I don't know if the rest of the panel is just passing along, but I fucking hated the awkward "I'm weird so it must be funny" acts they insisted on putting in, but Jimmy especially seemed to really love that bullshit. • @@rellimnahtan They certainly have some crap there, yes, agreed...... but, on the other hand, they also occasionally strike gold. A series or two ago, they had Adam Kay on, who seemed to be doing little but promote his book and horrify Victoria Coren-Mitchell, but I duly bought the book the next day and thought it was (mostly) the funniest thing I'd read in years. That guy being a fake hospital DJ is quite amusing too, but I can see he wouldn't appeal to everyone. My other half (not a native Brit) usually goes and makes the coffee (or whatever) when they go to Dictionary Corner, which probably also suggests your original assessment isn't far out.

  • *My wife and I had tickets for this series of recordings, and what makes the clip from **5:53** so special for us, is that this was filmed shortly after Sean had finished his final dose of chemo which hadn't worked too well. He'd obviously lost weight and had to wear a huge belt just to hold his trousers up. He could hardly speak, and he was clearly in a lot of pain.* *The saddest part was that everyone knew his chemo hadn't gone well. Yet he had every single member of the crew, the whole panel, and the whole studio audience literally hurting and crying with pure, unadulterated, laughter. But at the same time, we were all in tears just knowing what his prognosis was too. Every so often they'd have to pause recording because some (especially Jon and Rachel) kept getting teary-eyed and genuinely upset. Of course all Sean did was mock them and jokingly telling them to get their shit together. It was a unique but really comforting way of trying to deal with it all.* *I know older generations say there was nobody quite like Morecambe & Wise, or The Two Ronnies, and I really do get that. But surely Sean had to be the cream of the crop of comedians who came along a couple of decades on. I could watch literally everything he's ever done, back to back, and never want it to end. He will be missed, and I suspect by far more people than he could ever have imagined. RIP Sean Lock, and God bless Anoushka and the kids x*

Are you as gullible, ill-informed, and stupid as you seem johnny? Literally thousands of people knew Sean Lock had cancer. He was originally diagnosed with it over 30 years ago you simpleton, and made light of it in some of his earliest comedy routines. Over the years it became clear that the skin cancers he had in 1990 were only **_'secondaries'_** to the **_'primary'_** which was already severe, and diagnosed as being at **_'Stage 3'_** as early as 2015.* *Is my story made up? • @@saynotowoke.8492 You said people were crying at the show, nobody there knew he had cancer and was in the last stages of his life. Near the end, only Bill Bailey and a couple of others(apart from family of course) went to visit him in the hospice. Most people were utterly shocked at his death, including people like Jimmy Carr who hosts the effin show! He had skin cancer 30 years ago, which had nothing to do with the cancer he had that killed him(lung cancer). His comedic style never veers off into vulgarity or personal attacks, despite being consistently the funniest, most prominent of all panelists.
