  • Being a housekeeper/room attendant is such hard work. I worked in housekeeping for a short time and it was by far the most physically hard job I have ever had. Plus the amount of time you have on each room is so short considering what you need to do. A job I think that needs a lot more admiration and appreciation.

    @bluefolkbird7219@bluefolkbird72197 жыл бұрын

  • I am currently 18 years old and I have been a houseman at Marriott for just under 10 months and I recently applied for the position Housekeeping Lead as it has just become available at my hotel. I am hoping I can get it because the hotel I work at is a dream job and I would love to turn it into a career someday. Every job within our department is very tiring but we are all really good friends and we help each other through the day. If anybody is thinking about getting into a career like this, I would highly recommend it. It is my first job and I could not ask for better.

  • The people who works in housekeeping in hotel desired to pay higher and more respectful because the demand of physical works are could not be imagine (cleans 16 to 24 rooms per 8 hours). I knew some guys in Hong Kong they changed their job from 20 years experience of construction works into housekeeping in hotel then after 2 months they resigned with same reason that the works are really hard to deal with. Also people they works in Housekeeping are no winter uniform needed because they works so hard and keep sweating whole day long.

  • So i recently became apprentice at a Hotel, I’m supposed to be at the receptionist department but they said you’ll be doing every department the first month. So my first day was literally hell, they made me go with this colleague to housekeep and I already learned everything the first day. So my first week was only housekeeping and OMG that whole week whenever i came home I couldn’t feel my legs, like they were literally numb that the only thing i could do when i came home was to lay down and sleep. I’ve never done such a hard work. We cleaned so many rooms the first day already and remember apprentice money isn’t a money you can live by. So I already wanted to quit this job at the first week. I always had respect for housekeepers but now i have even much more respect for the people who do this job, it’s such a demanding job so please be mindful for these people and don’t leave a really messy room.

We are humans afterall and inspite of biological stuffs like periods, headaches and mild backaches we have to do our job to feed our family and a huge mess at room sometimes take a toll on us. Please be mindful before you create a mess while staying in a room as a guest. Yes we get paid for it but nobody wants unreasonable mess (it takes seconds to create a mess but it takes us half an hour or sometimes more to clean that mess) and we make minimum of 15 rooms.
