  • In my opinion it's the only reason they legalised Homosexuality because politicians were getting increasingly compromised. Nothing to do with humanity or human rights.

    • On the contrary it was taking a big risk for those MP’s to support the decriminalization of homosexuality, being that there was so much public opposition to it back in the mid sixties, and in fact it was a conservative peer Lord Arran who proposed it in 1965…..who was straight btw! In fact it was that unpopular with many of the public, some MPs attributed their defeat in the 1968 election for supporting the bill that passed the previous year! Yes some might have been secretly gay, but decriminalizing was nothing to do with what you are suggesting!

    • The trouble with that is, how can we know how much we don't know? It has to come down to either facts that don't fit, but might fit other including innocent explanations, or gaps in our knowledge which you reckon at 90% of the real story - but how can you ascribe characteristics to gaps. It's like having pieces of a jigsaw puzzle where the content is covered over: you might be able to find a gap where the shape fits, but since you don't know the content, or the size of the overall jigsaw, you can't know that piece is supposed to go there.

    • @@dionlindsay2 That number is an estimate and it’s based on the established facts of the cases, testimonials of the people that knew them etc. it could be 20 percent or 1 percent but we definitely don’t know the whole story. There was no internet, social media or camera phones at the time so the information is very limited. Many of the secrets have died with people involved. We can all agree that we know that much.

      @Calvin23@Calvin2310 ай бұрын
    • @@Calvin23 It's very likely true that "we don't know the whole story". But if you're saying what we know could be 1 percent or 20 percent or anything short of the whole story, then 10% isn't an estimate, it's hyperbole. I'm probably overegging my criticism, but you are a bit easy!

  • I'd say Ronnie Kray knew what Jimmy Savile was up to when Savile visited Broadmoor and was on the board and sometimes lived there, Ron Kray would have spoken to Savile because Savile was the famous charity DJ and TV star, but something tells me Ron knew what he was and may have let some of his pals know, If Ron did know who Savile was and what he was doing ,why wouldn't he try to expsose it by using his friends In the underworld. Maybe he tried and that would have kept him in forever, Even when J.Pearson was writing the book and both were jailed ,Pearson was giving hIm pics of Ron and Bootbhy ,when Pearson left them in his flat and went on holiday when he got back his flat was robbed and only the pics taken. Something weird happened there,

  • The fight to get a decent police force has been long and hard. For a long time it was a losing battle but it bravely struggled into the light and had some days into the sun and worthwhile successes, for which the society, indeed the world should be grateful because it showed what could be achieved when decency and good people prevail. Alas, those days have passed and I fear it has again been trampled into shadows again by governments, politicians, previleged patrician and media. Good luck to decency, it may be down but not out.
