We can't even compare with the Indian aircraft carrier, let alone the United States. Please don't stare at China every day. We were invaded from 1840 to 1965, and we just wanted to live a better life.

  • Hahaha! The comments in the comment section are fantastic! This is correct! This is just a fishing boat, don't worry! The construction of aircraft carriers 004 and 005 has started simultaneously, and the construction of two 076 unmanned aerial vehicle carriers equipped with electromagnetic catapults has also begun in Shanghai. It is possible to conduct sea trials from 2024 to 2025. I hope you can convey to the rulers of your country not to worry, they are just fishing boats.❤🎉❤

The aircraft carrier Liaoning, formerly a Soviet-made aircraft carrier, was completely demilitarized and almost an empty shell when it arrived in China, and engineers spent years repairing it, the significance of which is to research and verify the technology 2. The Shandong, a Chinese-made replica of the Liaoning, is significant in confirming China's ability to build aircraft carriers from scratch 3. The Fujian aircraft carrier, after learning how to walk and run, began to study electromagnetic catapult technology to catch up with the first echelon, and the Fujian will become the main force of the current Chinese Navy and the template for the future Chinese aircraft carrier

I would imagine the use case for this ship is staying within the south China sea so it should be fine, but it wouldn't be able sail to the Mediterranean and run a year long operation against an adversary - unlike the US carriers which can and do do that.

This implies that China has a responsibility to possess the most powerful naval fleet on Earth, used to defend China and the majority of countries in the world from attacks by Anglo-Saxon pirate gangs. For example, China is India's largest trading partner. I believe Indians would also not want a situation where tomorrow, the United States suddenly demands that India stop importing goods from China, threatening to bomb India otherwise. If China has the strongest fleet, we can safeguard the trade security of both China and India.

    • I can answer some. The Liaoning was originally the Riga, built in Ukraine for the Soviet navy. The Shandong was built domestically as a modified version of Riga's design. The Fujian is a new design for China. None of them are nuclear-powered, which could mean the EMALS system would have a slower launch rate (fewer aircraft per minute) than if it were powered by a nuclear reactor.

    • If you have passed your middle school physic exams, you should know there is no problem of a conventional carrier with EMALS. The only thing matter is energy efficiency. Actually EMALS has better efficiency than steam catapuls, like those in Kitty Hawk class carrier. In a steam catapuls carrier, you need to consume energy to heat water and than use the energy of steam power to accelerate aircraft. Most of the energy were lost during this process. EMALS use eletric power to accelerate aircraft, energy lost during the process is much fewer than stem catapuls. Steam catapuls work well in US convential carrier. So EMALS will work even better. In other words, EMALS consume less energy than steam catapuls per launch. And because the EMALS in Fujian are using DC. So in theory they have even better efficiency than AC EMALS which were installed in US carrier Ford.

My call on what’s going on: This boat, type 003, CV-18, is nothing… Speculations abound, words in the street is that they have plans for *a super container ship and other marine vessels using thorium reactor* as the power source. This in turn leads me to believe that once this technology is matured enough (under going actual tests on smaller sized communities right now in the country) that they will refit all four carriers, the 001, 002, 003 (and an additional 003 now in progress) with this power source which is why they still build them using conventional power sources. Not only that, but, as we speak, chatters www abound, two 004 class nuclear power CV’s have already started, simoutanously, in two distinct yards as plans are being drawn up for an addition ten boats of different tonnages all likely to br powered by thorium now by 2045 timeframe… And, by that logic, we can assume that they will start fielding their Aegis and other naval systems with the same power source due to the safety aspect of thorium reactors over others power sources. • China have been into MagLev technology for many years now. The EM catapult as PLA called it, is a derivative of MagLev. Instead of pulling coach, it just need to pull jets to a speed required for take off. Unlike USA that don't have the experience... Further DC EM catapult is better to manipulate the Votage and Current to give a gentle and control acceleration tp redice pilot stress and stress to the airframes.

    • Assuming it works. EM Catapults aren't as reliable as steam catapults and that's very much the reason why the US hasn't made the jump so far, despite testing it.

    • @@daveboy2000 Are you an engineer?? Do you know how the steam zipper works? .. There is a lot of maintainance issue. EM. Catapult like MagLev no contact on the tracks.. Gliding above tracks using magnetic field. No WEAR and TEAR. How ia steam better thsn EM catapult?? Is your Stream Trains better than MagLev train?? Which run faster?

They DONT have the Know How??? Even today USA have not fielded a hypersonic missile while China already fielded in PLA army 8 years ago.
