  • Thanks for the useful update; I'll know what to look for later in May when I travel down to London.. I hope that common sense prevails, delivering an 11-platform HS2 terminus to facilitate future generations to expand to the 18 trains per hour which was the original capacity design (and will be needed in future decades).

    • Common sense has NEVER "prevailed" since day one of this monstrous vanity project. The disaster that is Euston will only continue if private investment can be found & face the facts, it's highly unlikely that any construction company would touch it with a bargepole after going billions over budget. In the unlikely event that construction continues, it was proposed in October last year that the number of platforms would be reduced to 6 & the number of trains would be reduced to 9-11 per hour rather than 18. Plans to run trains at 224mph are also in jeopardy as significant amounts of money could be saved if speeds were reduced. It could also pave the way for higher specifications designed to accommodate a larger number of trains to be scrapped - for example, holding the tracks together with standard ballast instead of the more expensive concrete slabs currently envisaged. This is all good news as HS2 is an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britain's biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.
